Back in 1983 when I was 18 or 19 years old I used one of these (it was under the Ibanez brand then). People were always very complimentary about the Guitar sound I got. I had no idea what I was using at the time and only just re-discovered this little thing thanks to you tube. You don't when you're that age. It was just something you trod upon when a melody part was needed. Now 37 years later I think it's about time to try one out again.
My first pedal was a Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face (wish I still had it) , then I purchased an SD 9 in the early eighties... other pedals have come and gone but this beast I always return too; its killer!
Interesting. We've found a lot of players use the Tone control to dial in just the right amount of pick attack. Check out some of our OD808 videos; I believe Ray Suhy (Six Feet Under/Cannabis Corpse) and Dan Gargiulo (Revocation) talk about this very specifically in their demos.
Yea great playing. I have to say I never heard of ur group. But ur an interesting player. I Like the funky stuff at 2:00 mixed in with blues rock licks.
LOL... you can't be serious! The SD9 one of the brightest pedals around; its really in your face and will cut your head off if you don't back the tone control till almost zero! You can get 'brown' sound silky overdrive to shredding metal with this pedal. Perhaps you need some lessons on how to use it... the input from the source (guitar) level is all important!
Not only a great demo for the SD9 this is probably the standard for how a pedal demo should go. Cheers!
Absolutely
Thank you, Dani! I've got an SD-9 but I did not know the TONE knob trick. I've tried it and now I can see that it's a great versatile pedal

Very nice demo, tremendous chops, fantastic tone. Gonna buy it!
awesome demo, thx a lot
To be honest I wasn't expecting this to sound very good. But, good god it sounds amazing!
Yeah, a bit of that has to do with Dani ;-). But seriously it's one of my favorite Overdrives. Period.

literally the best distortion pedal ever.
maxon is the original for the ts. incredible style there
You got that right!
Maxon made most of the pedals for Ibanez... so any Ibanez SD-9 is still a Maxon!
niiice! enjoy your playing. great tone as well!
Seen his band twice verrryyy good live
Beautiful Beck style chops
wow! i want it, cool demo, thanks!

Best! The one and only
what are/were the settings in the amp specially in the clean channel? thanks for your videos man
hi , what speaker are you using in your cab ? thanks
what unit is the 'octave synth patch' coming from?
Eventide pitch factor
Sweet riff at 1:21!
Where did you get that strap?!
heartwoods!
Great tone and playing! what model of CAE is this head?sounds great!
Classic +
thanks!
ARE YOU COLD?
My only concern is how backing off the SD-9 tone knob to 1/10th severely dulls the plectrum attack.

anyone know what rev was used
Hmmm, it's been a while. We'll shoot him a message and see what he says.
You look like Ritchie Kotzen
Or at all

Playing is "ok", but demo a pedal...horrible😬
Feel free to check out any of our other demos featuring the Maxon SD-9. Especially the one with Oz Noy and the one with Scott Henderson.
I will =)
@Crux Of The Biscuit LOL get the wax out of your ears bud!
@Crux Of The Biscuit It's just sad you can't appreciate such a great player.
