Hey - a little message to say... I'm sent these boxes to review as honestly as possible.
I think if I 'absolutely loved' everything, I'd be doing y'all a major disservice. I'll always keep things as honest as possible for you.
I'm not offended about the Gillyweed - it was just a playful joke, I love that item (It's on my potions shelf right now!).
As for the egg... I personally didn't like it, and that's okay. I wasn't mean about the artist and / or factory who made it - I just thought it wasn't great, and had seen one exactly the same either in this box or another box before. That's all folks!

I really hope you realize what you did. I really hope you sit down and think about what you would feel if you heard someone saying that your work was quite shit and they could've done better. This is not personal preference, that was mean.
I wasn't very impressed with this box either.. and previous boxes were so nice! The bath products are not my favourite, but I guess they are comparable to bags of tea, it's not a display item and it's very subjective.. I feel you were not your usual bubbly energy and people are reacting to that fact.. I'm not offended if you aren't impressed!
The bath chunks are literally what they say. It's just all the bath bombs that didn't stay as a ball, and fell apart, that someone decided to not waste and made the bath chunks out off. It's a great idea.
That's what I thought about the zero waste! Definitely smelt more like cookies and cake than the described scents haha.

Erin Ashleigh It's a wonderful quote, such a Gryffindor thing to say! Hagrid is one of my favourite characters because he is kind and genuine, and a loyal friend. I was afraid JKR might kill him off in one of the books, so glad she didn't!

Calling it **** seemed mean spirited. Would she go up to someone's booth at a craft or art fair and call something that? She doesn't have to like everything but that comment just seemed uncalled for, especially since it was handmade.
It's just cherry's personal preference.
There probably will be other people out there who find they like the egg and that sort of thing.
The same as if cherry liked something she gets in a box others may find its not their sort of thing.
Differences on things we like and don't like wether we share the same opinions/preferences or not is what sets us all apart!! 😉

@@basicgaming1619 completely agree that she needs to be honest but so often mean comments are made under the guise of honesty. There is a way to provide an honest opinion that doesn't come off as mean. She absolutely does not need to pretend to like it, and all of her points before that one comment were constructive and fair. But it just seemed like she enjoyed calling it ****. Which comes across as mean spirited.
honestly it kind of surprised me because i have never really heard her comment on things in that way like yes it sounded a little mean but i don't know how to feel about it.other youtubers might be like that all the time yet it has never really seemed like cherry's type

And with you as a inspiration of speaking your mind; girl, that gillyweed looks like other creations I have found as inspiration on pinterest from 2012 and 2015. Don't shade another artist for getting inspiration from someone else when you obviously done the same imho. Also it's limited options for what one can do to make it look recognizable.

I agree if she was doing it to be shady but she’s said multiple times that she was just being playful- she has a good relationship with the company and wouldn’t just be unnecessary shady for the sake of it 💙💛🥰

But she was salty about it (she didn't even mention the gillyweed in the end of the video with all the other items) , and that's ok she's human like all of us. But to pretend it was playful joke and not owing up to that one small weak human moment doesn't make it better. Imo.

But kinda had a feeling from the first minutes on, maybe it just wasn't her day to be that cheerful we know her.
She’s got her own boxes coming out now so any other box she does a video of are no longer going to be “honest” she will look for things she dislikes in them all. There has been worse items in previous boxes that she claimed to love lol
@@wazitSomethingISaid I had that thought too - but it mustn't be intentionally - I think. In our modern society everything is about comparing, so with her creating her own boxes she steps into being critizable for it too. She had ideas how to make items of previous boxes better befor. Now there are a lot of people may having this opinions on products she crafted with her heart - so it may be stressful, it may be self-securing to critize 'more'. It may just be something bad happends befor that video and stressed her and she was still in that mood when filming. Who knows.
I'm glad to hear your comment about bath products in boxes. Several boxes are doing them these days, and I hate getting them. Bath products are indeed something very personal, people have different skin, you can develop easily allergies to them. What the point in receiving a bath bomb when you don't own a bath tub, or if you are someone that's very mindful of the environment... :/
I think the Azkabox is kind of 50/50, they have some great items (the quill and the Rita jar are great), but others are total miss, and since it's a box on the pricey side, it's a but of a bummer.
I have to agree. I think the boxes are cool with a lot of thought put into them and a large variety of items, but I have no bath (only a shower) at my house and sadly an item like that would just sit on a shelf for me. It's cool for those who can use it though I guess!!
Haylee Phillips some people use them as foot soaks, maybe you could use yours that way.

Absolutely not. I've always given my honest opinions in every unboxing - even before making my own box.
I am sent these in return for my honest opinion, that's the entire point of these videos - to say what's great (which there are many great things about this box) as well as to discuss the bad.
She has always told the truth about any subscription box she has reviewed. It makes no difference wherher she has one or not
Honest opinions are great, that’s what I liked about your unboxing, but there’s a difference between being honest and just plain being mean. You didn’t have to say the egg was shit, you could have just said poorly made and that you didn’t like it. I dunno.
Totally this is the REAL Cherry. With her own box now she is making demands of others boxes and when refused, they get a bad review. Notice her looking for bad things to say about some of the item she would of previously said she likes. I hope they don’t send her anymore boxes

you know, I don't mind "bitchy" reviews, in fact I find them quite funny, but it did feel jarring coming from Cherry, who usually makes such an effort to stay positive. it got me thinking that I've never heard her criticise geekgear so harshly, and they've had their share of poor quality items in their box (which is why I canceled my subscription).
I don't know if it's conscious or not, but I think since Cherry has her own boxes now, she's become a bit more biased in reviewing others and I don't think I'm liking it.

Now I actually agree with your thoughts on the egg, it wasn’t a well produced item for such a heavy priced box. But I only wish you didn’t call it “shiz”. I love and want your honesty, that’s why I go to you and am a subscriber. But that was definitely not something I ever thought I would hear you say, especially because you are a creator yourself. I just wish you could have thought about the creator of that and have put it more respectfully, rather than scrutinizing it so harshly. I still definitely agree with your thoughts on it, just wish you would have worded it differently...

I’m really sorry but am I the only one who is not ok with the way she spoke about the things she didn’t liked? And in my opinion it’s not ok to say publicly in a video that you think a company stole an idea from you. Yes, she made a DIY about it but there are also people who do not follow her and maybe want one. Yes, it is similar but that just means that people have the same idea of it. There are thousands of DIYs online - and I’ve never heard anyone brag as bad about an DIY as her.

Hey... it's honestly not this serious - it was a little joke. I'm not offended by it, I just found it funny that they were quite similar. I'm sure there are plenty more that look like it online. It's all good. I loved the item to the point it's on my potion shelf.

People say her comments are mean because of her honesty,I was a fan of her for a loong time now, Times ago she used to review the same boxes , and the items that she didn't like were in those too .but never spotted a behaviour like that before. Weren't she honest before ? Did she like all the items before ?
Yeah I saw her not like a lot of the things she reviewed over the years, but she was always respectful on her criticism before. Idk what's wrong with her now and why can't she understand what fans are telling her (or why she doesn't want to)
Maybe Cherry was feeling tired and so was not in a very charitable mood today. People are freaking out like it’s some sort of a trend or a “new direction” for her. I wouldn’t be concerned.
Easy. Now she is truly herself, i spotted fakeness in her previous previous videos and she replied to me "i was not good that day" or something like that, but i think i truly understood her undertone from that video. She gets like this, she was exactly like this when she reviewed ‘fake replicas’ . I think, like someone else in the comments said, this is the ‘real’ cherry. Sometimes her mask slips, it’s not pleasant.
I have felt like that in a lot of her later videos. She doesn't even seem to want to do these unboxings anymore and bashes A LOT, whereas in earlier videos she always was really nice about not loving something, without completely bashing someone else's work!
I'm not really comfortable with watching these anymore... Especially if this is her 'real' and 'honest' self...

Exactly, it made me feel quite uncomfortable too, I was watching with a twirl on my skin. And about the fact that something is poorly made... Not everyone can afford the best replicas and we still love the magical world so we will get what we can from less expensive creators. There are many ways to go around things and be stingy about it may not be the best.

I make patches into magnets. just get some magnetic sheet with sickly back and cut around it.

its honest review and i completely agree with cherry on the items she disliked, they looked so half assed made for how much you are paying for the boxes, the items even small should be good and detailed.
I personally wouldnt buy a box like this because, 1. I couldnt use the bath things because my skin reacts to them... I cant even use lush stuff. And 2. If something is a very simple handmade thing I feel like I could just do it myself

So interesting seeing how people’s preferences differ, as most of the stuff in the box seemed like things I would really enjoy, even the ones that Cherry wasn’t such a fan of. Although I must say replicas are also my favorites
Get all of your iron-on patches and get a old denim jacket from a charity shop or a bit of denim and iron them all on to it and hang it up I've done it in my room and it looks amazing

If you have an candle that was in a dark colored glass, take the labels off your smaller candle and put it in the glass one after it's been used up. That's what I do.

Great honest review! The only thing that caught me off guard was Vegard being in the room and the bleeped comments. My 6 year old was watching along with me, so I would just like a little warning if there’s going to be language, even bleeped language. I watch Vegard’s videos, & love him, but I don’t watch them around my littles.
The patches, my daughter is a scouts girl now as a adult young woman I had het patches trough the years on her blouse. But like some a put on a blanket of so and it can turn into a quilt, turning into a bedspread or sofa spread. Even you can make into a artwork for on the wall.
You didn't sound mean to me, I understand why some people thought differently. HOWEVER, so many of the comments are much meaner. Guys, when you think someone was mean, it's very hypocritical of you to give ''constructive criticism'' by being even harsher. Just let her know you prefer her when she's sweeter, that'll do it.
If you collect up all your patches you could sew or iron them into a blanket? If they parches don’t have an iron on backing they all you need to do is get some ironing tape and put that between the patch and the blanket and iron. The tape melts and sticks the patch to the blanket. You could also use have a bag, t-shirt, jumper or whatever else you want instead of a blanket but a blanket is cool to decorate. I have a girl guiding blanket covered in patches for girl guiding.
It's interesting that you say you like stuff what you can put in shelfs, that was i didn't like in your geek gear box, there wasn't any product what can be used.

Little unnecessarily negative about everything in this box people have worked hard to create the things in this box and as someone who creates their own sub box you would have thought you might have been a little kinder rather than just dismissing things that were hand made and probably took along time to do so, I suggested you rewatch your video and put it into context, imagine someone was reviewing your products from your box like this and took one look at your mandrake painting and said the same about that as you did the print from the box, I understand you have to be honest that doesn't mean you have to be unkind. I expected better.

I know this is late but there shouldn't have been anything wrong with people commenting their opinions when Cherry literally asked in the outro if we agreed with her. She asked straight up if we agreed or not on her opinion of the box. That is all. Lol
I can sort of understand the shitstorm, but at the same time. As a creator myself, the products Cherry were very honest about (and yes it was honesty because it was a genuine reaction) was something I could have made myself and better. I don't get these boxes but I see where Cherry is coming from, it didn't look nice. I've looked up the price on this box and it isn't cheap and I would be very unhappy getting collectors items looking like this... My first reaction was the same to watching, bad choice of words, perhaps, but it was said and she chose to keep it in the video because it's authentic. And about the gillyweed... She was playing around and yes there are similarities, the girl has humor! Of course she's not the first person making a replica, it was a joke and I thought it was funny that they were similar because nowadays subscription boxes and companies steals works of creators so I saw it as funny and a humorous sidenote.
Also, since Cherry has done unboxings for such a long time and also started creating some herself, she knows the work that goes in to them and she knows about quality. Cherry is being true to herself, sounded more harsh then before, maybe but honest opinions aren't always perfectly put!
I think it was the way she said it not what she said. It's fine for her to dislike things, but communicate that in a respectful way.
Everyone's comments about you acting differently are a little strange to me. I feel like you have always been the same when reviewing products. I felt like this year you were extremely over the top and bubbly about all of the boxes you opened, but perhaps that's because you have genuinely loved everything this year except maybe a few items! Don't let the comments discourage you. I think honesty is the best policy, and there's no need to fake your reactions or comments just to make other people happy! Keep up the amazing channel, Cherry. I love it it so much!

I think she's always honest about her reviews she says it's always going to be hit or miss because everybody has different preferences. Sometimes people are not going to like how she comes off and says it but you know that's also a different preference for everybody. You cannot please everybody. And if you try you'll go nuts. I think she does a wonderful job
Everyone had an opinion. I personally do like the egg, at least the idea of it, but I agree with cherry. Dragons in that bag would have been better or an egg that was a little better? It’s cute but again, not super high quality? They included 15 items. Maybe including less products of higher quality would be better. Yes, cherrys not pulling punches, but she doesn’t love everything and it would be wrong to pretend she likes everything. Maybe she shouldn’t have said shit, but it definitely looked like a mass produced artists idea. Spend more money on less items. My two cents.
I like how honest she was because she is speaking as a person who knows how much work goes into boxes like this. The egg was shit and I personally could tell that she was joking about the gilly weed. I happened to really like the three tasks print. I loved the simple clarity about it with the color highlighting the important thing. I too thought there were a few not great things but think I literally jumped for joy when I opened the quill :)

Honestly you guys, alright she was a bit harsh with the egg artist, and yes I felt bad but come on ! I’m making polymer clay as well, and I’m no artist, and I can assure you this was poorly made. But maybe the artist had to rush it out because of the number she/he had to make for that subscription box ?
Moreover, you all might seem to forget that Cherry is a collector.
I mean look at her background, it’s full alright !
Regarding the amount of replicas and Harry Potter themed objects she has, she probably gets more and more selective with what comes in and out of her shelves right ? Otherwise it would be too crowded !

i only use hard soapes because i can buy the ones that are wraped in paper or come in a little box
and fluid soaps are often in plastic and thats not verry nature friendly
i dont want to make plastic trash just because i wash my hands

I completely agree on the candle thing being over-used in a lot of boxes! I'm not a big fan of candles either (especially since I'm not allowed to use them in my dorm). Maybe other ideas for scented stuff could be like perfume (cause it could look like potion bottles), diffusers, or wax melts.
