  • Unearthed between 1947 and 1956 in eleven caves in and around the Wadi Qumran. The texts are of great religious and historical significance, as they are practically the only known surviving Biblical documents written before AD 100. The Dead Sea scrolls comprise roughly 825-872 documents, including texts from the Hebrew Bible. We'll explore the Qumran area where the scrolls were discovered. We'll be joined by Dead Sea Scroll editors, archaeologists and historians. The Scrolls will come to life as we ask some tough questions. Was John the Baptist an Essene as some claim? Did he belong to this secret closed sect of Judaism? Recent excavations shed new light on this controversial topic.

    Luke is problematic as it is the last of the three synoptic gospels. Analysis of the writing by style, vocabulary and knowledge seems to point it to be written by the same author as the Acts of the Apostles and the the 3 Pastoral Epistles. There is definite disagreements between the 7 Epistles that are considered written by Paul and Acts.

    All the pitchers of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ are from the Catholics which don't at all follow the ways of Jesus. It is plain Jesus wasn't a Nasserite but they paint him with long hair. They prey to idols and profess Trinity. Trinity denies the first of the ten commandments Hear o Israel the Lord out God is one, Not three. Jesus was the Christ in flesh but his spirit was the lord of creation. Just as the Spirit dwelt between the two cherubim's on the mercy seat, in the days of our Messiah the spirit dwelt in the fleshly body of Jesus. As the Apostle said he is the image of the invisible God. Also Isaiah 9:3 and ITim. 3:16 pronounce him to be both God and the everlasting Father.

    • @99gagaman
      @99gagaman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can agree to some degree with you, but, I don't about the trinity. Now, to be frank, I'm not catholic, I'm Messianic Jew, and the trinity doesn't imply there is more than one god. It actually implies that Jesus (the Son) is God, as well as the Holy Spirit is God, but they aren't each other, but different aspects of God, the Father. Here is some context for you since you're using the Shema as evidence for the trinity being false. In Genesis, as God is creating the universe and all things in it, the conjugation of the word God (El) that they used is Elohim, El is God, singular, Elohim is plural, and this is in the original Hebrew. God was speaking to Himself as He was creating the universe and the Earth and all the living creatures. Also, if you believe in Jesus, which, I am assuming you do? You would know Jesus says the only way to the Father is through Him, the Son. He makes the distinction, and, He also makes the distinction about the Holy Spirit, saying blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable, He doesn't say blasphemy against Jesus (Himself, the Son) or the Father is unforgivable because Jesus is forgiveness.

    • @slipshankd1307
      @slipshankd1307 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trinity doctrine says there three separate and distinct spirits all co equal and eternal. God the father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit.
      The Bible says:
      In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God.
      The word was made flesh and dwelt among us.
      We knew him as of the only Begotten one.
      Jesus said I and my Father are one.
      When you see me you see the Father
      He is the image of the Father. these are all found in the New Testament.

    John the Baptist had nothing to do with the Essenes. And it's extremely doubtful that the Essenes had anything to do with the Dead Sea Scrolls. I recommend the book Who Wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls by Norman Golb.

      I respectfully disagree with you. Jesus and His cousin, John the Baptist were Essenes and were schooled at Qumran. John the Baptist's mother was an Essene, as was Mother Mary. I urge you to do research to see the truth.

    They didn't believe in the priesthood and many other old Jewish laws.
    A lot of things they are talking about are partly true. Baptism is not only for the Remission of sin, it is required for entry into God's kingdom after death.
