If you run those stocker heads. Springs and valvetrain would be a good place she'd some mass and push the rpm range up. If you have not already done so. Them bee hives and retainers shed weight fast.

I'd like to see what those heads are flowing. It would be even more interesting to flow the heads with each intake and see the difference.

With your 383 build what was your header solution, and did it require any modifications to the car or the header to fit properly? My vote for the engine is leave it as you have it (looks like you need money for tires anyway). Obviously flow the heads if you want, however by building the engine back the way it was you will be giving the new manifold a true test. If you change the cam/pistons/heads, then you may know the Chinese manifold worked, but you won't' know to what extent it either accomplishes or inhibits the build.

There are several companies that make headers for C4 Corvettes, I have had Hooker headers on for some time along with OBX stainless exhaust, the only modification is to add header flanges to the exhaust system, Thanks for your input.

I wouldn’t change the heads… if you do that, that means you’re doing it for performance and it’s going to cost you a lot like you said… then the question arises.. why not thrown an Ls1 in there if your wanting performance. So personally if you’re just wanting that low end torque from your l98 and a simple reliable motor.. stick with the 383 l98 with what you already got…

I have decided to stick with the stock heads so far but I am going to still try out the new manifold if I do not like it I can always go back to the tuned port.

Those side plugs with the hole can be ordered..... They come pre-drilled for it....
I would reccomend doing main oiling mods while you can by enlarging the main feed holes into the main lifter valley oil feed.
Run a Melling Sharktooth oil pump....

Thanks for the links, I have considered the sharktooth oil pump.
