1:58 don't know if everyone already knows but those blood bag things give actual blood bags if broken. Even with a stone axe. Doesn't seem to be 100% drop rate tho.

I've been working on tier 4 quests for hugh. The rewards are terribly underwhelming. Also, i buy the times charges to open the bigger crates. Saves time and they're cheap.
I've not been finding any for sale, but I have like 2 stacks of lockpicks now so I'll just coast with those lol.
Same here I did a t5 infestation and got offered iron t3 tools the quest rewards are horrific with the latest update
I'm glad your update went okay. When I updated to the new release all of my skills and level were reset. My loot was still there and all the things I looted stayed looted but I had to start over on leveling. It also killed me as soon as I logged in.
BTW, table saws will also give you forged steel. I know you don't see many of them, but it can help in a pinch.
Had the same thing, but fortunately I'm playing solo and just enabled creative mode to spawn in magazines and used console commands to level back up. I'll just keep a log of my stats and skill levels since they plan to keep doing this.
Bro you can't play A20 worlds in A21. Of course it's gonna break
did you upgrade from A20 to A21 or did you upgrade between A21 experimental levels?
@@_Ike Just to clarify, for me the update was an A21 -> A21 update and it broke all of my skills and levels. Not an A20-A21 update.

hey prebuilt. havent watched in a while but recently came back for alpha 21 and between your skill and humour you are definitely one of my favorite youtubers to just sit back, chill, and watch. the little bit where you placed all your chests and came back was hilarious, particularly doof and capitalism. much love from the states man
I had a minibike on day 6,mostly bc of the 9 magazines youd get from quest rewards had boosted my level to make them. I died and started over on a new game and I’m on day 12 now and still can’t make one lol lowering the amount of magazines you get hits different
I really appreciate the knowledge you have of the game, it's the little things u share that makes worth watching 40 min of gameplay (appart from u being very entertaining), me and my bf are on our first save and your videos are very very helpful, specially this series, keep up the work!!
This game is much, much harder than before, especially in terms of zombie spawns. It's felt unforgiving with the amount of radiated, mutated and special zombies that spawn. So many of them can spawn on top of you that it feels like I could be ganged up on at any given moment. Combined with all the critical injuries, it just takes so many resources to get through the game
I've been inspired to make my own content because of you and GNS but damn its a lot of work and I have nothing but respect for you guys. I haven't done it per say, but inspired nonetheless lol
That water purifier mod was best reward.
Dirty water only gives 10 water. Boiled gives 20. So not worth.
Also you take 5 damage when drinking murky water EVEN WITH the mod, which sucks :c
Boiling water is so easy that there's basically no reason not to always have a stack of clean water aside from the very early game when you don't have a cooking pot, realistically water purifier mod is a qol at best, definitely not something good
The real use of the water filter, is drinking directly from ponds with no risk of contracting dysentery. Lets you use all your water for crafting (glue), and spares you the need to carry water with you out in the field.

lol i been following along a bit an noticed you were way way more lucky with the magazines than ive been. kinda slowed me down quite a bit from your current progression, but i can see the reason for the change. thanks for the work
Iz, there are few things in the world I hate more than backseat gamers. I was wincing every time you stopped and explained your actions of why you were "cheesing" a POI or placing a hatch. Anyone who doesn't like that doesn't have to play that way. I just feel bad that you feel the need to have to explain your actions because you know people are gonna sound of in the comments. Well they can kiss the whitest part of my ass. Honestly you are one of the most skilled let's players for 7DTD. I personally play this game a lot more causally than you do, usually default settings. Even then, a lot of these tactics are necessary because TFP love setting up death traps with irradiated zombies. Doesn't matter the difficulty, you are not fighting 2-4 feral zombies with a T5 Stone Spear and a Pipe Machinegun in a small room. Its HATCH TIME BABY! Keep up the good work, I really enjoy watching you play and your playstyle.
Watch out. A21 just deleted all my books, perks and mag progress including my schematics. Had to go into CM and guess what I had. Kept all my loot though. Oh also put me back down to Tier 2 jobs from 4
i wouldn't call adding ladders to a POI "cheese". that's called "the game". That's the whole point of a voxel system.

Huh! I did NOT realize that the job tiers worked on a "point" system like that, and you could unlock Tier 5 jobs (ulp!!) by just doing more of lower tiers. Nice! LOL, in Alpha 20 I think Tier 3 and 4 were my favourites, depending how much "ZOMG I'm gonna die!!!" I wanted on a given day. Erm. Thank heavens I don't tend to play 'permadeath,' shall we say.
I've never thought to use a hatch to stop zombies at the door. I am usually gung ho and go in and get clobbered if I don't clobber 'em first.
And here I am, morning of day 7 with a pipe assualt rifle and a hunting rifle waiting for doom

Alpha 21 really changed up the poi method for me. Normally I just nerd pole to the roof of the poi then work my way down. It keeps you from being ambushed almost every time. Now they dont spawn zombies unless you hit certain triggers in the poi sometimes. I just did Butcher Pete's with a crossbow and stealthed all the way down with ease until that last room spawned all those ferals and one managed to hit me. Also, I think the main reason to do Butcher Pete's is for the rotten meat thats all throughout the POI.
You could build safety railings for zombies so they will not fall and start hitting blocks!
I had no idea trader quests worked on that kind of a point system
First infested I did had was at level 12, game stage maybe 18 or so? Had 3 rad zombies, 2 of the weird bloat zombies that explode into that massive rad storm thing. Every other zombie was feral it was waaaay overtuned. Also are you still doing the askprebuilt stuff now A21 is out?
Not currently but it's in my pocket as a content idea later down the road, too much to do right now though.
I dunno if it's a bug, but from version 317 Quest rewards seem to be locked to tier 2, with a slight chance to get something higher depending on the quest tier. I did four Tier 5/6 quests, and got offered one lvl6 chainsaw and the rest were dogwater. Getting offered 4 Vitamins and an ergonomic mod schematic for a tier 6 quest is just offensive.
just a heads up, once i did the update to b317, all my magazine, book, and skill points got wiped and had to restart my world (somewhat to be expected since it is experimental).
Sam happened to me, I restarted and one change I’ve noticed is that I haven’t been offered the box of crafting magazines, as a quest reward, since the update.
@@johnpatz8395 magazine packs were changed so they are no longer a guarantied reward choice and are now just another possibility in the reward loot table so you won't see them every time (i get offered them about 1 out of every 7-10 quests i complete since the update)

Hey could you maybe raise the "master" volume a bit? My phone has decent speakers but I often find the max volume not enough. If you can do that without completely nuking the sound quality that would be nice 😀
Is this before or after the latest patch nerfed some of the sources of magazines? What are your thoughts on them removing the crafting book bundle from always being in the rewards?
I switch to the new patch on the last 3rd of the vidoe. My thoughts are that it basically plays the same lmao. I haven't noticed a HUGE difference, I still find mailboxes with like 3 books.
So are the tier 3 ones now worth bashing into? You've been doing it in the recent series'
As far as I am concerned, I did multiple infestation quests, and they provide a nice challange, indeed it is harder now and more fun to do questing, but early on it isn't worth it at all, you get terrible loot, moreover you can even be level 1 if you want and you will still get a bunch of ferals, on level 30 (I was in the pine biome so no modifier) I had radiated zombies spawning in the byington residence, basically saying that even if it's a tier 2 or 3 infestation and you're low level, you will always get ferals no matter what level you are, absolutely not worth it early game since they will eat your ass like it's a chinese buffet, but the ammo crate is absolutely wonderful

So this new learn by looting mechanic… I’m not exactly sure how The Pimps have designed it to work, BUT, I have a game where I’ve done nothing but perk into Strength and Pummel Pete and I’m still not seeing any of the magazine associated with that. And as I level up the traders don’t seem to be scaling either.
I do like the difficulty the new system brings but is it just me or is it not what we were or should be expecting based on what they described pre Alpha release?
I’m not convinced it’s working properly yet.
can we do tier 2 quest from party members and skip tier 1 quest for bicycle reward?

Since you said tiering up is like a "points system" does that mean for example If I am just starting out Tier 3 (which means I need 3x7=21 points) I could technically do 11x Tier 2 quests (2 points each) and rank up to tier 4? Or do you need to do AT least your same tier to be able to get points? I generally only play the game during huge patches, and I was under the assumption that if you did quests under your tier, you cannot progress your tier. Do you know the answer?
Yeah you can do any tier you like it all counts as progress

Do heavy attacks with scrapping tools still provide maximum resources? It seemed like you were using light attacks for the firetruck
It does still give max resources, It's just stamina is a bit more mean now.
I did the T4 Jeffelon Zuckerwhatever estate. Holy shit, it wasn't hard due to zombies, but that place was a labyrinth. Took forever to clear and the rewards weren't worth.
When I updated, it dropped me to lvl 1 with no points. Guess you got lucky with that.
@10:48 I am pretty sure it searches from box 1 and then outwards, which is prolly why it took the T6 battery over the T4.

@29:30 - I've done this POI prior to the nerf, and from the look of it I'd say they have at most halved the number of book spawns with the update
I have to wonder: do you play with the standard 60 minutes a day or do you use longer days? i have 400 hours in the game but my first ingame week is not even close to your progression. i am barely out of the stone age and you are already at the end of the iron age!
I guess i could be further in , but i am a burned child from Alpha 15. when you had a couple of POI bases reset on you, building a 7 by 7 blocks shelter in the wilds near the trader from day one became from neccessaty to habit really quick. so i started A21 with a day one base.
Would love to see you do a day 1 base from scratch on your next playthrough just to compare a bit better.
It's 60 minute days. I have over 2 thousand hours and have made hundreds of videos on this game so you'd hope i'd be pretty good at playing it by now.

Did you know that you can get double the loot? Before hitting that yellow exclamation, loot the entire POI, then hit the icon. It will reset it.
I just did butcher petes poi and i had the room of ferals. They damn near killed me.

prebuilt wrenching 1 ambulance gets a tier 6 battery, me wrenching 30 vehicles...no battery, at least I got 10 engines...

i wondering is bow not include in perception tree. i like using bow and spear clear building but i drop 7dtd since a19. no one seem to use bow or crossbow.
Bow & crossbow are insanely good in A20, check out the video on this channel to see the comparison.
The lesson for today is get an auger before taking on Tier 3+ POI's.
How much more fun would it be if each quest used random spawns within the POI, randomly procedured zombie spawns, to keep it different each time, to me it would be fantastic, the unknown instead of having done the same thing so many times you just know exactly what’s about to happen and when, in which room and where. Replay appeal stays refreshing
Are you not getting hit as much by the zombie's reach because you're using the spear? I've noticed they can hit me from farther away than they used to, and from farther than I can hit them. With say a club of some kind
They increased the reach with spears so you can stay a little further back.
It seems I got better traders with only 1 point in daring adventurer. Weapons guy has lvl 5 AK before day 7 still at tier 1.
What a shock they nerf is to the books, i was less than thrilled with the books change, now i am just hacked off. The shear size of the dew collectors are a real take the piss comical sized moronic idea. Heres hoping overhaul mods arrive sooner rather than later. I stopped playing with the new update it took away all my craft skills, points everything but my inventory. No way I'm gonna start reading all the books and skills I lost. I'll just wait for the stable version. Yes I know I was warned but didn't think the reset would be this quick and butal.
The game updated yesterday and it erased my skill points and all my books I've read. Now I'm on day 13 with zero points or skills. I loaded in the game in my base and I was instant killed by a zombie even though I had a block and zombies shouldn't have been able to spawn.

T5 quests seem to be a waste right now, or you have to get stupid lucky. I'm on a server running with 5-6 friends and the quest rewards from T5 quests have been about the same as T2 quests...no joke. Only exception was a buddy getting a g5 junk drone; meanwhile my options included a g2 pistol (and the POI was the old apartment building...forget what they renamed it to). T4 quests seemed to have the best rewards overall.
Edit: Forgot to mention in my experience w/ solo play (which I've done far less of compared to multiplayer), T3s are my fav to solo. T4s are doable but like you said, lot of effort compared to T3s. I don't even bother with T5s when solo unless I'm running an agility build, but I don't tend to run that build while solo. That was in previous alphas, though...may be doable now w/ the crafting changes.
Too much XP for missions, I just to beat my friends without even goin to trader.
The cathedral is amazing for book hunting and takes no time to clear

Since the patch, I'm not geting skill book bundles as quest rewards.
They've made it so it's not guaranteed, but not completely gone. I am definitely in the patch in the late half of this video though, you can see when i open the bundles and only get 6 books instead of 9.
@@IzPrebuilt I think it might be due to that or perhaps it is percentage based on the type of quest. I have gotten bundles 100% when doing clear zombie quests or infestations while the fetch and buried I rarely get bundle offers.

did a t5 quest at the crack a book hq the other day, even when stealthing the entire floor would get aggroed on me all at once leading to encounters that where easily twice as hard as horde night. do not recommend

Versions of their worlds, TFP just updated 7D2D to Alpha B317, caution for those playing on Maps that were created on B313,
(I was caught in this mess also, since i had auto-update turned on DOH!)
Anywho, After updating to B317 my character that was at LVL 35 got reset with all associated skill points, i recommend turning on creative mode and get back the skill books/magazines that you had already collected, (this was a rare occasion for me, but i also lost my toolbelt items consisting of Tier 6 weapons and tools after updating the game)
Pretty annoying **Feature** as TFP likes to call it, give me back the time i invested into the game smh.
I take so long to advance my rank because I loot the whole place, then dismantle everything for resources, then activate the quest and do it again
well, you can easily cut your time in half by not double looting. that sounds like a whole lot of extra resources that arent needed

I can't remember what day it was but I went to the desert biome and mined oil shale for a while.
Turned it into gas at the chemistry station over the course of the playthrough, it took ages to process it all.
im rather using 3 time charger then waste time using stupid lockpick for chest 😂
And trader is becoming bullocks in this game - this should be a survival game not a go to trader do missions game. Instead trader could be traveling on a map guy or a caravan. And maybe you can pick up some stories on the way.
The nerf to traders was so needed makes the game progression slower and more fun toexplore plus you use dukes for stuff u would not normal buy

If, like me, you hate being given only a choice of far, far away quests you can reset the trader quests easily by doing the following :
Go into the console : Press F1
Enter Developer Mode : Type DM [return]
Interact with the trader, you will now see 'Admin Options', choose that and reset quests. Repeat until you are happy and then switch off Developer Mode by re-entering the console and typing DM again.

I'm fine with this situation? I make content (which i enjoy doing), my viewers get content (which they enjoy), I get ad ravenue (which i greatly enjoy) it's a win win. Would it be nice to play whatever games I want? sure but you have to work to get to that level of versatility. Can't expect to just play whatever until you're so big it doesn't even matter if a video gets 50% less views than usual.
