Thank you. It was along process from getting my documents ready to finding a family to match with and getting a visa date
Realistically, give yourself 6-12 months unless if you already have the documents and just need to apply

Where did you do your drives license and learners test for that much? I get quotations for 6000 and up😭😭
The costs I mentioned are for booking at the traffic department or whatever it’s called but even at a driving school it’s definitely not that much. Also I’m from Klerksdorp and I think doing your learners test classes were like R150-200 if I’m not mistaken

1. The agency I'm with mentioned something about luggage tax when you either land in New York OR you arrive at the hotel for orientation. I actually wasn't aware of this until just a few days ago. Do you know what they might be referring to and how much it costs, roughly?
2. Sending money home. Is this possible? Would I need to open a new (U.S) bank account once I arrive or is it possible to get paid in my South African account, can SA Standard bank cards be used over there? One of the main things for me is to be able to send money home, and I'm just wondering if it's possible, and if bank fees is going to be a massive obstacle.

But you have to open a new account when you get here and you can send money back home through apps that are connected to your bank here and to various people in SA
