Brilliant! This is exactly the tutorial that I was hoping for. As usual, your tutorials are the best on TH-cam. The recommended drills, demonstrations (especially the slow motion clips from different angles), clear instructions, and excellent insights/tips are invaluable. Inspires us to give the move a try, even if we never intended to at the start of the video. Awesome! 🙏
An excellent tutorial. Thank you. The baseline prerequisites you set are a pretty good gauge of whether a learner will get DUXes easily or not. Another thing, which you mention in passing. A mirror is perhaps the best prop one can use for feedback. Next, probably, is a heavy beaded rope. Using both will guarantee swift progress through many complex tricks. PS: Perhaps you should do a video on using mirrors and beaded ropes, maybe while putting a beginner through his/her paces for one particular skill -- without and with a mirror. The difference will be marked!
Yesterday I linked 2 double unders on my last attept. I'm not allowed to work on any other tricks until I can do 10 DUs in a row. This happens to be at the top of the list after Toad. Thanks for showing how it's done.
Great tutorial as always! I'm a ways off from this tho. 🤣 You always make it look so easy but your explanations make me feel like someday I might actually be able to get it. 💪🏼
Man these are tricky as hell 😂 I can do the running crosses finally was practicing everyday can do more than 17 now can do double unders but it’s like I need to skip between them I need to get them consistent I will practice a double under cross over I like your approach crossing after the rope passes under once when I try and cross in the beginning it just trips me up
Ya I can't do it the other way very well. practice single under crosses with your feet together as fast as you can. It should help you find that hip hinge position for the cross dubs.
How many days a week do you jump rope and how long is your avg. workout/session? I jump about 3-4 times a week and avg. 15 to 20 minutes. Short, but intense! Free 30 Day Challenge --> www.Jump15.com
Yeah, this is great :) You definitely have an out of the box insight learning tricks like this.. going for speed and muscle memory, nice approach :) thanks for this vid!
Hi Kyle, great video you use if I am correct a small rope. If you were to use a medium rope would you find it easier? I’m 5.11 just under 6ft I use a medium rope (1/4 pound) with anything from one to two knots depending on what I’m working on. When I’m on it’s great having the rope as short as possible however slightly longer gives me that increased margin for error. Keep up the great work. Kevin.
That is correct, I use a small. If I changed to a medium I would have to adjust to that length. Yes it provides more room for error, but it will slow my pace a little as well. I don't mind having margin for error small and am used to it now. If I go to a medium a skill like du crosses would be ok, but transitioning back to singles the rope would be too long for me.
I get really frustrated with criss crosses. Been trying to get it down for years and for some reason I just can’t get it. I continue to practice in hopes of getting to down.
