I loved the first Toby MaGuire Spider-Man! I'm starting to sound like a serial weeper, but I teared up multiple times in the first half of that movie, seeing my favorite hero realized. I love it movie, it's one of my all-time favorites. I have watched the scene soooo many times when he wakes up the morning after being bitten, and he says "oh yeah, big change!" And although Spider-Man 3 wasn't good overall, I'm in the minority of having loved seeing Toby MaGuire ham it up as Peter with the cool-guy clothes and the guy-liner, and I love the goofy dance scene. What I didn't like was the villains and the rest of the plot.
As for the Andrew McCarthy films, I liked the first one, and I liked him in the role! And Emily Stone and Dennis Leary, they were good IMO. And I never get sick of watching the origin of Spider-Man. I am in the minority that wishes they'd done it yet again with Tom Holland.
@@Kirok2005 I loved Tobey too, he's my favorite Spiderman. I agree that the villains and plot were a problem with the third movie though
I wasn't a big fan of the Amazing Spider-Man movies, that's just me though. I did like seeing Andrew, Tobey, and Tom all in the same movie though

Great video! Alas, I only have one of the 6, ASM #300 (direct) 9.6 WP. And my copy has a slightly crooked wrap, but I got it a bit below FMV (at the time). As for my top 10 Spider-Man comics, I'll throw in one that isn't really a key, but it will always have a special place in my heart. Amazing Spider-Man #248 (the second story in the issue) is "The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man." I bought it new when I was in college, read it in my dorm room, and I'm glad I was alone, because I cried. On many top 10 lists of the best spider-man stories of all time (not books to collect...stories to read). I implore anyone reading this...if you've never read it, do so if you love what makes Spider-Man the best ever.

@@momoonocollects I mostly collect golden age sci-fi/horror/westerns but love silver age superhero books too. I only have a handful of silver age Spider-man books but hope to grab an AF15 one day.

I have a copy of Silver Surfer 14 that appears to be flawless, and I'm thinking about getting it slabbed, but I'm genuinely in fear of it getting damaged in transit, or by negligence in the grading process😵. Congrats on the Silver Surfer 14, awesome comic! I get that, there is always a risk. There's always a risk though of it getting damaged in a bag and board 🤷♂️
@Geoffreydarcy-pv4mq I've submitted over 200 comics to CGC since 2012, and I've only had a handful where I definitely noticed defects that weren't there before. There is a small risk with any 3rd party grading service regardless of collectible, cards, coins, comics, magazines, video games, etc. It's a low risk, but it all depends on your tolerance for humans that can sometimes make human mistakes. I'd put the chance of damage at 3-4% based on my sample size. And fortunately, none of my big money (for me) books were among the small subset that got damaged.

I was actually in sales most of my career, so I got paid more the better I performed. I recommend that over hourly when you get paid the same no matter how well you do
From there I spent a lot less than I earned and invested the rest. That strategy really worked out for me

Another awesome video. A monster grade on that AF 15 and it looks near perfect - no marvel chipping, no tears, no rips no stains. spine looks flawless. congrats on these massive grails! I do think u r missing one big spidey key tho (2nd only to AF 15 imo) - ASM 50. Thanks for the great content!

Yeah, it was so difficult not to fit ASM 50 on the list. I agree it's one of the biggest Spidey keys there is. Imo it suffers because Kingpin isn't on the cover (though the cover is amazing)
But realistically it's an easy argument to make that it should be on this list and if nothing else it would be my 2nd honorable mention 😆

Your honorable mention is the best book hands down 🙏 carnage is the best and in time, people will see his superiority. I've got zero love for Golden and silver age books, I'm 30, I wasn't reading that. Value wise ur probably right but I'm of the opinion that it's better to actually collect what you love, not what you kinda like but it's more valuable. Just me tho

Fantastic collection and great list. I'll throw my hat in the ring with a top 5 list:
1) AF #15
2) ASM #3
3) ASM #1 (started the most iconic run of all time!)
4) ASM #50
5) ASM #39 (first Romita on ASM)
My son and I are collecting AF 15 to ASM 100 and currently have right at 50 issues. We knocked out AF 15 (CGC 2.5 blue label) first by trading our 6 "grails" at the time plus some cash and have zero regrets.

Like 3 - 4 years it’s a grind my boy said i was crazy but I was into deep!! But I am almost there now the biggest book I need is asm 3

Love your top 5(6)!! being a life long Spider Man fan, Would find it hard to pick another 5 to round out a top 10, but will think on it and add a post! AF 15 would be a dream come true! I have a #300 in excellent shape! Thinking of getting it graded. What do you think? Great content as always!
Thanks, appreciate it! Yeah, I like having my 300 graded. I'd only keep it raw if you didn't want to read it, but even then you can always find a beat up copy for cheap. So if it were me, yeah I'd grade it. Up to you though

Top 10 would be the 6 you listed(including the HM), plus ASM 1, ASM 2, ASM 50, and or course ASM 121( game changer in comics history). Honorable Mention would be ASM Annual 1!

If you think your 9.8 first Carnage hasn’t a shot at a 9/9 then you should see that Giant size Xmen 1 9.9 that was given with a golden fork when it’s got too many flaws. It’s who you are in this hobby meaning dealer or auction house where they will get you what you want. Hence why Mr Pink was given that 9.9 on comic connect

I consider the DITKO41 to be PRICELESS! This means there are 9 spots available for a Top 50 and the first appearance of Mary-Jane would be on that list! (Guess I have to settle for Marvel Tales reprints!)

Killer list man... Also a huuuuuuge Spidey fan here! We have the same grade issue 3! Love that book! My pc are mostly raw though as I've read all my books after getting them. I bought my 2-5 and 9 raw from my lcs back in 2017. A few years later, I decided to send them to cgc. Grades all came back as expected! Great videos and books! My holy grail would be AF 15 so I'm super jealous man! When did u get it and what did that cost u if I may ask? Is it trimmed or just glued and color touched?

Yeah, I'm a big Spidey fan for sure. It's just glue and color touch, C-1 so not extensive. I got it on comiclink for 32k

I have been able to hold AF 15 5 time in my hands so far also, found a TMNT #3 1985 a 3th printing at a Half Price Books for $51 and bought it right then and there.

Can you please tell me between spidey 2-13 which is the biggest key (I've got #4 1st sandman) and is it better than spidey #14? #129?
PPS I think spidey 299 9.8 is massively undervalued a future hulk ish 180 do you think will ever get to that level?
I mean for me the biggest key between 2-13 is easily 3, first Doc Oc
As far as whether it's better than issue 14, it is more valuable, but I prefer 14 because imo Green Goblin is Spideys archenemies and I prefer the cover
First Sandman is a great book, congrats! I do think 299 is probably undervalued. Do I think it'll be as big as hulk 180? Probably not just because of how many copies exist. But it's pretty low risk and I would think the value would go up over time

I agree both of those books are big Spidey keys. For me ASM 50 suffers from Kingpin not being on the cover and 121 though it has a massive impact, I tend to value first appearances more (rightly or wrongly)
That said, I was definitely struggling with whether to put ASM 50 and even ASM 1 on the list. Ultimately though they'd all be in the top 10 for me
