- I went to St Johnstone 1-2 Celtic at McDiarmid Park in Perth, Scotland.
A huge thanks to SJFC for the invite and making me feel so welcome. Celtic went 1-0 up before St Johnstone pegged them back in injury time. Celtic went up the other end and Giorgos Giakoumakis scored ANOTHER in injury time!!! The craziest end to a game I've seen in ages!!!

One of the sad things about Scottish football is that when Rangers and Celtic are away at most clubs, they dominate the attendance.
Not Motherwell
Its true at 3 clubs in the top flight St Johnstone, Ross County and Livingston but definitely not at Heats, Hibs, Aberdeen and Dundee United and debatable at Motherwell, Killie and St Mirren.
It gets the home team much more revenue but if you believe in the crowd being the 12th man it can give somewhat an unfair advantage to the actual home team!
It's more the owners of the clubs wanting money than giving Celtic/Rangers only 500/1000 seats and having 6k empty. Problem is there 7k St Johnstone fans ? Yes the Europa qualifier showed that. Every club could fill there stadiums but most don't want to spend 300/500 a year knowing what will happen. Never mind the fans who were local team supporters growing until they makes pals and rather travel 100+ miles to watch celtic and rangers lift trophies and in Europe with good atmosphere with the stadium majority full than sitting in a stand with the next supporter 3 rows up and 15 seats across be a bit deflating
It's because in every town and nearly every city in Scotland most people support Celtic or rangers and that is the sad thing

Great video Sam. Thought celtic made hard work of it but did well to get the 3 points was in Glasgow twice for a Celtic game in Parkhead this year in 2022
This is the problem with Scottish football. When you’ve got more away fans than home fans then there’s a serious problem and the game will never progress within the country. People are either Celtic or Rangers, no one seems to support their local team or the underdog team
Sad truth right there, then some of them are naive enough to say that other clubs get terrible crowds. Them 2 clubs and the amount of people who follow them singlehandedly ruin the game here

Absolutely brilliant mate.👏👏 First time of watching. Am a Perth bhoy originally but live in Kelty now. Was at the Scottish cup tie between the maroon machine and Perth saints last season as a neutral as am a massive Celtic supporter. Thought it was shocking that the st Johnstone player's had to walk through their own fans to the changing rooms at the community centre after the extra time defeat to Kelty.😂 Keep thinking of doing a sport's and journalism course but now that am coming up for 40 think am past it. Keep up the good work mate.✌️

St Johnstone actually have a decent stadium. If only they could fill at least 2 stands as it's embarrassing how the glory hunters outnumber the home crowd.

I have to say McDiarmid park still looks the business after 33 years, seats even still have a colour about them. To keep it short the one thing overall I can comment about the match, there is no better football fan buzz when your team scores a winner with seconds to go.
