This happened to me when it came to my sister's former cat Sushi. She loved my brother in law. HATED my sister when she is strict. Loved me because I knew her boundaries and she slept on me twice. She even laid on my feet when I was passing out candies to the trick or treaters. She passed away one year ago and I really loved that cat.
I never was allowed to have dogs or cats growing up. I did have fish and I did get a a parakeet that was well trained and affectionate. I got to experience dogs and cats during sleepovers. I always ended up all the family pets in between my legs, on my neck etc. it’s like they were trying to claim me.
Years ago I visited some friends out of state. As I started to unpack, their giant orange tabby cat jumped in the car and began to inspect our luggage. Such a warm welcome!

I went to a friend's home and she fell asleep. Her cat jumped up on my lap out of no where. She told me her cat sometimes attacks. I was so scared Lol. They can tell good people I think. He is part of the pack now. He is sleeping over. New family member accepted.
