Mori Calliope is on the record as not liking Gacha games, for a number of reasons. But as she plays through the recent Resident Evil 4 Remake and finds the Merchant's Shooting Gallery, its Token Gacha gives her an experience that speaks to her tastes. For those unaware, there's no gacha/rng mechanic at play here. all rewards are predetermined when you start a new run, which is why save-scumming doesn't result in rolling different rewards. Everything is seed-based, so the slot machine is a facade.

The shooting galleries in this game and the OG Re4 triggered me like crazy because I couldn’t settle for anything less the score that would give you all the rewards.
I think I spent at least 2 hours on each shooting gallery lmao

The fact that you have bullet spray in RE4:R makes it orders of magnitude more difficult than in the OG.

RE4 original Shooting Gallery is so much easier by comparison.
I only managed to S Rank the first two. The rest, I have absolutely no patience whatsoever.
As a result, I couldn’t care less about the Remake one so I just hacked my way to get what I need (PC version) and then legitimately play them at my own time after doing 100% achievement.

the token charm is great, 20% increased melee crit damage, with that leons kicks and suplexes become EXTRA deadly, the striker charm is amazing, 7% increased movement speed, it doesnt sound like much but holy hell does it make a difference (its also a reference to the OG re4 striker glitch that makes you run faster), the beetle charm is rediculous, 100% healing item resale value, meaning you can sell thouse medi sprays, vipers, and fish for their full value, which can be a shit ton of mula at the lake, ada , 30% reduction in armor repair costs, so many good charms, i tend to run with increased pistol ammo, since I rock the Red9 quite a bit, 20% melee crit because I like breaking necks with a single kick and ashley, then when i need to sell things i change to luis, the beetle, and the one that gives 100% ammo resale value (i forget what the actual token is)
