Super ruined Trunks he was a future warrior who was terrified of events yet to come since he witnessed everyone he loved die and tries his best to stop it in our timeline only to realise he had become brave and strong enough to defeat the androids which he does with ease his journey is one of self-discovery and realising who his father was, Super brought new issues into his story, changed his hair colour, took away his muscles, made him eat dog food, gave him a love interest who is 60 years older than him, killed his mother, the disrespect and damage to Trunks is unfixable the fact he also knew solar flare in the manga which I call bs and has his ass ssj rage which is the epitome of asspull just because he's angry enough he can defeat Black and Zamasu even though their power levels are that of blue which took Goku and Vegeta training under Whis and Beerus to attain it it's garbage and I wish he was never brought back because it was insulting

Not to mention that half the things you listed aren’t even negative. Eating cat food is a realistic sign of how dire the situation’s gotten. You can discard half your reply away, because the real reason you’re disappointed is because you wanted a cardboard personality character that just looked cool and instead you got the same character as in Z except, naturally, more traumatized and without your nostalgia glasses with a slightly worse design. And where tf did his muscles go? he went from boulder to stick no excuse because black didn't terrorise him as long, why did he fall in love with an old woman? It's weird and creepy and Trunks was never like that, why is he looking up to adult Gohan for help? Even though it was Krillin, Bulma and Vegeta who were by his side throughout dbz these are valid and one does not equate another it's in fact you who's blind who will accept trash and can't see quality and effort compared to rubbish I feel bad for you
If Trunks ever comes back, he should return to help, not to need help!
