Vdv out of semi is massive setback. Two new lads add bith of depth to team even if they are short of playing time lately. Liverpool wont be as poor on thursday but if we can play with heart and guts we can ge a positive result. I went back and watch Danso highlights for Austria and it struck me we kind of play like them. They were more defensively sound but the players, especially the fully backs took up similar positions

Europa league is likely where the club and Ange are focusing on now as it gets us into the Champions League. Not risking VDV's long term recovery in a cup game where our chances of winning are low is probably the prudent approach.

I think its really positive that Ange is putting the health of VDV, and the potential of european knockout stage run, over just this one semi-final.

This squad will be unbeatable in a couple of years when our players age into their peak years. Especially if we stick with ange, as theyre only going to get better at excecuting anges system.

My biggest fear about that is our star players - Van de Ven, Romero, Porro, Kulusevski, whatever will not waste 3-4 more years until they can win, and we can all see what's our squad is capable of when they're not playing - straight up replacing them would be close to impossible, especially players like VdV who are literally made for our system and finding a player of his characteristics would really be a miracle.
So I'm aware that we have to be patient but at the same time our squad will just completely break apart once again if we don't win anything. Kind of like our previous generation faded away with Dembele, Kane, Verthongen, Alderweireld, Lloris, Walker, etc leaving (although most of them left because they were old, but you get what I mean)

It’s a revolving door and the best will be snapped up by bigger/better paying clubs, we’re creating a conveyor belt of talent for profit not to grow into champions tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes and the strategy proves that winning today will never be the priority, you can only hope to nick the odd cup at opportune moments in the cycle.
If we stay injury free, the last two seasons suggest that’s quite a task.

Theres no reason to think that EPL players are in particular made of glass or whatever - so naturally one can assume the amounty of injuries will go back to a normal amount that ange is used to

It’s funny listening to people who’ve never played at a decent level speculate about injuries haha he was cleared to play. He got through it without re-injury. After games your muscles have to recover, and when you’ve spent so much time off x, that atrophy requires longer recovery periods. That’s it. Just needs full rest between hard actions in order to make sure he doesn’t play while it’s still recovering, which puts it in a weakened state.
VDV will play against Villa. Danso will also come tomorrow and sunday. Tel will be on subs bench tomorrow.
I don't want to see Kulu or Moore on RW position. First one is not good there, and Moore just won't be able to compete against shelfs like Van Dijk and Konate. So maybe put Tel there would be the right thing, as he's very skilled and physically strong winger who doesn't care about giants on the way. But yeah, it also very risky to put him against Liverpool straight on his debut
But i think 4-2-3-1 lineup will be chosen anyways to be more defensively positioned

The injuries mounting are preposterous and the fact that VDV was released from the medical and coming out injured again is awful from the medical team. New revamp of the medical team would be ideal at this point
A revamp of owners, Manager and coaching staff would be ideal also.
They are nursing him and not rushing him back until he is 100% ready. He got through 45min against Brentford and they are being cautious. Ange mentioned this in his latest presser....
