    Hello guys, This is a video that I made from old clips put together. I wanted to show you guys how I hatched my first batch of angelfish eggs on my own. It was very easy. All you need to do, is set up a 10 gallon or 20 gallon tank with some sponge filters and a heater. Once your angelfish pair have laid their eggs on a slate, take the slate then put it into the 10 gal or 20 gal tank. Get a air pump, with some airline tubing and attach a air stone to the airline tubing and place that underneath the slate with the eggs. Turn on your pump, and put it on a low setting if possible. Let the bubbles blow slightly against the eggs. This will keep the eggs clean for the most part. If possible try to do few small water changes in the processes of hatching the eggs. It will take about a day or 2 for them to hatch, then 5 to 6 days after for the fry to start free swimming. Methylene blue and Hydrogen peroxide is not needed but can give a better hatch rate if used correctly. Keep in mind, Methylene blue will stain your tank if used incorrectly. If you have any questions please leave a comment. Thank you guys for viewing my video.

      Hi, I didn't understand what you said/did with your air stone. I have my air stone inside the sponge filter attached to the clear hose which is attached to the pump. My bubbles are not as nice and fine as yours, what can I do different?? And is that all I need to ensure that my sponge filter is connected properly.

    My golden angels are spawning for the first time (my first time, too!). You videos are terrific. You are inspiring me to get a fry tank, and have a thriving community like you showed. Thanks again.

    When doing water changes with wigglers and small fry, place a small knee high or footie panty hose over the intake part of the syphon hose and secure with a rubber band or zip tie, to prevent sucking up the fry. I used to do this with my guppy fry and it really saved accidental losses. you don't get much detritus but you do remove the bad water effectively. you can use a turkey paster to remove large pieces of detritus by hand if needed.

    Great helpful video Master Aquatics, thanks! I've just put a load of eggs into a "nursery tank" and am hoping to get a reasonable hatch. The pair that laid these eggs today have laid 4 lots of eggs already but always eat them all the same night as they lay them so hopefully I will be at last able to raise a brood from this pair.

    Congratulations! Mine layed eggs and she was keeping them in the mouth. I’m new too this so I let them in the mothers mouth. I didn’t know what to do. So I guess she ate them…😢😢😢 I was so excited, until I read your video. I’m so sad. But thanks for all the informations said. Helping to do it the right the next time. I’m so excited now that I hear your video. Blessings too you and yours!

    Hi master aquatics, it's john b from manchester england, again. I've watched all your video's now and am up to date. I'm enjoying watching your progress. I will be following you from now on. Love angelfish. Used to have some when i was younger. Love the shape of them and the way they move. They can be a bit aggressive though. I bought a couple of larger one's and the female ate all my new small neon tertras the little bugger ! And then proceeded to lay eggs. Got rid of it eventually but haven't given up on the idea of trying again now that I am older and wiser. Good luck with your fish. Looking forward to watching your fry and your channel grow. Maybe you could consider puting a black card background onto the outside back of your tanks to make it easier for people to be able to see your fish better ! ? Enjoy your day. ☺ 🐠.

    Great video. I have raised angels using an AquaClear power filter instead of the sponge filter. It works very well as long as you use a sponge filter over the intake tube. The sponges are available at pet stores like Petsmart etc.

  • @milliejohnson8932
    @milliejohnson8932 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had to separate my wigglers and they were attached to a big house in my aquarium. So I just put the house in the breeder tank and let them hatch from there. I have about 15 or 16 babies . I’m afraid to take the house out now and put it back in its original aquarium. You said you get anxious wow do I! Does it hurt to have something in the tank while they grow ?

    Question: My brother & I are new to this. Our angels have had 4 batches of eggs & from the first 3, we have 7 survive. We do everything you and others say to do. We don't know what we're doing wrong. Right now, we have new eggs in their own tank. We had to remove a few white eggs as all suggest, only to find more the next morning. I did take time to remove them but had to move a lot of the good eggs around in the process. When looking with a magnifying glass, those left all seemed to have what looked like "eyes" forming inside and we thought we were all clear, with viable eggs. Later the next morning, there were more white ones! We have methylene blue in the water, a current with a bubble stone, & a sponge filter. The only thing I can think of is the water temperature. It hovers around 80-82. Can you give some advice? Thanks.
