Somehow helps the understanding of the structure of this wonderful work of art. I love this pair and listen to their playing as I work. This is the real Russia to me. Not bully boys in Ukraine.

Just cannot find words to describe the talent and character I see in Liubov and Anastasia Gromoglasova. They are blessed, and we are therefore blessed to see them perform.

Listening once more to your performance, I surprised myself: at the end, facing my PC's screen, I spontaneously applauded! :-)
(How much work supposes such a perfect and natural synchronization; I'm deeply impressed.)

Sublime... Brave brave! Per dinamismo, carica, espressione interpretativa, il giusto fuoco e il giusto euforismo Brahmsiano.

It is a fantastic performance. The intermediate two-piano version of what eventually became Brahms' famous Op. 34 piano quintet, one of the greatest chamber works of the later Romantic period.

Aaron W I can understand your obsession. It's amazing music. For me, though, this performance is a bit too fast. At this tempo the big hammering sections sound frantic rather than ferocious. BTW, are you familiar with the (much better known) version for string quartet plus piano, the F Minor Quintet? I can't get it out of my head while listening to this two-piano version.

So far I like this version better than the string performances. I really like the Ebene Quartet usually for other pieces, but in their performance of this, the pianist is too loud and drowns them out.

Magnificently the Passion of Yohannes Brahms. As I listened my heart grew passionate to know the source of his passion, to find that Yohannes {John} was a deeply believing Christian whose home was filled with 'voluminous bibles'.
If you want to understand this passion, simply begin by reading John 1 verses 1-5.

Brahms first composed it as a string quintet, then turned it into this sonata for two pianos, then finally into the piano quintet :D
