There's people who have gone fishing, and then there's people who have been blessed to go fishing with Scott Miller. I haven't been able to fish with my Dad and Grand Dad since they moved on from this earth, but when I fish with Scott, it feels like they are there with us.

Hey! Been there, done that... and there ain't NOTHING to compare to the experience!! Between 1994 and 1998, I used to fish with Mark Johnson, Nakwasina Charters out of Ketchikan. Mark had a 40 foot trawler, and we would spend the entire, five to seven day trip on the boat. I've fished everything form Duke Island to Wrangel, and it's an experience I'll take to my grave. Halibut.... it took me 45 minutes to land a 115 pound halibut in Union Bay ('97 trip). That said, my all time "Fishing story" occurred on the 1995 trip. We'd planned to enter the Ketchikan King Salmon derby. We woke up Saturday morning after anchoring overnight in a sheltered cove. Mark said, "If you want to enter the derby, we have to go back to town to sign up. If you catch a fish you want to weigh in, you have to surrender your fish, although you can buy it back at market rate." We decided, Hell with the derby, we came up ti have a good time.... forget the derby. Two hours later, trolling off Mountain Point, I boated a 48-inch, 56-pound King!! (I wish I could attach a photo to this comment).
NOW, as Paul Harvey would have said... "For the rest of the story," HAD we entered the derby, and had I entered that fish, I would have won first prize in the derby......... $10,000.00.

Water flat as a pond, real good looking operation. Nice job by the Captain handling those fish he released.
