This video is packed with techniques and tips for using the new Prima Shimmering lights and Pastel Dreams watercolors. They are different than the other Prima marketing watercolor sets and these techniques will make the paints more useful I think:) I will even tell you how to get the annoying stickers off the metal tins:)

I emailed Prima Marketing's customer service and they provided me a full color chart with their lightfast rating which is 1 star for fair, 2 good, 3 excellent (keeping in mind that I'm sure they use their own rating system which would be hard to compare to other companies). They were all 3 except for the following:
#23 Wild Berry from Tropicals - 2 stars
#25 Frosting & #34 Pistachio from Decadent Pies - 2 stars
#02 Candy from The Classics - 1 star
I also asked for ASTM information which I did not receive. They did tell me, however, that their watercolors are non-toxic.

Hi Lindsay found you a couple of yrs ago on TH-cam when I was fairly new to painting. Always loved crafts and spent many happy yrs making cards. My greatest love now is watercolour. Here in the uk we like our fancy teacups, and I'd say your doing a fine job, looks very grand, so far.
I love collecting tea cups i usually get them at charity shops at good prices,lovely piece tfs.

Hi Lindsay, Thanks for another great tutorial with yet another new product (two) that I want to try! For getting stickers off my favorite thing to use is UnDu now called Scrapbookers friend, but can use the same thing without the convenient scraping tool attached (love it, so I refill my UnDu bottles) is Rubber Cement Thinner (aka heptane found in the glue aisle at Michaels in 16 ounce cans) and way cheaper! Any gummy residue comes off easily with the orange cleaners (Totally Awesome Orange from the Dollar Tree is great!) Any oily residue from that can be cleaned off with dish soap.

Hi Lindsy I love watching you paint you have such a great knowledge about things. I just got my pastel dreams from prima yesterday, & my classics a couple of weeks ago. I've used the classics a bit but not in a regular painting. I've got mine from Amazon & Blitsy. The prices were better than Hallmark was, unfortunately. I'm going to check to see if the extra 15% off helps tho, because I'm wanting to get my granddaughters some for Christmas! With 7 of them I need a price break ❣👍🏻. As soon as I get the girls something my youngest grandson pops up with "me too" of course. Thank goodness the oldest boy, at 25 on Nov 7th doesn't do art😜😄 thanks for the extra amount off. I also took advantage of the sale at Jerry's you mentioned & got the turner set on sell. I can't wait till it gets here. Thanks for that also! Take care & I'll see you Friday on your live show. LINDSAY, the classics did come with a white and black paint. I discarded mine from the sets as well and saved the pans. Glad to know how different the new sets are as I was looking at them online the other day. Beautiful little painting! I was feeling crappy from the flu shot and watching this made me feel better. I think it's something about your voice. 😎

Lindsay, this is my very favorite painting that you've ever done...and I love your art so much. You've helped me to improve so much. Off topic..not long ago I was watching the Grace Kelly film "High Society" and I was looking at the very beautiful actress, Celeste Holm and realzed that you resemble her a lot...when she was young. I would be ALL OVER the Pastel dreams if not for no definitive lightfastness info. Even though I'm not a fine artist selling my work, I want to know that if I give a painting as a gift that it's going to stand the test of time, and you mentioned the similarity in look and texture to the Caran D'Ache crayons which I have and I believe are tested for lightfastness. Those colors at face value are lovely though!

Lindsay, this is probably my all-time favorite of your watercolor tutorials!!! I don't know if you've ever seen any of Liz Steele's teacup paintings, but hers are very pretty, too. Your macaroon oil painting was beautiful, but I have always wanted to see a tutorial on how to paint them in watercolor. The macaroon painting you showed us in your sketchbook was gorgeous! Would you please do a tutorial of macaroons in watercolor? Pretty please with sugar on top?!? ☺

Did you try Goo Gone to get the label off? It will take almost anything off. It will even take gum out of your hair without hurting anything. Just let it sit on the item you need off for about 10 minutes and it comes right off. I hope this helps. It will even remove the hard stuff that is left when you have masking tape that gets hot!

Lindsay: Can you do a comparison of the PrimaMarket Shimmering Lights with the Niji metallic paints some time in the future??
the niji are more shimmery and come in bright colors as opposed to normal metal colors

Thank you for your wonderful tutorials I have learned allot about all the watercolor mediums from you. I have been collecting allot of the ones you use. Now it's an obsession to collect more. I would like a set of professional watercolor that are actually affordable. Do you have any suggestions? White nights , schinke not sure how to spell that. The later of the two are far pricier than I like. So suggestions are very welcome. I still would love to draw, it's become important to me. Thank you again for your wonderful videos. I love tea cups

it has a glue like coating that keeps paint from staining and absorbing too quickly

Sadly not available on UK Amazon yet but I'll be reviewing them once they are. The Decadent Pies set has become my travel set I carry everywhere. I don't enjoy Tropicals quite so much but I don't have Classics. The Pastel Dreams looks designed to paint macarons with! Very garish greens and blues but I'm intrigued. I'm also interested in the beautiful Shimmering Lights set - great for painting on holiday cards!
GracieShack shack Yeah the older 3 sets are on Amazon but take 6 weeks to arrive from USA which is annoying and they realised after my video went crazy busy on affiliate purchases of it that £14.95 was a bit cheap and tripled the price, sadly. Given how much trouble you got getting each pallette it´s probably not a bad idea to leave the labels on the outside of the tin
if you take the labels off how will you remember what paint is which? My memory is rubbish. and I hardly have any paint compared to you how do you do it? those macaroons looked even more amazing than your last ones in that paint :)

Maybe the shimmering paints would have made the spoon look more realistic.
dont get me wrong I hate labels on tins they get worn and messy etc. I just wondered how you remember which is which but you are so used to your paints you can probably tell just by looking at them. lol
Colour shifting darker is a bit gouache-sounding - these look like gouache even when still in the pans.
+The Spin Doctor yes, the surface is rough in the pans, different from the others. I was skeptical but I couldn't resist and I really enjoy them especially if you ad a couple note intense colors to augment the sets like the green and blue I added. Love the Xmas card idea, thanks Rich!
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich Kristina W had a card a short while back where she did a black front with a circle on it and painted beautiful hand lettering inside with pearlescent coloured paints and I loved it but the paints are unjustifiable price here - but I think these will work for it! That would be an awesome Xmas card.
