Seems a bit weak in the Midrange and short on roll off in the highs, But I've kinda Noticd that with Un Rolled Tube Amps, takes too much messing around with different Tubes to make the Sound to "Your" liking. For my tastes at 5 Grand I prefer a Solid State amp, probably even a High End Vintage Pioneer or Sansui! Good Review Though
I don't know seems to be lacking something I thought maybe the top end can be a bit more punchy, good in the mid range but bass sort of bit undefined not sure if some sort of dropout somewhere in the frequencys. That company have had problems with bad power supplies issues could be thats what it is, would be 60 Hertz hum you're getting sounds about right, needs looking at. Did you try in the 4 ohm tap? might be better give you a stronger bass response. You should try and get a fezz audio titania evo kt 88 slightly a bit cheaper than the galleon around $4,000 how much is the galleon about 4 and 1/2, For build quality alone it's a better machine, I did hear one I thought it's fantastic interesting to hear your opinion if you get a chance! I was tempted to buy one maybe when I have a bit more money lol
Great review, I have this amp and love it. I do have the same problem with the input control knob and like you just use the remote. I don't have any noise from mine though. I be interested what feet you have put under this amp as its so heavy? I use the Denafrips Pontus ll 12th being feed by the Denafrips Arce Streamer and Harbeth P3ESR speakers. For me it's a brilliant setup and I enjoy hours of listen to music which is what this hobby is all about.

Hi, I noticed you have the Belden 9497 cable double run. I tried a single run and felt I lost some resolution detail. What is your experience with these cables
@@Tharbamar I got my hands on a pair of vintage s100 speakers and paired it with the Denon sx1 limited...then hooked up my old vincent sv737 and even though the vincent is less than half the cost...maybe becaise the vincent has 180 watts x2 8ohm and Denon class A has 50 watts x2...the vincent has more dynamics...crazy...so now i have a very rare Denon PMA SX1 LIMITED Class A fully balanced intigrated amp for sale...it would last a life time...you know all about it...maybe you know someone looking for it...for sale...🤪
@@Tharbamar thought your pma sx11 was class A too?...you played all speakers with it...I will tell you that my Denon pma sx1 limited only had the knob turned up a qauter of the way for volume...so it seemed as if it was able to push the spendor s1 without problem...but maybe just having more power is what makes the spendors shine...the spendor s100 is Sensitivity: 89.5dB
SX11 is not pure class A, Class A bias design with much more powerful AB amp, I auditioned back to back with SX1 and I chose SX11. It’s just synergy issue, Denon higher end amps and Spendor speakers never have good synergy, most Denon amps are designed with B&W and Dali speakers.

I tried both 8 and 4ohm taps and I preferred 4ohm tap, after that exclusively using 4ohm tap for all my sections, thanks

Class A need high efficiency speakers.

It is all depends on your preference and system, only thing you should consider is do you want R2R sound or Delta Sigma, that’s all I can say, thanks
