  • A Chai Pot for the stove top is a new innovation in the US... and darn interesting to see...
Firstly, what are the problems that you think exist with making chai?
    - It boils over, so it requires monitoring by standing there lest it spills over
    - It requires a separate sieve to pour it out
    - It spills while pouring out, and what adds to the mess is washing 3+ dishes after and the kitchen slab
So this company in the US called Loka invented a pot that solves all of the above through their innovative design...
The tea boils over into a separate section of the pot instead of boiling out, thus creating what they call a Chai Fountain.
The sieve is part of the design and the rim of the pot is designed to give zero spills no matter where you pour from... almost necessary for someone like me who can never pour directly into a cup without dirtying the kitchen.
The company seems to have filed for a patent, and while I would hope they make money from the IP they hold...
I can’t help but wonder if it’s going to get copied almost immediately for a country like India, being manufactured by someone in China.
I don’t know about the masses but for a young married guy in Tier 1A India like me... this is genuinely solving a huge problem, and just needs me to get one chai bartan... quite like people use Moka Pots for filter coffee.
It’s 100% a Delta4 value proposition. Once I see this, I would rate it a 9 on 10 in tea making, and the older way of making chai would be say a 5 on 10. That’s 9-5=4 (a difference of minimum 4 in the rating)... which would make it a product that people would love to tell others about.
No wonder I’m talking about it here today.
I’ll just wait and see how quickly this gets replicated... or hope the inventor has the working capital and intention to tap on to this market in India themselves.
I mean, who has stopped anyone from selling Stanley cup knock offs in India anyway.

If someone is not careful enough even to keep watch while making own tea... not a chai lover.
