If i understand all of the alignment stuff correctly (I always issue that disclaimer! lol) - once you get all the parts and pieces somewhat back together - and before you torque down the lock nut on the tie rod end - take your measurements and adjust the tie rod end for your "course" adjustment. You will probably have to pop it out, screw it in or out, then re-assemble. For the fine adjustment, use the flat in unthreaded area of the stud to increase/decrease. When the measurements are right on - THEN torque down those nuts.
FWIW - you can do the full adjustment by using that 'flat' on the stud. So, just screw on the end piece a good ways, pop it in place, add the castle nut & pin, then use the flat to adjust as needed.

Hi I’m doing this project now I may be 1880. I bought new tire rods from the dealer. For the life of me, I can’t get the left one off. I know that the screw is a left hand rotation. My question is, if I’m facing the front of the machine which direction do I put the torque on to get it to loosen.? My fear is I’m going to break it.

    Does this affect “Toe-In” ?

Yes so for my understanding if your tires are wearing uneven or you need to change the tie rod end boots then you need to make this adjustment so that your wheels are in line with each other. If you are new to this type of work try to verify everything with an actual mechanic or do further research until you're satisfied with the answers. Good luck I hope this helped out
