Jason after you voiced your thoughts about your crossing, I though I had to weigh in and say that the two of you have a right to be very proud of yourselves. I have been sailing for nearly 60 years and the enormity of what you have done and are still doing, is not to be underestimated. Crossing large bodies of water in small boats is an inherently dangerous occupation. I take my hat off to the two of you for your bravery in attempting this and your humour and self deprecation about the daily outcomes of this adventure. I know many very good sailors who have decided against large ocean crossings because of a fear of the unknown - and if any body tries to tell you that these days this is routine, then they are naive, asinine or just plain stupid. So don't belittle or underestimate what you have achieved so far. The only thing I wish I had when I was crossing oceans was SatNav and a generator (warm beer sucks). But with all your electronics and comfort, your survival is still at the whim of nature and Poseidon. Knowing that - and still going ahead is what we used to call "the right stuff". I wish you many more happy days and fair seas.
A prime example of weather planning and preparation. Two people on a tiny boat crossing a huge often unpredictable ocean is something to be celebrated, hats off to cats and crew
I’m in awe of both of you for How far you’ve come literally and figuratively the past couple years. You should be very very proud of yourselves! The couple drone footage I’ve seen of the boat in the middle of the ocean gives a glimpse of how alone you really are out there. Scares me from the safety of my couch LOL
Jason, you tell stories with your imagery! …and everyone knows "a picture says a thousand words". Maybe even a million more. The images you capture for us are emotions that words cannot effectively capture. The night sky time lapses show us what the first sailors saw, the water shots tell us the stories of the sea creatures. And so much more. Trust me we are connecting thru your imagery and it hits us with so much more than words. You and amazing Nikki have held our attention and given us perspective, in ways no other has. Thank you for taking the brave steps to show us what humans were meant to do. Learn, participate, and leave no trace of harm to our precious earth.
,I have encountered gifted people whom i respect and enjoy. the authors of the blog are gifted professionals, or at least should be. their authenticity and interpersonal skills are "It's full of lights."
Nikki amazes me with the meals she creates when you are out at sea. Nikki you are an amazing woman. You do it all. And Jason we love you too! Great videos!
Nikki, you always bring such a touch of class and elegance to what you do, culinary especially. I've seen so many sailing couples go seedy, looking as barnacle encrusted as their boat bottoms. Yet, you are always an image of polish and classiness. KUDOS!!! You could teach a lot of people that leisure doesn't have to equate with slovenliness.
You guys are amazing! You have been inspiring me for over a year now to go on a year (or longer) backpacking trip around the world! I have lived in Australia and a few other places, but never for more then just a few months. I started a business a year and a half ago to fund my trip. I graduated college and was broke living in my car with my boyfriend. We found a local bagel shop who let us use his kitchen in their off hours at night to get our start. So we started a late night cookie delivery service, living in the parking lot of the bagel shop. It was a huge success and now we have a storefront location (hopefully a second one soon!) And are almost financially stable enough to fund years of travel. We are so excited and it's your channel that keeps me pushing each day to work and make this happen, knowing this type of travel is the end goal! I hope to one day convert my TH-cam channel to being a full travel channel like yours
Haha awh thank you!! We actually do have a channel, we just don't really market it much because were so busy building the business, hustling, or traveling. If you press on my little icon you can see it. We do post though 1-3 times a week :) I just never have time to actually market it and tell people that it exists! haha Maybe I should take it more seriously and hire someone to market it for me...you think it would be worth it and do well? lol. Lemme know what you think! I just always put it last on the to do list with everything else going on!
Ahh the wynns have that effect on us,we have been living full time in a class a rv for 1. 5 years now and loving it😁 follow your dreams it's a good life! The Mittons
Wow Evan!! That's awesome!! I haven't had the glorious life of living in an RV yet but I definitely hope to some day! So far everywhere I have road tripped, I have lived in the car or been hitchhiking. I set up a clothes line in the backseat area and wash my clothes in lakes...VERY budget style travel! haha but I hope to one day try an RV like you! Maybe you'll see me get to that point if you follow my videos but if definitely won't be for a while! lol. Congrats on an awesome life!!
Jason, love the heart to hearts. You're way too hard on yourself. What I love about your vlog is how genuine you both seem, and your willingness to share these intimate parts of your lives with the world. We wouldn't want it any other way. Keep up the great work!
So your coffee hasn't run out even though your fruit & veggies are slimmer. You 2 are craving interaction on your long voyage like you received when you were in your motor home. Just stopping to see something different can't be done on a long voyage. Just seeing another sail boat or a big ship would be fun & break the monotony. You could even converse with someone else & say "How is it going would be fun." You both were meant for each other but you 2 are people person & need interaction with others to feel fulfilled. The most happy videos I have viewed that you have made is when Dale & her other half was on your boat. The 4 of you were having fun & enjoying yourselves. The other videos with Jason's mom was having fun on your boat was a good time also. You didn't show every minute of all the trip but you showed everyone enjoying each other. The parts where Dale & her husband by themselves as well as showing you 2 by yourself was good. Showing Betty & Jason together, showing Nikki with Betty & showing all three of you together is good. Being together as a group is healthy as having solitude time is very healthy. Trying to perform for a video all the time & not being real is not healthy. How many actors or performers do drugs, act out negatively or commit suicide one way or another. Now I'm going out & shoot some pictures just to have some fun. I share them with others also & then I'm having a normal reaction with others. I welcome criticism as well as praise. This is what will make me as good as you 2 are.
*_That was way cool, that you asked for thanks, from the fish for its sacrifice. That's the old ways and the best way to be. My opinion! Always give thanks towards another species, if they give their life for your sustainability._*
With this wonderful thought and understanding in mind WHY do you think so many Native Americans are so wasteful with the items nature has to offer man? Here in Washington State we see it almost everyday. Fish and Shell Fish most often, very sad.
That fish wasn't even old enough to reproduce. Yes, even so-called sport fishing impacts wild populations. A vacuous thank you does nothing to replace the unnecessary death.
Just think south florida you can go catch and release 10 sailfish in a day easy. They will all live. The record day so far is 89 caught sailfish and released in one day. even seeing hooking a shortbill spearfish is a dream. Catching and releasing one is something most never dream of.
Super rich anglers spend 10's of millions of dollars to catch and RELEASE a shortbill spearfish to complete catching and releasing every type of billfish in the ocean and most never even get a shot at catching a shortbill spearfish. Just sayin....
You may not be a wordsmith, but I tune in because I adored your RV series!!!! I do not tune in for actors!!! I like you all and seeing you go from zero to being in the "great somewhere, out there" is just amazing!!! For various reasons many of us will never get this chance. With you two being on and in this adventure and working hard to share the experience you are on a passage alone, yet we tune in to be there with you in spirit!!! I like you both just as you are!!! I leaned so much on the RV series, I felt more confident on repairs and technologies, that we built a small camper van!!! Don't get the Doldrums!!!! Thank you all so very much!!!!
What you were experiencing when you started getting closer to land was what we used to call "Channel Fever". Restless feeling and the sense that the boat is traveling too slow. 24 plus days at sea does that to a person. Well done you two. Congrats on your passage.
Jason, you ARE a wordsmith, as is Nikki. It comes thru from your HEARTS!!! An awesome voyage, well filmed and very well presented, but mostly an experience the two of you will never forget - shared together!
Oh Jason your talks are just wonderful, I was thinking when watching the drone shots from above your cat, how small & alone you look out there, yes you & Nicky should feel a sense of achievement, because it is, an immensely brave & courageous thing to do after only two years, the Pacific Ocean is one hell of a big ocean, & yes it’s fine to feel all emotions, it so different to land, cities, masses of people etc.. your doing it, you’ve done it by now I’m sure, you’ve arrived.. Congratulations to you both, it’s a testament to your strength, trust & love 💕 for each other, it’s only going to get better once you arrive in these heavenly places.. 🌺😸⛵️
GREAT DRONE SHOT , GREAT CATCH, YOU GUY TAKE IT FOR GRANTED 25 DAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN IS NOT AN EASY TASK, AND YOU DON'T MIND SHARING YOUR FEELING ABOUT EVERYTHING HAPPENING, LOVE IT
Good job on that massive fish! 20+ days at sea like this is no joke, it really is a big accomplishment on many levels. It is not lost on me, that is for sure.
I am watching this now as I type. So Great! I love you guys so much! I love how you are living and making the most of everything, and yet still chill, real and human. I love seeing all the meals Nikki cooks. I love seeing the kitty's. I love feeling like I'm part of this journey. How smart doing the rope thingy. Pretty drone shots. Good catch Jason! Yay! So inspiring. Thank you! Congrats on the fish! Holy Cow!
For me, your best vlog yet. You really captured your adventure....I felt it. From the puppet show on the sails to your poetry rendition of your experience and the caught fish. Certainly, one of the most professional yet entertaining vlog from the SV's. ps x
Hey Jason, don't feel negative about what you've said on camera. I've love every minute of the passage. And I really enjoyed your reflections of what you've thought and how you've felt. Yes, yes , what you've done is a really cool thing. Thanks for shearing it with me.
I think I would be craving quiet - I didn’t realize how loud sailing would be. But Nickie is a great and creative cook! What you are doing is amazing and awesome - thank you so much for sharing your adventure! It is your being real that makes your adventure so interesting to watch and reality is never all good, easy and pretty! I think what amazes me the most is your bravery when tackling something so potentially dangerous and your steadfast willingness to figure it all out. Well done! And that fish was so beautiful!
Jason you don't need to be a boring wordsmith to explain how you feel. You explain yourself really well as we travel the same passage with you Nikki and the cats. With your videos which are of professional quality production and editing we see and somehow feel your emotions the highs and lows. The routine actually helps and the unexpected a joy. Without routine your journey would become too dangerous and anyway you get to see such wonderful seas and skies which must be breathtaking and emotionally sustaining. Once on land it will take you some time to get back your land legs and I bet you will soon want the isolation of Curiosity sooner than you think. There's not many YT videographers that I look forward to seeing however yours and Nikki's are the exception. I wish you all a safe final leg passage and look forward to your excitement on seeing land..."land ahoy" take care.
That was one of your all time classic videos,,,,,you guys have come a long way baby.....im so proud of you jason and nikki with the catch,,,,thats not just a fish its a CATCH....Coming from Texas taugh you well nikki,,,,,love, love, love it!
I absolutely love you guys, your videos have been the soul and eyes of the world in your view. You have been my brother and sister from another lifetime and my eyes to a world I’ll never travel. But I won’t have to because you have shown me more than I realized is out there. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Hey guys. Taking a day off from editing and work to enjoy some videos. Jason your drone catching skills have improved since Alaska. I still remember Lynn cringing when whacking fish on the boat.
I've sailed for 2 years. You guys are doing great ! I understand about long crossing. When you guys are done doing the sailing thing take my word for it you will never be the same or see things in the same way. Good job guys.
Jason there's nothing wrong with saying multiple days at Sea sucks . They can be richly rewarded at times and a bloody nightmare. It's all about just completing the journey. I hope that beer when you got into Port was fantastic mate.
Its amazing how a little water and wind (or lack of) can push you to the brink of madness. There are people who say they wouldnt be scared. There are some who are to stupid to be scared when they should be. Then there are those who are Gone with the Wynns
I really appreciate your respect for the fish; it came across as real and heartfelt. I guess this is the biggest roller coaster ride you've ever had, which is the best way to live life; a flatline is synonymous with death. Much respect for what you have both accomplished in such a short time. it's a privilege to share your doubts and uncertainties.
The stressful drone work y'all did was worth it for the epic footage of y'all out there all alone. I was already freaked out by the very idea of being that remote on the open ocean but seeing it really drove it home. I salute you for the passage you two just did. If it was easy, everybody would do it!
As always, what can be said that hasn't been. You are both amazing, accomplished, very in tune with life, fortunate, brave, and living what most of us can only imagine. Enjoy each moment because your memories will be abundant. Safe ⛵️ !
Thanks again for sharing guys. It's funny to think you posted this video after you landed... Jason, your words are poetry 'cause they are not messed around with too much - from the heart.
Wait til you hit land. You take a few steps and then realize that solid land is waving up and down, because your balance system anticipates it. I lived on and off 3 years on a boat. My fav recipes are roast chicken and peaches (nothing else), and lamb burgers pressed in cracked multicolor peppercorns and garlic salt. Roasted potatoes on the grill --cut in half and rub with olive oil, seasoned. Asperagus grilled same. Salad. And of course the home made wine. That's what i remember from the boat. Oh and one fabulous rack of BBQ'd elk ribs. Thanks for your wonderful videos. Love both of you and the wide beautiful seas. Your kitties may need a worming if they eat raw fish. Fabulous swordfish. Good job!
Well done! the drone footage was spectacular. Funny how the image of your vessel from so far away or high overhead, really does make you look insignificant against the sea. Jason, a veggie burger? really? You need a good old fashioned all beef monstrosity with all the fixings. Especially if you are going to manhandle another fish from the sea.lol The Woodlands, Texas
For toothy Critters always use wire! There are dozens of videos on TH-cam for rigging up and drag setting, to whatever is available in your area. If you hook-up into a big fish, drop your sails, or pull out of gear. Never horse a fish in! There is less chance of a break-off, a fish spooling you. When you get a chance, get rid of your cadmium plated hooks. A lost fish with a cadmium hook in him, is a fish waiting to die, not to mention a few hundred yards of line to wrap around props, shafts, and hapless sealife. Please Be Well, and Stay Strong, Will, and Karen
Beautiful video as always. Jason, you don't need to be a wordsmith as you call it. You already are because you speak from the heart. Nikki, the things you see at night can be entertaining and ut shows you have imagination. Helps pass the time. Beautiful drone shots nice save. The timing of catching the fish was perfect. The catd getting the fresh fish was definitely a nice treat for them. This passageway is an accomplishment that you will never forget. I'm very proud of you both. This definitely is not for everyone but you show I can be done. We are planning on leaving in 3 weeks to start our RV journey. Safe travels
What! Another awesome video, watching your trip is exciting. I love the fact that you have not broke down emotionally. Being alone with one other person no matter how much you love them can be taxing. You both have carried yourself off with such dignity and grace I really am enjoying your trip, Can't wait for next week and the final installment of this leg. Jason that was a great catch with the drone, glad you didn't loose it to the old man in the sea. Wow what a catch with that sword fish, awesome and you save and eat all you can, What a stack of bagged fish you had there Nikki, great filleting. Neither one of you need to be wordsmiths, you are both very entertaining and truthful. What a life lesson you are having with this new journey, traveling on land is far more action packed with all your little excursions daily but at sea is giving you the true nature of how you can handle and mature in emotional and physical growth, Thank you
I thought you did an excellent job Jason, of explaining your feelings about this long passage.....and it turned out to be what I would have expected from you.....an attitude of positivity! What an awesome fish.....you two needed and deserved those exciting moments.....
The trip so far is amazing. For only sailing for about 2 years you have done very well. Congrats of that. The fish was beautiful. Glad that you got it and now you have enough to make land. The cats seem to be doing well also. Glad that the waves have slowed and lessened a lot. The drone footage was truly amazing. Thanks for the effort for that. You guys are awesome. Thanks for taking me along. I know I will never see this part of the world. I appreciate your journey. I felt like I there with you. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and happy trails.
Hey Jason, well you said you were t a wordsmith man but what you just said about complaining and gratitude, you nailed it so well. The words flowed perfectly. You guys are so inspiring! I'd love to crew with you guys some day. South Pacific holds such a passion for me, especially the Cooks and French Polynesia. I remember a stormy day on Rarotonga and I was down at the pier and some guy screened out "hey man can you give me a hand here?" As his sailboat was nearly slamming against the pier. They were getting ready to sail to Aitutaki and I asked if I could crew my way with them there. He didn't feel comfortable cause I didn't have experience. One day. Thanks you guys and cats
Dear World-Sailors 😘😘 What I always think is, how proud you can be about what you are able to deal or struggle with. The mental power to handle the technical problems, waiting for the right moment to go, the monotone ride for three weeks on sea... you can really feel strong and happy about what you are able to do. I am especially impressed by the technical issues that you are able to manage (like the how-to-videos of you and rvgeeks for over two years now). So: feel hugged and safe travels 😘😘💪💪👍👍
What an extraordinary documentary, I could feel your emotions and even anxiety at times, yet you held it all together. I always thought of myself as someone who could take this kind of risk, but quite honestly I doubt I could, I truly admire you both for a job well done.
Small tip: get a whetstone on board. They are really small, light weight and you can sharpen anything you need to a razor edge. Makes fileting fish and shaving much easier.
Congrats on that gorgeous fish! Nicki, is there anything you can't do? Jason, you kill it every day repairing your boat issues! Love, Love you guys and your channel! Almost there! WooHoo!
I love that the cats are chill. Makes it so much more homely. I know the the North America meaning of homely means disheveled but the British term means more comfortable and home. I'm in envy that you are not shackled down with kids and mortgages. I'll live through you guys. Keep in keeping on.
Gettin close. It’s hard to wait for the videos knowing you’re already there and we are all a few months behind but... oh well. I own your drone and I thwart the proximity sensor by backing it in. I fly around, then get to within about fifty feet and swing it around and back it in. Super easy, super stable even under sail. Just time the bobbing while it hovers off one of the bows if they are free of lines, then reach up and grab it as a wave goes under the bow. Just a thought.
Guys I have watched a few of your episodes now, I am loving the honesty and the story behind the the reality of what sailing truly entails. I am really impressed that, despite all the ups and downs(excuse the pun,) you guys find a way to make all your followers smile .... somewhere within each days journey. I don't think anyone is truly more nb than the other relative to the "Curiosity." Naturally the men following will be blown away by Nicki's raw talent for the ocean, but I think you guys make one hell of a team, and we all rooting for you guys.... as per Dennis and his quote below, it's just amazing what you guys are accomplishing, and frankly Jason is finding his sea legs now.... (more smiles from him too) You guys are are gonna be just fine. Big UP to Ya.....
Yea, I agree. And the normal flexible fillet knife is the way to go. Start at the head and just run it along the backbones all the way to the tail. Wing it from there.
I take a first pass just to cut the skin and then come back sweeping down the bones toward the spine, letting them guide the knife. Fileting is a skill and it takes practice.
Don't take this advice as criticism. These people are only trying to help you. Just wished they could have pointed out where the bones are before you had to fillet the fish. Where were we last week?
Nikki and Jason. Boy those drone shots really put you in perspective as to what a small speck you are in that massive ocean. Loving the cooking you do and I can only imagine how good that smells at sea. That Spear fish. Holy cow. Huge! I am not a sailor and the Sailing Zatara you tube show is what got me hooked on watching sailors. Also Sam Holmes has a great channel. Thanks for such beautiful video editing and sharing your souls with the world.
You both are very special and you should be very proud of yourselves for taking on this incredible challenge to sail the big blue sea. I must say that you both have a lot of determination and courage. I take my hat off to both of you! Also, I love the way you two work together and love each other. Nikki, I know you already know this, Jason has a wonderful soul and I could see that it deeply effected him by killing that fish, which is why it is so important to honor the creatures that feed us. The bat was humane so you go girl! Thank you for sharing your adventures. Namaste...
So basically you're not only adept sailors but you are also technically naval aviators and fully carrier qualified!! A couple more #Wynns for the Wynns! You guys can do anything! Thanks for another fantastic #Wynnday video Funday!
Wow!!!!!! I love the personal one on one talks...it makes you all seem more real...not actors!!! I super loved the drown shots!!!!!! And what a catch!! That fish was H U G E!!! Also, I love your passion for each other for adventure!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!
I'm so much enjoying the passage across the ocean. I know that it is mainly because I'm not there probably. I do also enjoy watching you too interact for so many days without the distractions of some interesting destination. It causes a different dialogue. It's interesting watching you solve problems in the open ocean where you have no other resources but what's available to you on your boat. I'm also impressed on how ready you are for a voyage and things are still breaking down. If anybody should have been prepared for that long of a journey it should have been yours. Not necessarily related to your journey but I was watching Neil deGrasse Tyson and I was thinking you at the same time. Apparently when you cross the Equator on the ocean you are actually several thousand feet higher than Mount Everest is from the center of the Earth because of the Bulge equator on the Earth. I also believe that when you were in Ecuador may have also been the one that he was talking about if you climbed it you were a mile and a half fire then Mount Everest from the center of the Earth. Fun fact not relevant to anything you're doing and I'm aware that these are posted you probably are Maddie made it to lanso I just wanted to share that little factoid with you. Really enjoy watching videos and crossing the ocean de facto through your videos is fun. When I get tired of the waves and the ocean sounds I go onto another video or send it off and go lay down. Enjoying everything you're putting out keep it up thank you so much for sharing everything with us.
OK, OK, OK. I gotta stop again and compliment you both on some fabulous drone footage at 8:30 min. Over-the-top guys, over-the-top !! Just makes me understand (and, most likely, everybody else), just what a daunting accomplishment you are sharing with us. 👍👌👊
Congratulations on a huge accomplishment! You're almost there in this one. This time while you're slowly approaching the finish line is the time to reflect back and begin to take it all in. Knowing this is probably time delayed by a couple of weeks at least, I hope it was all you both dreamed it would be! - Congratulations also on your big catch, part of your reward for a job well done no doubt! - As always, thanks for bringing us along to share in the adventure. It's a pleasure I'm sure we look forward to every Sunday!
I'm planning an Alaska road trip so I've been going back and watching your episodes from three years ago. I'm so used to seeing the sailing Wynns, its fun to go back and watch the land sailors in action! ;)
Thanks for the video! I know it took a lot of effort to do the drone footage but wow you now have shots of curiosity in the middle of no where and it will be there for you to look back on and remember your huge passage! Almost there!!!
If you are bored or don't like the sailing then go semi competition, sail the cat, best SOG to wind speed, play with the sail setup, fine tune the sails and enjoy it. Also keeps you fit trust me as your doctor would say ! Daytime only if that makes you happy. But get a buzz and work to the edge of the envelope. I used to happily sit on the main all day trimming it for the best I could get. You are not there for just luxury cat sailing, you are there to enjoy the sport of sailing and that will help breaking up boring passages. Play with ze boat. But glad to see the tempo has lifted and you are nearly on land. Personally I would love to crew that cat and see what she can do (not talking about the 2 moggies as we call them ! lol) Nikki the tapas looks good, so cook book suggestion earlier not so stupid, ignoring the possible green backs !LOL Great effort guys:)
I can't believe you left us with a cliff hanger! This sail is a huge accomplishment; it so much more than what most sailors will do in a life time let alone the general population. I have been sailing my whole life and the longest I have ever been at sea is 3 days. Congratulations. Thank you for sharing your journey in such a thoughtful and beautiful way :)
Jason, you are so stoked! What an amazing journey you are experiencing! Love your videos, can't get enough! You both do an amazing job expressing your feelings. Jason, you're a poet, didn't know it. That makes you extra special. Keep on, keep on! Safe journey, Lynne
So much good stuff in this one. The drone, the instrument display, the big catch. A little on the soft shackle and how its holding up. An engine fix. A lot of waxing about having finished the trip before finishing the trip. I find that getting in after a long voyage seems to take forever, much longer than I expected, and your brave, I'm too superstitious to talk about getting in until I have actually gotten in. "I haven't committed to anything for 24 days", yeah, try having kids, it goes on forever.......
When landing the drone, if you put it in sport mode it will deactivate the proximity sensors and stop pulling away at the last second every time. Just make sure you’re comfortable with full control! Love those shots!
They eat better at sea than some people do like ever lol, Nikki has a divine touch with food :-) Also, Jason has much more of a way with words than he gives himself credit for in this video. I teared up at his capturing of this experience and his willingness to be vulnerable and genuine.
Although there maybe many boredom moments, but the whole voyage and experience really are fascinating and exciting that many would envy. Less than 200 miles before land that’s very exciting.
Love Sunday mornings just as much as Singa loves his Sushi. 😀😻🐟. Continue to stay safe and can't wait to see your excitement once you arrive. Glad you are able to keep in touch with Kent, he's a great friend.
Hopefully when my husband and I get the chance to sail as well we can all meet. You guys are encouraging and I LOVED the view, that is what we are looking forward too. Just us the water, and delicious fish. We love fishing. I do feel bad for killing them but they just taste so delicious and it’s healthy. I would eat a fish over a burger any day. Can’t wait for your pictures from land.
Thank you once again, it just gets better and better. I loved it all but especially the amount of fish you got from one catch. With wind power to move, solar power for ennegrey. and the sea to feed you, and making fresh water from salt water, it is as near self sufficiency as you could get. Stay safe.
This video and you are absolutely beautiful and amazing... Wow what a fish. So we have that same drone and I'm always scared to lose it! I completely understand how you felt! Thanks so much for your sharing!
Just watched the alaska nail in the RV tire and have to say how his funny "go with the flow, let's wing it" attitude was enjoyable to watch. Plus subscribed, like both of your personalities!
AMAZING! The drone footage really captures how small you are in the vast ocean. Metaphor for life itself. Grateful for every moment. Safe passage and more wind, please!
Another superb video. Great job at ALL you do. With all the boxes checked, you two are ROCK STARS of life and adventure. It’s a pleasure to be included. 👍🇺🇸😎
Great video. Almost a little emotional there at the end when you tell us what this epic undertaking has meant to you. Your ability to convey personal reflections and feelings like that sets the video apart.
Another amazing sail, you have had such wonderful weather, and what a catch, Jason the fish was taller than you, Nikki , You are still serving very artistic meals 24 days in, can't wait for you to touch land, Have a wonderful week, really looking forward to next week. Thank You! Makes this old salt , Live vicariously feeling that cat 's motion. When you think about the size of the cat, you are just a dot in the ocean, Enjoy it all.
Seriously appreciate all that you share, Jason no need to be a wordsmith what you two do is totally amazing. Thank you again for sharing this beautiful journey.
well done guys - I've been watching since the early yacht videos and you guys have done so much. you should feel HUGELY proud having done what you did. All the best on future adventures. Jelly!
You have my respect and admiration for making your long passage with only two of you aboard. When I did Cabo to the Marquesas in 2016 on a 45 foot monohull we had three crew which worked out well with three hour night watches. We did not fly a spinnaker at night which IMO is a bit risky especially short-handed. You must have to really monitor the radar carefully for squalls. One tip for flying your spinnaker is to run a second line (guy) from the tack to the leeward bow to stabilize it a bit.
Love your videos! You guys always have such a positive attitude. Great photography, but flying a drone at sea looks pretty scary! A spinnaker makes a great cruising sail on a multihull when you fly it without the main. I used to do it all the time on my 40’ tri. You might try putting two sheets on each corner of the sail, one to the bow and one to the back of the boat. It allows you position the sail anywhere you want in front of the boat with out leaving the cockpit. You can gybe without using the sock, and moving the sheets. You can also triangulate the windward corner with a sheet to each bow, so it doesn’t move around so much. That was an amazing fish you caught! I sure wish you would put detachable lifelines across the front of your sugar scoop! One slip and you could be in the water. Thanks for sharing your amazing adventures!
The drone shot was great!!! such a sense of the vastness of the ocean and the smallness of human ingenuity. Higher would have been even better, but it looks like you threaded that one perfectly and the drone survived the mission.
Thanks for the drone footage! Even though it was risky, it gave such a good reminder of how vast the ocean is and how small we all are in comparison. Such an accomplishment this trip is! Loved your monologue, Jason. You guys are so amazing.
Oh my gosh so glad to see you guys... As Jason was talking it made me think... About the sailors 200 years ago 300 years ago 400 years ago wow what they went through without the technology that you guys have but it is a great and accomplishment like climbing the highest mountain can't wait for next Sunday keep up the faith and sail forward❤❤❤❤
when steeling your filet knife you will have better luck at getting a better edge that lasts a bit longer if you bring the knife down the length of the steel as if you were going to cut threw the steel on each side of the steel. Myself like most meat cutters prefer a diamond coated flat steel verses the rounded ones because it makes keeping the angle of the blade easier and faster. A 25 to 33 degree angle works well.
Perfectly stated...this young couple are an amazing example of fortitude and determination. I have utmost respect...
@@rhondalyn100 Very well said, you two!!! Very well said indeed!!
It's nice of you to Honor the fish. Very respectful. I appreciate that. Now enjoy it! Good to know I'm not the only one that feeds my cat sushi.
Cass & Bran
Sounds like yall need your own channel? Go for it!!
Beautiful story and a great testament to the "where's a will there's a way".
My opinion! Always give thanks towards another species, if they give their life for your sustainability._*
moosemieser always : )
Holy Cow!
It is nice to watch two people that started with the sailing course and now is traveling across the ocean safely and doing it in style.
11:59 GORGEOUS view of the MASSIVE ocean behind and ahead of you!.
Aww, you two need two kittens. It gives two babies a home and helps heal your hearts . My kitties loved being on board just like yours.😻
Hey there has to be a drone to catch! 😉 What an epic day!
Y'all are amazing!!!!! We are human everyone everyone! Complains at one point or another but y'all have grit and that not everyone has! Love y'all!!!
You guys are simply one of favorite couples that are "vloging" their great adventures around the World. God Bless you!
What a life lesson you are having with this new journey, traveling on land is far more action packed with all your little excursions daily but at sea is giving you the true nature of how you can handle and mature in emotional and physical growth, Thank you
I see your current voyage as a huge deposit in the Experience bank. You will be collecting interest on that for the rest of your lives. Travel safe.
That one drone shot showing just the boat and the open sea really put things in perspective! Thanks for sharing.
WooHoo!
Yes, we enjoyed the drone footage. Zoe cheered when he caught the drone, too.
I love that the cats are chill. Makes it so much more homely.
I know the the North America meaning of homely means disheveled but the British term means more comfortable and home.
I'm in envy that you are not shackled down with kids and mortgages. I'll live through you guys. Keep in keeping on.
Oh man, you definitely do not have to worry about sounding like a robot or being boring in what you say in your videos.
You guys are amazing!
Wow what an incredible journey with two incredible people
Guys I have watched a few of your episodes now, I am loving the honesty and the story behind the the reality of what sailing truly entails. I am really impressed that, despite all the ups and downs(excuse the pun,) you guys find a way to make all your followers smile .... somewhere within each days journey. I don't think anyone is truly more nb than the other relative to the "Curiosity."
Naturally the men following will be blown away by Nicki's raw talent for the ocean, but I think you guys make one hell of a team, and we all rooting for you guys.... as per Dennis and his quote below, it's just amazing what you guys are accomplishing, and frankly Jason is finding his sea legs now.... (more smiles from him too) You guys are are gonna be just fine. Big UP to Ya.....
Nikki,
Try fillet from the head down. From the bottom catches the ends of the bones. Slides down the bones from the top. Nice fish.
Thanks for the tip!
Don't take this advice as criticism. These people are only trying to help you. Just wished they could have pointed out where the bones are before you had to fillet the fish. Where were we last week?
They didn’t.
The boat looks so picturesque with the spinnaker flying…
It's a pleasure I'm sure we look forward to every Sunday!
watching these clips is like being on the boat with you guys. So interesting, and informative. Didn't realise what hard work it really is
I'm planning an Alaska road trip so I've been going back and watching your episodes from three years ago.
Jason...my fav part of the vid is you sharing from your heart. You're a wordsmith in your own way! PEACE OUT! Ü
A lovely video again guy's. Ooo! That was a big fish and yes I did appreciate the drone flight . It brought it home, A little boat in a big sea.
Well said Jason, especially the part about " now you are just more intimate with the world"; you may just have that poet spirit in you :)
Really Nice catch Jason .
Nice to see you both out on the Ocean enjoying the winds on your tails and the cats get to have part of the catch also .
GREAT CATCH! Catching for food is different than sport, of course you're using as much as you know how to use! Hope it tasted as good as it looked!
I agree the two of you should be congratulated for your accomplishments it is hard to believe that Yes 2 years ago you were RVers!
Seriously appreciate all that you share, Jason no need to be a wordsmith what you two do is totally amazing. Thank you again for sharing this beautiful journey.
Boy I will be glad to get back on land. I have been sea sick for almost a month now. Thank u guys for the ride.
watching your adventure...Just WOW!
well done guys - I've been watching since the early yacht videos and you guys have done so much. you should feel HUGELY proud having done what you did.
Great catch on the spearfish. Almost there.
