    Here's my tip: Go around the very edge of the perspex with a black permanent marker. This will stop the edge of the deflector lighting up and creating a visual distraction.

    thanks for your video - I 100% support your conclusion - screen works super well. Only drawback I find is that I find I am riding faster because it is so much fun. Buy the screen in bits for £12 there are videos on YT on how to put it together. Quality is really high for the price.

    Ordered 1 of these for my triumph tiger based on your great review. Hoping it helps get rid of the awful wind buffeting issue. Thanks

    Thanks for this recommendation. I finally got around to ordering one. It arrived recently and works really well.
    At £15.59 it's an absolute bargain!

    I had one of thise on my 04 vstrom and it made it, for me, as quiet as a goldwing behind the screen. Easy fix for about 20£.

    Tried a cheaper Chinese version of this on my bike. With regard to the added wind protection I did get similar results to you, but I also experienced a couple of negatives. Firstly, I found that the extra weight of the deflector caused the windscreen to flex and shake excessively. This may have been down to the shape of my screen, which is effectively a flat piece of plastic. A more shaped screen may offer more rigidity and so may not be a problem. Longer term, I was concerned that all the flexing could lead to screen damage and possible failure at the screen mounting points. Secondly, even with all of the rubber mounts, it still left permanent marks on the windscreen. So overall, a good product if your existing windscreen is sufficiently rigid enough to support the extra weight and you don't mind that it will leave small marks where it attaches. For me unfortunately, it has been removed and is now gathering dust in the garage.

      What’s your point?
      Buy a quality product or these don’t work unless the original windscreen is of good quality and shaped ?
      Did it offer any resistance with helmet buffeting?
      Cars to clarify?

    • @philiprobinson2011

      Certainly, I currently have an MRA screen which has a pre fitted wind deflector and it is excellent. It is easily adjustable and stable at all speeds and more importantly it eliminates wind buffeting completely. Previously I had tried a cheap Chinese after market deflector fitted to the stock screen on my Honda NC750. Possibly because the stock screen was not very rigid the deflector caused the screen to shake around a lot. Secondly, when I removed the deflector it had marked the stock screen where it was attached. So in conclusion, deflectors are excellent if the screen you are attaching it to is strong enough and you don't mind a couple of little marks where you attach it. Secondly if you can get a screen, like the MRA ones with the deflector pre fitted, I am sure it will be perfect in reducing buffeting. @@ginoasci2876

      @@philiprobinson2011it sounds like you have far too limited data to make any comments about screen and extensions in general. But it's nice to know your experience with the cheap aftermarket anyway. Maybe the conclusion should be directed solely towards the cheap aftermarket extension?

    • @philiprobinson2011
      @philiprobinson2011 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I really don’t see how I could have too limited data to make any comments. Surely my experience is a relevant as anyone else’s and whilst limited it might be of use to someone out there. My comment was about my experience fitting a cheap aftermarket deflector to a stock screen and part of the problem was that the stock screen was not rigid enough to tolerate the additional forces being generated by the deflector and not specifically about the deflector itself, which actually worked very well and was only let down in that the clamping screws used to attach it which left marks on the stock screen. @@jackle842000

  • @TEDtheKEY
    @TEDtheKEY ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent! I'll be looking at getting one for motorway driving. Did the one you bought leave maths on your existing screen. I've seen them on ebay for a little as £14. Would you get a smoked one? That would go with my existing one, which was after market for my Suzuki V Strom 650 which doesn't eliminate all the buffeting.

  • @FrankBlackcrow
    @FrankBlackcrow 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The cheapest one for my bike is from Italy, it would cost me.. AU $180.91.. +AU $12.49 postage.. I just bought a whole new wind screen that cost AU $160.. a bit shorter than the older one with the 2 holes in the lower part, the new one isn't like that.
    For a Honda 650 Deauville.. trying to see if the Chinese make one.. or the Japanese, if the original bike maker has one, is like hens teeth.

    • @HelmetHead
      @HelmetHead  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vbence12 This one is a lot lighter, has 2 points off mounting, little bit bigger so more wind protection. I found it personally better then the other. But if you only have a small screen the other might suit your bike more.

    I don't like these. Tried it. I don't like having those bulky fasteners taking up precious real estate in my forward vision; it's a chronic subtraction from my overall safety, if you ask me. If they could make this with fasteners that clip the vertical sides of the windscreen, I might reconsider this item.
