    it would only shut down if the battery came within range of someone running the Ridge Battery App(with their bluetooth turned and internet connection running). At which point it would also show up on the tracking location. Same as any of the tracking tags you can buy.

    I haven't figured out how to make the notifications go to my phone but you can set the battery to chirp for certain situations. I don't really actively use the app but I set my batteries to beep when they get down to 10% and when they're dead, as well as when they're done charging. Pretty handy. Also when it hits 10% it doesn't beep until the tool stops, which is really smart because if it went off during a cut or hole you wouldn't hear it. Very smart on Ridgid's part.

      Yea its definitely a cool feature to have on these batteries...

    Hey you can only locate and lock/unlock if battery is within phones Bluetooth range. Its not wifi. So if someone takes and is far away your lost unless you drive all around until it connects then you can locate and turn off battery. Gimmick? not so as on a work site if someone takes you can find but also you can have batterys lock whenever out of your bluetooths range. I do like the app as it tells history and info of each battery.
    keep up the good work. I have learned much from you and hope to keep on doing so, unlike others that is putting on a show instead of testing or telling it like it is and Ridgid he hates and always badmouths.

      Well remember Nelson these tools really aren't meant for Jobsites ...now they may be changing that a bit with octane line ..but for diy and residential work has some useful features

    I just picked up the 3.0 octane 2 pack I love it, can't wait to get the 6.0 2 pack next. Love how it shows the stats in the app, I'm at 2.5 hrs and 2 cycles now only the first day too. 😎

    I find that you have to get to around 50% charge before it estimates remaining charge time. I have both 3Ah & 6Ah Octane batteries

    The 3.0 2 pack is $10 off right now online, not sure about in store. Pretty good deal at $129

    Is the cells the same in the BOSCH core battery as the Ridgid octane 3.0 I'm just curious here if so that explains why the idh182 is more powerful with that 6.3 then the older batteries from the videos I've seen from you and everyone else I'm sure you have it on that 4.0 core you.just got

    So today, and I know this video is a year old. Anyway, I'm in Home Depot and I see they have a two pack of the octane batteries on sale a 3 amp in a 6 amp hour octane for 129, I walk around the store and in the clearance section they have in the box which I also saw in the spring at 3 amp hour battery a 6 amp hour battery the top-of-the-line charger in a real nice carry bag on clearance at $89 you can bet I grab that and bought it without even blinking, what an incredible deal no I really don't understand how Home Depot does that and I'm wondering if maybe you could explain that to me how they can have two batteries for 129 and then the same exact batteries with the top-of-the-line charger in a real nice carry bag in the clearance section at $89 at any rate it was one hell of a score at least I think it was so I had to buy it love you videos keep up the good work. Oh and by the way my app will not find those two batteries no matter how hard I try the first do I purchase the year-ago there in the app they were located, but I've been trying for a couple hours now with these two brand new ones and they just can't be located no big deal I can live without them in the app anyway have a great holiday season and thanks really would like your thoughts on that clearance deal though

    Hi Boss. I'm looking to get the octane planer (vs the DeWalt). Is there anything MAJORly different from a regular ridgid pack, other than the bluetooth and cell size? Power output?

    • @toolboss8410
      @toolboss8410  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ridgid only has 1 21700 cell Battery pack ...the 3Ah ...the 6ah and 9@h Battery are 18650 cells
