as hard of a watch this movie was, it was extremely healing to me. i'm a sexual abuse survivor and i've been going through the motions of unearthing repressed memories. it's a very isolating and sickening feeling that just follows you around like a cloud. i just needed something, anything to make me feel like i wasn't alone, despite knowing that so many people in the world have experienced the same thing i have. i'm not ready to talk to anyone face to face about this yet, so watching this made me feel like i had a parallel with my own experience; someone else who is feeling the same gut-wrenching feeling of trauma alongside me.
gregg araki is one of my favourite directors, my love for his work grows with every movie i see, and this one is absolutely no exception. i'll forever be grateful to him for this movie.

Just watched Araki's 1992 The Living End for the first time on TH-cam. And I can definitely say Watch It!
