Update on the Jordana bronzer!! Sooo I don’t think the setting spray was a good choice lol. It’s really hard to pick up any bronzer on a brush or a finger now. Who knows, maybe that would’ve also been the case if I’d just used alcohol though. And there may be other products that setting spray would work better with.
It probably would go the same with alcohol. I found that some face products (and juvias place matte shadows) don’t wet press bc of their high talc content. You can only dry press them
Aww, that's too bad! If you can get your hands on some alcohol in a spray bottle (or just decant some of what you have into an existing, clean sprayer), you can try this again, maybe. Meanwhile, though, since it was a cheapie bronzer, it's not like you're out a lot of money.
I think the reason is dimethicone and other emolient ingredients in the setting spray. Dimethicone is used, among others, as a binder meaning that it makes the powder to want stick together instead of being picked up. It, well, binds the powder particles. And alcohol doesn't do that. It just helps everything to mix and then it evaporates
I found that so soothing and satisfying and now I simply must go and repress my Kosas cloud setting powder and my Milani luminoso blush as I cannot bear to waste any fragments of them! I lost a great bronzer because I didn’t get to it in time to repress it.
Repressing must be in the air ! I just swapped a blush into the Bh Raye Raye face and eye palette instead of the deep bronzer. Now the palette is customized to my preference. I also removed the glitter from the Aquamarine birthstone palette and put in a extra Colourpop Sapphire. I'm going to need to repress my facepowder soon too.
I just repressed two highlighters and they turned out pretty good. It was my first time. Normally I would just toss it, but they were ND lol like you said 4$ isn't a heartache. Happy Saturday
Videos like these are so relaxing ☺I love using setting spray for repressing products. So far I've only tried it with the anastasia setting spray and its worked on face powders and eyeshadows (matte and shimmer). I am curious to see how it compares to a matte setting spray. Personally, I don't like using rubbing alcohol for several reasons - I don't typically use it on a regular basis, not fond of the smell, and I haven't had much luck with my products after repressing. I have aa heavy hand and I think too much rubbing alcohol makes the formula change a bit.
I used to repressed face product but I found out most of the time my face don’t react well after the repress. So I just crush them and use as loose powder instead. Still love watching people doing it though. 😁💕
I know! It’s just that I would have to do that after every single time I use this bronzer. So I was repressing it in hopes it would become less prone to hard pan.
I also find that when I use too much alcohol, it gets too mushy and the paste tries to move around instead of being packed down. But once you blot off enough of the alcohol it becomes more manageable and behaves like it should.
I recently used too much, and I just layered paper towel over the product and pressed. If you pull up the paper towel with too much alcohol, more product sticks to the paper towel. Which is why layer the paper towel and press/hold so as much of the alcohol soaks up as possible before removing the paper towels. Product ended up fine. 😊

Ow that’s too bad! Would love to see you panning this one 🙁
Hi Sara, I think there's a liquid made for represing. I don't remember the name but if I found it, I will tell you.

The little intro with the products popping up to the beat of the music is sooooo satisfying
I’m so glad!! Had so much fun editing that part 😂

There is something about re-pressing products that I just love to do.
i looovee these kinds of makeup asmr videos!

Great idea re removing the pressed glitter. I rarely use them and they’re so messy so I might remove them too.
I just repressed my repressed butter bronzer - my last non cruelty free item hopefully will finish it now by end of the month!
Woohoo!🎉
Loved this video. So relaxing to watch 🥰
I repressed some matte eyeshadows and a matte bronzer yesterday and I also got that shimmery layer on top.
So strange!!
Thanks for making this! I loved watching it!
Thanks for watching!! So glad you enjoyed it 🥰
I use the same type of cuticle tool for repressing. I feel like most things I've repressed have honestly been fine but once in a while they get weird.

I have a little tea trainer (maybe 2 inch diameter). It really helps to get powders into a fine dust.
That’s a great idea!!!
Do you feel like you lose a lot of product on the tool you’re using? Bc it looks like the tool picks up when the alcohol is mixed.
For hard pan you can just use any tape. Place it on top of the hard pan and rub the tape with your finger or finger nail. Works like a charm.

@@SarahRoseBeauty oh i see
What happens when you accidentally put too much alcohol when repanning?
I use too much alcohol. Just press it and leave it to dry. It will evaporate eventually. That's what I do
It takes more time to dry out and you have to wait longer to try and see if it worked 😌 But if it’s too too liquid, maybe you can lose the whole thing

I re-panned a Physician’s Formula bronzer with alcohol and it did not work!
