What was the root cause of the cool system failure? Did the tie down straps fail or this the aluminum tray fail or both? Having just bought and installed one of these, I had my reservations about how secure it would be in an incident.
The cooler and tray ripped off the front mounting bolts which allowed the cooler and straps to slide off the front of the tray. We'll be re-engineering the attachments on all our other cars now that we've seen this.
Always amazes me how much things go flying around despite safety gear, race prep, etc. Great reminder to all of us not to skimp on that stuff.

And of course it happens on the fastest part of the track. I think the cooler came out worse than you.
Did a wheel lock up?
Oil on track from a blown motor.
race marshalls should check from time to time the track state looking for oil traces or any debris in the paved surface....better luck next time
