2024 UHSAA 3200m Boys 6A

- Danny Simmons finished in 8:36 (at 4600' elevation) to win the 6A Boys 3200m. With altitude conversion of 12-13 seconds, this is one of the greatest performances for any high school athlete. The NFHS record for the 3200m is 8:34.

American fork has a great crop of runners. Would have been great to see how this team would have fared against Newbury Park several years ago with the Young twins and Sahlman brothers
While they are certainly extremely good, they didn't "even" win NXN this year. Definitely ONE of the top teams but Newbury Park might be THE top team
Impressive performances. Daniel rocked, but the number of runners under 9:20 is amazing. Back when I ran, there were, IIRC, exactly 2 runners under 9:30. Coach Eyestone won state my junior year with a time in the 9:20 range.
I love how excited and positive Danny is! I can tell he is a great person! Has he announced what school he will be running for?

Yeah. He’s committed to BYU. He’s planning on running one semester then going on a mission for the LDS church.

Why is this meet held in the middle of the week.
Would be great to run the state meet Friday Saturday so fans could go watch.
It goes from Thursday to Saturday. Three day meet in order to get through all 6 classifications.
Take a day off of work if you value something that highly. It’s a no-brainer

They have various play offs and championships through out the week in the middle of the day when they could be held on weekends.
Many folks work for a living and don’t have the luxury of taking those days off.
Friday evening and All day Saturday would be great.
