    Speederbikes against jedi are so overpowered.
    I loved the scene in Episode VI where two guys on speeders ran circles around luke, repeatedly shooting him in the face and occasionally dropping bombs at his feet until he died.

    Bimmel is one of the hardest maps to take and the easiest to hold. Espescially if you shell out for the base shield and guns, let alone a theater shield for anti-bombardmant. Plus some "At-At tier" factories.

      Still the easiest to defend is that custom eriadu one from fotr, every shield and turbolasers in 1 place, combined with factories and garrnison, oh the amount of droids i killed there.

    The Ise was a historical ship, which served in the Imperial Japanese Navy during WWII and was also a bit of an oddity. It was a battleship that was refitted to remove its rear turrets in favor of a hangar and multiple catapults for launching floatplanes.
    For what it's worth, the phonetic pronunciation of the name would be something like Ee-say
    (Not the person who named the ship that btw. Just thought I would share)

    another excellent video! one quick question... is it possible to improve the ground battle ai on when they retreat? quite often they will retreat with no chance to move units to the landing zones... had the NR loose multiple ground heroes when they retreated!

    Excited for the update but nervous to rework my galactic conquest strategies. Sorry to use the comments as a question platform but I have a question about defensive fleet posture. I find the benefits of being able to place my ships while on the offensive more valuable than having a defensive fleet defending a planet on my front lines. I tend to leave a small ship in orbit of my boarder planet with no structures in orbit; this way I get a notification when an enemy fleet is inbound without having to invest in ODP's. Is there a way/are there any plans to allow a human player to choose either the spawn position or spawn composition of a fleet defending and orbiting a friendly planet? While the game does a good job of balancing the fleet it deploys if you have more than 300 units, most times I prefer to deploy ships I dont mind losing first instead of initially deploying a balanced fleet

      Your strategy is probably the best one for guarding low priority worlds. If you want to have a large fleet I would only do it on a planet that has a decent shipyard and the ability to produce a validusia/ empress/ otto class space station. Obviously don't skip out on the HV/ ion cannon. Pull all of your ships behind the space stations and have the stations tank all the shots. If you hold right click while selecting ships you can force them to either reorient their current position or move to a location and then reorient themselves. In fact it's more useful to do this rather than using the stop command since ships may still move forward or turn uncontrollably due to pathing.
      Make use of the Z axis when stacking your fleet. No more than 300 population should be necessary, so throw in some capital ships, heavy frigates, carriers, and maybe a couple of extra point defense ships. If you plan on using more than 300, reduce the number of point defense ships since those tend to get deployed first.
      I managed to clear a doomstack of 750+ pop worth of imperial ships as Zsinj before the 3.0 release with only the pop cap allowed at the time. No losses, although under the new incoming fighter rework there may have been losses (I used a combination of Lucrehulks, Allegiance Battle Cruisers, Quasars, and victories). More recently I was able to defend a planet against 450+ pop worth of CIS ships using the same strategy, with 2 victories and a golan as casualties. You'll definitely get some epic battles and even if it does fail you can always call in a second fleet to pick up where your defense fell.

      Unfortunately implementing pathfinders on the defensive like that isn't directly possible. We have some ideas, but nothing simple or guaranteed to work.

      @@cimcity1863 That is an impressive victory, especially with no losses. I have over 600 hours in this mod so while I appreciate the tips on fleet composition I am well aware of how to build balanced fleets as well as more specialized fleets. I also understand how to use ODP's and ground based space defences, but if I understand your tip about ship commands that would be helpful so thank you

    Just started a new playthrough as the New Republic, and boy is that one difficult at the start! The other factions have way more dakka than you, so you gotta do hit'n'runs. Did just manage to take out one of the Praetor 2s from the Eriadu Authority! So that's progress!

      Everytime i play as the NR, i always make the most out of my 3 Home One’s and lighting strike through every EA planet i can so i don’t have to worry about them being a pain in my ass later, it works alot. And once you’re finished, make as many ground units you can and take the planets.

    I think these kinds of games could do with more requiting locals, maybe just ones and twos as scouts or wtvr, if they survive they can become proper recruits.... and if the game has upgrade-able units or like unit xp, then they can become regular troops infantry, mg teams morta crews or wtvr is needed.

    I'm glad the alignment has more than just the tie targeter and bomber as anti-capital. the targeter is hot garbage if i have to rely on it alone.

    I started playing this mod recently and one thing I didn't really understand is how it decides which faction you play as. I know I selected Empire so I assume that it just randomly decides which Remnant faction you are? I am Greater Maldrood right now, which is fine but I do like some of the units I see in my opponents. I still can't figure out why I can't build anymore super dreadnoughts. I have two then I haven't had the option to build more.

      You play as whichever faction you selected. It doesn't randomly assign you an Imperial faction, they're all selected from the list when you start the game, same as any other faction. There is a limit on how many SSDs you can build- it's shown in the description of the unit.

      @@CoreyLoses ok so I see the limit it says Build limit: 2/4. So I would guss I could still build 2 but none of my planets with dreadnought shipyards have it as an option to build. I'm in Era 7 on this play.

      2/4 means there's a limit of 2 at a time and a lifetime build limit of four. So to build more, you'd need to lose one of the ones you have.

    I'm not sure if you are aware but the spinning circle that appears when calling in a bombing run actually determines the direction of the bombing run

      That's not the case, the spinning green part on the reticle is just an texture animation, it has no bearing on anything. If you target a given place on the map, it'll always come from the same direction no matter what frame of the animation it's from- bombing runs always come from essentially the longest path over the map.

    Hey Corey would it be possible for the PA to get the lucrahulk as their battleship carrier since their more fighter and bomber focused than other factions.

      We have no plan to give the PA the Lucrehulk as part of their roster. They already have large carrier that fills the same role and that is Imperial in origin as opposed to CIS surplus.
