There are lots of deadly gases that can kill with a single inhale. In Yanagi's attack, it's not even the oxygen doing the damage, but the lack thereof. Oxygen deprivation can cause immediate unconsciousness, but you can also recover as Baki did as long as you return to an oxygenated atmosphere before your brain starves.
Remember when Kureha told Togukawa that Yujiro sees everyone except his own family members and good enemies as women? Yujiro also told that whip strike is for women who can't protect themselves properly *Now that explains a lot.*

We turned our hips into it, used the other arm for swinging momentum, & followed through really well. It definitely took some trial and error though.
Yanagi is one of the coolest characters, because he posses really cool tricks. What a shame he lost so fast. At the beginning he was the one of the scariest characters...now he is laughable and lost his selfconfident in his fights.

Kaku Kaioh. No contest. Yanagi's poison originated in China, so Kaku Kaioh would probably know it when he saw it on account of his standing in the Chinese martial arts world. Maybe, *MAYBE* Yanagi's vacuum palm would work, but most likely Kaku is too experienced to allow Yanagi's palm to completely cover his mouth.
