Do you know how much money your company earns because of your work?
Revenue per Employee (RPE) is a metric used across tech companies to check for efficiency of business scale with lowest use of (spend on) manpower.
For example, let’s look at the RPE of a few major tech companies in the world...
👉🏼 Netflix earns USD 2.5 Mn per employee per annum
👉🏼 Apple at USD 2.3 Mn
👉🏼 Facebook is at USD 1.6 Mn
👉🏼 In the US though, VICI Properties earns USD 133 Mn per employee... but is only No. 2 in the world.
The No. 1 company earns more than double of that...
It is an Indian company...
and I bet you’ve not heard of its name!
👉🏼 Rajesh Exports from Bangalore has 141 employees as per its filings of FY23...
and a Revenue of Rs 3,39,713 crores… that’s USD 40 Billion!
That’s a Revenue per Employee of Rs 2409 crores per annum... USD ~290 Mn per annum!
It is not 10, but 100 times more than the RPE of the likes of Netflix and Apple.
Total employee benefit expenses of the company are Rs 215 Crores - which is a mere 0.06% of the revenue
Again as per the same filings, the avg Percentage increase in employee remuneration is just 5% in FY 23
The cash profit of the company is Rs 1532 crores - that’s almost Rs 11 crore per employee - more than USD 1.3 Mn for each employee
The company is into gold refinery and jewellery export and trade under the brand name Shubh Jewellers.
👉🏼 Even if you were to look at global averages, I refer to what I studied back at ISB in the subject of Strategic Talent Management...
…a company on an average makes 7X the amount of money from an employee’s work than what it pays the employee.
