I saw Cryptopsy in Cork in Ireland. There was about 150 people there. It was the Once Was Not tour when Lord Worm was back with them. He had his chalice. He ate loads of worms. Two of my good buddies had a worm each. No way was I having one. They were huge and alive. One of the best gigs I've been to. Lord Worm is like a man possessed.
I saw them in Vancouver on that tour as well. It was insane. It was at the Balmoral Hotel which has since been shut down for being one of the most drugged out, vermin infested, dilapidated slums in the entire city. Words dont do justice just how gross this place was. The venue itself was this tiny, cramped room with virtually no stage but a riser barely a foot off the floor. Lord Worm was right up in everybody's business, doing the whole chalice bit, grabbing people by the hair pulling them up to the stage, sweating on all of us. The whole thing was so surreal honestly. One of my most memorable show experiences by far. The venue being as disgusting as it was was the icing on the cake. I thankfully never stepped foot in there again, but I'm glad I got to experience Cryptopsy there of all places.
@@AggressiveTendencies I was at the gig too but missed out on a worm. Was an amazing gig. I even got the bus up to Dublin the next day to catch them again in the music centre.
I think Flo hates talking about None So Vile, it seems like he really rejects the fact that everyone agrees that None So Vile is their best record, and it probably always will be.
Lord Worm fed me one of the slimy, dirt tasting worms. After a few weeks removed from that time seeing them, it was only then I thought ,"you know... I could have just spit it out." Lol, was fucking awesome. My mom and I spoke to Lord Worm for a while after the show. Super nice dude! We were talking about our love for thrash metal, especially Sepultura.
It could have been worse. I know personally as a drummer that when I'm under extra duress, like sleep deprivation or hangover, I play even better. Just because my intrusive mind is distracted by these extra obstacles to interfere with the drumming. I've heard that philosophy from others as well. Being backed in a corner without the option flight will often give you some rad results.
I miss Lord Worm. If only he'd come back again and give us that double album he had mentioned before he left again.. once was not is a very underrated album and one of my favorites
I saw these guys in 2016 for the first time. Met Matt briefly to express my appreciation for the show and is work. Really cool guy and he does enjoy the fans to the max. He took time out to sell shirts and talk with all of us. Great show! Great band!
I don't care what anyone says, mat is a great performer. Met him after the show as well and he was a genuinely nice guy and he really cares about the fans. Kicked the shit out of me with his hair as I was a foot from him the entire show lol
@@soliderfromtf2 Listen to None So Live, Martin LaCroix is a much better vocalist than McGachy. It doesn't matter, though, Cryptopsy has been a generic deathcore band for most of their life now. I was at the first return of lord worm. It was the first "none so vile" tour at the old "Key Club " on sunset Blvd in Hollywood!!!! amazing.. I've been hooked on this band ever since! Especially with influences leaking into my writing style.
first two albums are great, but i think once was not is really close being the best. it has amazing audio quality for being this kind of music, and i dont mean death metal should have great quality but on that album it was spot on.
Like every incarnation. Has a different vibe every time/album. Takes some strong musical skills to pull it off in every form. It would sends most of the bands back to the drawing board, not being able to adapt. Every release seems to have some kick ass songwriting and brilliant riffs and timing parts. I like bands that can keep evolving and adapt. Tip my hat to them!
Saw them the other night in Dublin and they killed it! I always feel it must be strange for vocalists who came after the bands highest point. Like the new Cryptopsy album is great and they sounded great, but the crowd wanted to hear None So Vile. Must be tiring The same with Sepultura, even though Quadra was actually phenomenal , the fans still want to hear the Cavalera classics. Need to be respectful towards the band. Love from ireland x
I saw them for first time here in Brazil in 2014 with Matt , it's fuckin insane but i wish it was with Lord Worm....fortunately they played almost whole None so Vile!!
He left the band because of bad health and it doesn't really seem like he wants to be back in the band, too. Get over it, he didn't write the music anyways, only the lyrics.

@ov6021 not saying the band sucks without him but imagine guns and roses without Axl on vocals. Suffocation is an amazing band but it isn't as good without frank on vocals. Some people are irreplaceable.

I'm sorry to hear you passed up the chance of being given a worm by Lord Worm himself :(
