GOOD NEWS! We are back in control of our Instagram account. Thank you all for the support! We had a Patreon that worked for Meta...in the automotive division of all things. She was able to help us through another employee! Unfortunately, I believe without the inside help, we wouldn't have achieved this. Clearly, there are some severe security issues that need to be addressed within the company. The hacker had been direct messaging our followers and almost had a few fooled into clicking links sent to them. Thankfully, the word about the video spread, and everyone figured out what was happening. This was a lesson for us and we are leaving this video up as a cautionary tale for others.
I hope this is the two of you, Looks like you Wynn, you've got control of your account's again. We should really do something to people who can think of nothing better to do then make other people's lives miserable. If you were a thief in North Africa, Saudi Arabia etc. they used to cut off your hands. Maybe an example would get others to change their habits. The End.

I know this is your livelihood and need this. For me, it is not the case but I am negatively telling others my terrible experience with Meta and lack of response or even a better way to contact them.
I work in anti-abuse and have some contacts at Meta. They're in a different department, but I sent a link to your video and asked if they could forward it to an appropriate contact at Instagram. Hopefully things are resolved soon in your favor.
Can you dm the contacts to me? I’ve been trying to report a group selling advertising in the group for years bit can’t even get anyone to reply to an email. Even messaged every meta employee on linkedin i could find and didn’t het one reply….seems they don’t care about someone stealing their revenue…

That’s so crazy. Our Instagram account went down months ago too and we have no way or contact them to be able to get it back up. Every time we reach their support it’s a message and you send in a code with proof of business and your phots and then nothing. No response. I feel so bad for you guys and I hope it gets resolved quickly. I feel your pain.

Well, I feel really bad for you both, but this is the chance you take with social media. After my experience with trying to recover my account on a social media platform, it had me in tears and I gave up. There are no HUMANS to contact, it’s sickening!!

Be really careful with people offering to help. It's VERY common for people to claim to be able to help with things like this, and it is just another spam/attack vector! Unless you know for sure who you are talking to PLEASE be skeptical of what people say!
So true. I was contacted by none other than the amazing Andrea Bocelli. NOT. 🤣 Emailed their Corporate office in Italy. They were sorry, but no. The perp commented back. I reported him to the FBI Cyber people and YT with the string of his inane gibberish.
Please be aware that these hackers are likely following your videos and your Patreon, TH-cam, Twitter, and Facebook will likely be targeted as well. Be extra vigilant of anywhere where a malicious link can be sent to you. They may even try texting you now. Best of luck Wynn's. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Jason, you need to look at the from address in the email. Also, you should verify the link in the email as well. If you are unsure, do not click it! Go to the app or website on your own and continue the process there. I am sorry to hear you fell victim to a phishing attack. There are a number of resources online that can help you identify these types of attack going forward. However, its always best to NEVER click links in in email. You should always go directly to the site of the company.
@@fmaz1952 yes and no. In this situation it was clearly not a valid address. But, in terms of spoofing an address, yes it’s easy, however, they are using Gmail and Facebook does has anti spoofing records configured. Google will respect valid DMARC/SPF records.

I have uninstalled Instagram. This is an unacceptable development in your story. It is my thought that Instagram and other such platforms will not pay attention to such issues until they begin to lose participants. I am happy watching your content on TH-cam. Instagram was interesting, but it's not worth keeping if they are going to allow such good quality content creators as yourselves to go through situations like this.
Sadly, this situation with Instagram merely confirms in my own mind that there is no such thing as "Social" media on the internet. I've never opened an account with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or whatever.

Just reported a spam post on your IG, now it's blank. Hope you get it back quickly and without more stress. I recently stopped an attempt at a corporate scam, they had got past several people already. I would recommend reading up on good practices to help prevent these frauds.

They had your email and phone, most likely those are the first things that the hackers changed on the account. Try contacting them from an unrelated computer. Justin case the link you clicked on infected your device. Frequently hackers try to block links and programs that might expose/remove their access. Good luck. This is the bad part of these social media companies, everything is online, no actual people to talk to. They should set up unique recovery codes when the accounts are created so you can always prove you are the true owner of the site.

Not a techy person but the podcast Dark Net Daries episode 97 is a WILD episode about Instagram hacks and take over. Those scammers are getting real bad! I think it's good for us to know some of what they are up to. Stuff that won't but should be on the news

What was the nexus between applying for a blue check and getting the confirmation e-mail? How did they know you applied for a blue check?
It has to be luck, unless their's more to the story. Like the first form being from an email link or something.

Wow. I am so glad I do not have any social media accounts anymore...I did not trust them, even Facebook. I know you HAVE to, and I am so sorry this happened to obviously good people like you. Not a techy person but the podcast Dark Net Daries episode 97 is a WILD episode about Instagram hacks and take over. Those scammers are getting real bad! I think it's good for us to know some of what they are up to. Stuff that won't but should be on the news
Very sad to hear, sounds like facebook has some liability in this because they are somehow leaking the fact that you are in the process for that verification badge.
Or perhaps the service they are using to do the trademark registration, seems it's common to use such services for the blue checkmark

Well that's Facebook/Meta for ya. Haven't been on either Facebook or Instagram on a hot minute. They need to get their act together if they wanna control both Facebook and Instagram. As if all of Facebook's drama wasn't enough. On the bright side, at least it wasn't your channel! But it's a real shame just how much these basement scammers take advantage of more successful people with their sneaky tactics
The same happen to me 3 weeks ago. Today I try and could not get it. So gave up informed all my friends about the situation. Made a new one with different mail account. Sorry you all are going trough the same item issue I have gone. Thank you for letting us know. Lulu
Please set up multifactor authentication on EVERY other online account you have that allows/provides it.

seems like the internet system would do more to prevent those hackers. It is like they just let them be predators.
I'm sorry that this happened to you guys as you are such lovely people that share their lives with others. That being said whoever felt the desire to ruin your lives has an internal issue that needs to be met with love and hopefully they will see their transgressions for what they are.
I reported the IG story as a scam/fraud and your account as scam/fraud. I am so sorry this happened to you, but know you have so many GOOD people on "Team Wynn" that follow you. We got you ! Also, thank you for being such great creators on TH-cam
I find the people that have taken over your account more interesting. I think I’m going to follow their adventures. I just have to send them some funds to help them out and off they go.
