Also thank you Blanca, Marion Proctor, Miss Shelly, Jackie Seckinger, Ronnie Crosby all for your powerful testimony! Rest in peace Maggie, Paul, Stephen, Gloria, Mallory, Hakeem and all the other victims, both known and unknown!
In my experience as a jurist, we reached a unanimous verdict in 5 minutes. And perhaps due to some type of consideration or other, we were chambered an additional 55 minutes before returning to the court. With the preponderance of evidence presented by the People here, I’m certain the jury once assembled in their chambers, voted unanimously guilty in a relative length of time when they performed their initial anonymous poll. Thank goodness for their professionalism in making sure justice was properly served.
Unanimous verdict in 5 minutes. Wow. That's really scary. Unless someone is caught in the act of committing a crime, there are always pieces of evidence that aren't a good fit or are maybe even irrelevant. The fact that 12 people have zero questions about such things is either because they don't care to take the time to hammer them out, or they simply aren't bright enough to see where they exist. All this tells me is our justice system already has a foot in the toilet.
In all fairness, this jury did NOT reach that verdict in 5 minutes. They were forced to sit through weeks of trial at hours a day. They may have "reached a verdict" in "3 hours" but lets be honest their opinions were formed somewhere during all that testimony and presentations of irrefutable evidence.
RIGHT! First, they showed autopsy photos of Maggie on Tuesday by accident because Camera man did not turn camera away and then now they just showed the entire world the jury... smh
Great job to the jury! Also, that guy is huge . Those victims had zero chance with his size and the gun (unless they had one and a great shot).I did not watch the trial (just the highlights) to see that but I did know the details of the case. Justice served
Yeah he's like 6'4 I believe. He's lost a lot weight since being incarcerated compared to what he used to look like. He was probably 240+ at the time of the murders. Big guy for sure.
Did anyone notice that the courtroom camera panned across the entire jury as Alex was led from the room? I didn't think any jurors were to appear on camera during a trial, for fear of some sort of reprisals.
When will the courts stop treating the jurors as sheeplike adolescents who don't read or watch the news and are so easily influenced by outside opinions?
Since the Judge works for me, John Q. Public, I would like to say a few words: This case is a fine example of an outstanding Judge that maintains strict control of his courtroom by way of overwhelming fairness. Like the best football games, you don’t even notice the referee’s presence.
The plain fact that during the reading of the verdict, he accepted the verdict witha head nod and just taking it in.. speaks VOLUMES. If you werent guilty, youd be DEVASTATED and screaming and/or crying no. NOT accepting of the verdict. I hope he rots in jail.
So horrible that man, and what he did to his family, friends, and his clients, I am SO pleased with this Jury that SAW through him. He should NEVER be turned back loose on society to steal or harm again. Jury was smart, they were not fooled like the OJ Simpson, Casey Anthoney jurors. They nailed it, I thank them.
I hope the civil lawsuits strip his family of their wealth also. Sorry Buster, but its time you earn a check the hard way like the rest of us...the Murdaugh's legacy must end!!

Earlier I asked myself I didn't know if Alex Murdaugh was arrogant or ignorant or both. And based on my observation of him during the trial and the sentencing I got the answer: and it was both.
there was not enough evidence so i am sure they are surprised. He tried to take the fall for buster again, as the younger dead son was made to before, and it didnt work. As it was not going to when paul was going to not go to prison for buster - ended up dead right when the court case was going for that and didnt look good, i bet buster is smirking - again

I think you’re right! I see a man with so much privilege, potential, and opportunity to do and be great. He was born with power and was naturally persuasive and magnetic he could have been a force for good. For such a big man he’s nothing more than a shell, It’s tragic!!
Because you are human being Shannon, no shame in feeling sadness for a man who sent his life in a tragic direction, we are all susceptible to making stupid mistakes, maybe not to the same scale of this man’s. He was (from what I read, I am a London boy) a respected man within his community and is probably relatable to many. Of course, i am putting his victims first within my thoughts.
@@scotty20040 Respected is an understatement (key point is past tense). His father and grandfather created a legacy within that community, and they basically had some say in every form of the legal system there from officers, lawyers, to judges for decades probably over a century. Very big and powerful last name that man had
@@scotty20040 In that courtroom it actually had a portrait of his grandfather hanging up that the judge had to have ordered removed for the trial
First time alex has ever been held responsible for anything!!
Anything , anything 😂

I like this judge a lot.
Here he was, unlike the OJ judge, holding court for the most profiled case of this century with camera's, the media, etc....and to this judge, IT WAS JUST ANOTHER DAY.....LOVED LOVED LOVED THE WAY HE HELD HIS COURT!!
Justice was served!! Praying for the family 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
He's a monster. This is justice. His son was relaxed when he died. He wasn't on alert. His father ambushed him, and killed his wife too. He doesn't deserve to start another life when he ended two amazing ones he himself brought into his life. He was supposed to protect them. How anyone can consider this, is insane.
well let's be fair. his son was no where near amazing. his son was a drunken idiot who also caused the death of Mallory but no one deserves to be murdered. justice was indeed served. thankfully.
His "amazing son Paul killed a young girl by drunken negligence. Not too amazing is it? Just deserts is more appropriate. I hope her family finds some type of solice.
@@doriangrey9702 not saying Paul deserved to be killed, and by his own father to boot, but he wasn't a sympathetic character given what we've learned about him in the last two years. Its kinda hard to feel any sympathy for that family overall.
He didn’t ended 2 amazing lives his son was on his way to become someone just like his dad or even worse and Maggie wasn’t a saint either that whole family is a bunch of evil mfs im not saying he don’t deserve to be punished for killing his family but Paul and Maggie were no saint
@@lisabradford8180 You know many kids become the way they are because of their surrounding and how they get raised. I‘m not searching for a excuse for Paul, in fact I don’t give a single f about him, I didn’t knew him, but do you think he would be the same alcoholic a$$hole if he got raised in a different, loving family?
Thank goodness and thank you jury people for doing the right thing for Maggie an d Paul🙏❤️
Thank God!!!!!!!!!!
That was incredible. From the lavish, luxurious lifestyle of the rich to going to prison for the rest of your life. Eating slop. Instead of steak. From kissing his wife goodnight to kissing Leroy goodnight before lights out.
O HOW the MIGHTY has FALLEN!!!!👍👍👍👎👎👎
i heard they get tube steak.
And all the hogs can sleep better at night lol. No more pills either!

Leroy!🤣🤣
CBS News should do a better job of protecting the identities of the jury, as they are front and center as the defendant left the courtroom.
omg yes.....I was like "did they just show all of the jurors?".....geesh
Gotta love that Judge -- denies the motion for mistrial without hesitation. They better have AM on suicide watch bc I don't think he wants to serve even the minimum sentence for his crimes.
He already tried to suicide himself via an associate in an attempt to commit life insurance fraud.
With the sentence that can be handed down he automatically go on suicide watch
I was thinking the same. They better not let him take the easy way out!
Right I definitely think he's a suicide risk I hope they supervise him properly
Bet he thought he could beat the system like O. J
Let this be a lesson to all: Anger NEVER solves anything, but can DESTORY everything.
Was it anger or pride or a shear lack of accountability?
Yeah, I wouldn't really consider 'anger' a part of Alex's actions in any significant way..
@@shannonsutorius3944 all of what you just said
A life of entitlement...GUILTY! Finally accountable for doing wrong...👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Alex knew it was a guilty verdict
You are right. He wouldn’t have taken the stand had he thought otherwise.
Preponderance of evidence is not the proper burden of proof for criminal cases. It’s beyond a reasonable doubt
Hopefully you did not make your decision based on the preponderance of the evidence!
Did they really show the jury on the way out 😮
Damn show did! I seen them all too
RIGHT! First, they showed autopsy photos of Maggie on Tuesday by accident because Camera man did not turn camera away and then now they just showed the entire world the jury... smh
Not enough to really recognize anyone. They’ll all wind up talking to the media anyhow.
Youd be surprised how much free time some people have. No doubt at least one will be identified by somebody.
And hearing almost all of their voices so clearly
Eye for an eye is in order. Peace and resolution to the victims and loved ones.
I like it when alex shakes his head back and forth realizing he made no points testifying 😂 😂 😂 😂
Sit down 😮
What a classy, reasonable judge!!!
Big guy for sure.
renewed faith in the justice system- it actually works and it helps to have a solid and smart judge presiding.
Totally agree
What is done in the dark will eventually be brought to the light.
Now, Murdaugh has something to really cry about.
wonder what the four or five time killer reation was, buster
Did anyone notice that the courtroom camera panned across the entire jury as Alex was led from the room? I didn't think any jurors were to appear on camera during a trial, for fear of some sort of reprisals.
I saw that too and that is not good.
Why would they have anything to fear the guys in jail?
Thank you to the prosecutors, judge, jury and SLED for bringing justice for Maggie and Paul !!
Thank God justice finally!
Decades of injustice
Justice begins
I am shocked, but so happy! WOW! Great job jury!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Why would you be shocked?
@@justinedse3314 Because people are stupid and seem to think that the evidence, which so clearly points to Alex, is insufficient to prove guilt
I was happily shocked too, thought Alex was guilty but worried there’d be a hung jury, privilege and all that…
I just noticed they showed every juror as the camera followed Alex out of he room🤔
When will the courts stop treating the jurors as sheeplike adolescents who don't read or watch the news and are so easily influenced by outside opinions?
Since the Judge works for
me, John Q. Public, I would like to say a few words:
This case is a fine example of an outstanding Judge that maintains strict control of his courtroom by way of overwhelming fairness.
Like the best football games, you don’t even notice the referee’s presence.
Oh everyone noticed this judge. He’s brilliant. Would make a fantastic Supreme Court judge. 😊
The defense knew he was guilty
The Jury veredict was..VERY GUILTY 🎉🎉justice was done
YESSSSSSS! COMMON SENSE PREVAILS!!
It’s ashamed that he put his family through this. Buster looks broken. I can’t imagine. Alex is evil
Not too broken ; was shown at a Casino spending dads money a month after verdict.
This is probably the first time in his life he has been accountable for his actions and the good of boy club did not count.
I applaude and deeply bow to you @Judge Newton ! You are the ultimate example of a dignified judge !
They showed all the jurors as he walked out. Isnt that an issue?
That…was quick.
I thought it would take a few days.
Damn! Jury ate donuts and made a decision it seems.
Get me a.glaze lol
They literally show the jury’s faces as he is escorted away.
What about Emmett Till jury! Did they get it right!
I hope the civil lawsuits strip his family of their wealth also. Sorry Buster, but its time you earn a check the hard way like the rest of us...the Murdaugh's legacy must end!!

If he truly didn’t do it, his response to the verdict would’ve been totally different.
Nice jury shot at the end 😂
I believe the judge was not surprised.

Buster looks like what he feared might Be TRUE is confirmed today...... Sad that he is losing his dad but he also knows that it is just... his dad KILLED his MOM.... his mother.... who gave him life...... and his brother.
Earlier I asked myself I didn't know if Alex Murdaugh was arrogant or ignorant or both. And based on my observation of him during the trial and the sentencing I got the answer: and it was both.
What a great judge, too.
Good job jury !!!!
I am surprised the video showed the faces of the jury as Murdaugh was being led away.
Thank God justice for Maggie and Paul finally 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Poor Maggie n Paw 🐾 Paw 😮

there was not enough evidence so i am sure they are surprised. He tried to take the fall for buster again, as the younger dead son was made to before, and it didnt work. As it was not going to when paul was going to not go to prison for buster - ended up dead right when the court case was going for that and didnt look good, i bet buster is smirking - again

Wow, our legal system does still work sometimes. Amazing. Thank the Lord may Maggie and Paul rest in peace. May the families of all those affected by this horrible, horrible human being be in peace, and don’t worry their justice day will come as well.
Wait, did they just show the jury at the end of the video at the 13:20 second mark? I thought that was prohibited.
The jurors were shown -- in full view -- while the camera was following Murdaugh being escorted out of court after verdict. 13:16 Oooops! (Thanks for correction Diamond Doll!)
That was cool seeing the jurors. I thought they all sat in some sort of box. That looks really uncomfortable .

buster had pieces!??? omg, he is the one who drove the boat the witnesses said before changing their story - he killed the girl, who his brother was covering for underage, and was about to go to prison for - or tell! or the stephen smith gay 19 y o he killed as the whole town says. he killed the mom and brother and his dad covered for him once again..
Buster is involved in the Stephen Smith case. He may end up guilty for killing Stephen.
Alex didn’t even look at Buster who now has to live not only with the fact that his father is a killer but that he wasn’t in his thoughts as he was being led out. Then there’s the civil law suets, and the other deaths to be investigated.
Buster is just as guilty as his dad. Buster had a gay relationship with 17 year old Steven who was his tutor. Dad was not happy with the gay rumors, and Steven winds up dead on the side of the road. Case was never solved and that was how Buster and his dad ended this relationship.
@@adrianabenitez4776 alex murdaugh did not plan those killings, he lied about being at the kennel etc bc he is covering for psycho kid who did, buster. how many has he killed now ... town says he drove the boat from day one, as the witnesses did then changed it... paul court was about that now ..oops he came up dead instead of not taking the blame for him anylonger. the town says from day one that buster killed stephen smith july 8 2015 too... all people do is covedr for that psycho killer buster.
