- Rick Sanchez is the smartest man in the universe. But would that be true across the multiverse of Dragon Ball? Would his intelligence be able to take him through the same trials as Goku and his friends, and more importantly - can he beat Goku tho?

There's one thing you forgot. A very important part of the ToP is what Zeno was gonna do if he made the wrong wish, or god forbid if Rick pisses off Zeno. If Rick manages to piss of Zeno then that's an instant loss. Rick might trust Beerus' fear at the U6 tournament but if the wish at the end of the ToP isn't bringing back the other universes, then that's another instant loss.
Yeah, he probably wouldn't care enough to wish them back. But if Zeno is pissed, Rick could easily bring them back with technology, no problem.

There's something you need to keep in mind-the "Infinite Finite Curve" that the Ricks constructed mean that they collected every universe where Rick Sanchez was the most important, dominant, intelligent being into one corner of the multiverse for them to use as their sandbox. This means that outside of Rick's own multiverse, he's much more likely to lose or fail to achieve his goals-as other beings and concepts are allowed to be more dominant.
This entire argument doesn’t make any sense. Much lesser Ricks were dominating whatever universe they were in, much less C-137. And for most of this time, the Curve was not a thing.
Rick made the Curve when he was already an old man, and when the Citadel was during development, meaning it’s probably more of a recent thing. So all Ricks have been traversing the multiverse without being in the Curve longer than they’ve been in the Curve.
Rick’s gonna get himself drunk and accidentally teleport himself onto Frieza’s ship, Frieza will then poke him and Rick will be atomised.
Probably not the best idea on Frieza's part considering the fact that one guy literally just touched Rick and died... 💀

If it's the ones that focus primarily on either story or comedy then I agree, they'd have him get his shit pushed in after he talks himself up either for laughs or as a lesson about hubris. If it's the ones that glaze Rick (i.e. primarily the season 3 writers) then they'd probably go "WELL ACTUALLY RICK HAS INFINITY DIMENSION TECH AND HE KILLS GOKU IN TWO SECONDS"

Bulmas just to lazy to do it, if she wanted to she could invest her time and could have created andriods to absolute ruin any stakes of the show but she doesnt do that because she has no desire to.

10:00 saiyans have a HUGE weakness to poison. going super saiyan makes everything in their body act faster, including poisons and diseases. Gohan actually had to go out of super saiyan in the fight you showed there because the poison would overwhelm him otherwise.
Daima ep1 retroactively makes this even easier for Rick. We now know there is a mechanism which can auto-gather the dragon balls, as well as one which can reset the cooldown on them. Why have one wish when you can instead be fed a constant stream of wishes?

Ironically, in this what-if, I think the first encounter with Yamcha is one of the hardest fights in the entire run, because of how unprepared for that type of fight Rick would be freshly dropped into this verse and not yet started on the snowballing he does by the end.
Tbh pretty obvious he could,guys like Gero and Gedo were able to do super strong things so he would probably figure out how Ki works,God Ki and more and engineer something or make himself strong enough with enhancements

Great video, at first i thought there was no way he could c9mpete i this universe, but you made great points and i agree with pretty much everything.
The only contentious part is him being trapped there because his series has shown enough to show that thisnwould bever happen.
A better explanation would be Morty bringing dragon ball and Rick to prove him wrong sends himself to that univers while simultaneously wiping any knowledge of it from himself just to show off.

Very good video! A thing i wanna bring here is that, even if he somehow couldn't learn and weaponize ki, he can weaponize magical objects including the dragon balls.
Lets remember that Rick easily build an armour for Jerry that, when powered up by an orb of raw power, was able to blow up planets, and while thats a very small feat in DB by now, it means that he could go so so far if he gets his hands on much powerful items like the dragon balls. Imagine him building an armour wirh all the dragon balls incorporated onto him!
So yeah, if he sets his mind into becominc the greatest warrior in DB, i bet he could. Lets just hope he doesnt anger the wrong person like Zeno Sama or get drunk/act too confident on the wrong moment

there's an animation out there that explores a rick v goku and rick basically yoinks saiyan dna, implants it into his own, then slowly brute forces the new transformations like ssj1, 2, 3, god, and god blue, as they're revealed to him, going back to his universe to work on the experiments. though, if he couldn't leave the dbz dimension, then goku could just instant transmission to wherever he tp'd to and continue the fight. regardless though, him yoinking saiyan or frieza dna to get super forms is well within his capability

This issue with Rick fighting anyone in DB (if he doesn’t have prep time) he gets absolutely floored.
He’s super reliant on his tech and without his tech most of his fights are extremely close and usually with random people who are by no means average fighters. If Rick were to fight Goku without prep time he’s got no way of countering the Ultra Instinct technique by itself and with little in terms of actual Combat skill I give him a few seconds before he’s taken out.
I see ricks main problem not to be strength hes shown adaptability to everything, but him trying to avoid the detection of the gods and zeno and eventually mind controlling zeno.
We all know Rick would wish to be a Saiyan as soon as he can so he can go super saiyan and quote be cool unquote.

i think the most interesting matchup against rick is currupted fused zamasu in the anime/manga either one you prefer. Considering fused zamasu is immortal and the only one that was capable of stopping him was zeno's erasure of the future.
How about adapting Jojo characters in MHA?
I don't think he'd make it past Buu arc, even if he got everything he wanted up to that point. Buu has unpredictable magic/physics that Rick wouldn't have any prior knowledge of, so no cheap exploitable weakness. And I don't think he'd have enough power gathered to suddenly be stronger than ssj3 at this point. The only way he would've survived Buu arc is if he prevented Buu's revival.
Assuming he prevented Buu's revival. That skips the arc entirely and the vast power difference from DBS would be that something is inevitably gonna kill Rick. Be it God of Destruction or Frieza with training, both are too fast/strong for the sudden dramatic shift from ssj2-ish power to God ki.
Makes you wonder why Dragon Ball's armies/law enforcement are so useless when there have been multiple scientists that all by themselves were able to create androids in the level of 17 and 18 or higher (ignoring Cell because first you need to gather extraterrestrial DNA to make him).
Cause they are humans turned androids. So they already were born with top potential and gero kidnapped them for that reason but he made 16 a full robot so he can make a army of 16.

I was just waiting for the part where he says Rick one shots I mean goku is strong but with prep time goku gets stomped unless you actually use higher dimensional scaling with goku which is pretty consistent to get him to 6-7D but it’s pretty clear this battle is under many hypotheticals I believe goku would one shot on a random encounter.

At the end of the Tournament of Power, doesn't Zeno say he would have destroyed all universes if the winners didn't vote for the other universes to be restored? I don't see Rick making the right wish unless he knows that's what Zeno wants, and if he doesn't, I think that's as far as he would go since then he'd be deleted by Zeno
