How beautiful the sound / timbre these pianos! Clear sound, harmonious, cantabile and brilliant tone at the same time. Congratulations on the performance, too.

I didn't realise the Op 39, No. 15 had originally been written for four hands. This was beautiful to listen to. The others were as well, but the No. 15 is just sumptuous.

Very nice dueto! Perfect executions! However, I think the video description may be wrong. The fourth song they play is not the Waltz No. 11 but the No. 14 in A minor. The 11th Walz is in D minor and is a different song. :-)

Working on these with a close friend on separate pianos. Much prefer our own pianos , you have more space to fill in additional notes and chords if you need.

It is No.14, but it's in G# minor - at least the version I'm playing is.

What's with the sheet music? They are professional musicians -- surely they can memorize the pieces!

Piano duos almost NEVER perform from memory, as they need to be able to see both parts and how they fit together.

Unless it's solo music (or soloist in an ensemble such a concerto), no one out there (professional or not) memorizes chamber music scores.

The previous replies to your comments are on the mark regarding performance. Your shallow criticism serves to negatively and shallowly diminish the splendid work of the good ladies performers, rather than complimenting the good will they bring. Why not just enjoy Brahms for what the music conveys rather than inject your negativity???

Ok, here’s the deal....I’m a classically trained professional accompanist, and I also used to play these with my piano teacher many, many moons ago also. When you are playing with or accompanying another person you do need to see where they are at for a variety of reasons...first; nerves, if the other person for some reason gets lost, and it happens, even to the most professional of performers, we are all humans after all ( the second reason) ...you need to know exactly where you are and they are...sometimes you have to skip ahead bars or leave out entire sections, that is much easier to do when you have a visual reference. It’s for much the same reason that a conductor has the full score in front of him and orchestras players also use sheet music. Playing with others is a very different thing from being a solo performer.
