I've built up a large network of fellow producers and filmmakers over the years that share data... and I work with a distributor that shares data from all it's filmmakers (it's part of the deal when you sign with them)
FC: How much do some of your films make? J. Horton: As low as $5 per month. Me: “Oh snap!” FC to me: That’s an interesting comment Coby. How much money did your last film make? Me: Zero 😒. FC: So if I understand this correctly 🤔 hypothetically speaking, in 20,000 years J. Horton would have $1,200,000 from just one of his movies, and you, Coby at the end of that same time period would have zero dollars? Am I understanding this correctly? Me: 🤔😒😔 J. Horton: Hey man. Don’t worry. Keep at it. I believe in you. Me: 😃. FC to me: How does $5 per month sound now? Me: Pretty good actually. 🙂 FC: 🙂
some movies fail. Some win. I said as low as 5 as 6k and that's generalities. I've had movies make 16k in a month. The point was the numbers are all over the place for most indie films.
@@JHorton All of your movies make more than mine. And you have a huge film catalogue. 😊👏 Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom and insights on film revenue. 👍 Your time is much appreciated. 😊
@@JHorton For the failures do you take the 'L' and move on, continue to push it and try to find its audience, pull it and re-edit/re-work it, or something else?
