It's too late for this one but many people can't get the ration heaters to work because they don't understand what is happening. There are several sections on the heating element and each section will only work if it is soaked with water. When it is between two items the water can not get to it (or only the bottom section). No water on a section, no heat. If the water only gets on the bottom section that is the only one to heat up fully, the others will get warm (probably) because of the water vapor from the bottom element boiling the pool of water in the bottom, but they won't get properly soaked. The solution is to only put only one item IN the FRH then the heating element is against the bottom side of the bag when you rotate it flat and all of the element sections can be soaked with the water that collects on the bottom because of gravity. Once you have all sections soaked, you put the second item outside the FRH against the heating element and stick them both in the sleeve. The heating element will heat the outside pouch almost as well as the inside one just from conduction.
Thanks for that information. I laid the frh down flat and saturated it and all. It was a dud. But yesterday I had one work fantastically. I think they’re just hit and Miss. I could also call it users mistake as well. Thanks for commenting and watching. Appreciate the input.
You already know my feelings, on FRH'S, LOL. Meal looks awesome. I like the pizza rations, although many do not. The cobbler is good, but some are all crust, some are all fruit. Hard to get decent mix of both. Despite the FRH, looks like you had fun, and good food. Stay safe. Peace, John.
