On my 1995 ls400 there were 4 bolts needed to be loosened to take off my power steering pump. Everything matches up to yours, but there's a 4th bolt on the right, just below the front bolt loosened in the video. Best ls400 power steering video on YT right now, you helped me a ton!

Great detail. Thanks! I was told the power steering pump pulley nut was left-hand thread. From your video I can see that it is right-hand thread which gives me the confidence to move forward. (subscribed)(singing your praises)

Nice video, no need to remove alt, at least on non vvti UCF10. However alt charge wire needs to come off to gain access to the bottom power steering bolt.
Take the negative off first!

Thanks for this. I'm in the middle of changing out my alternator on my 97, and once I had it taken out I saw how severely leaking the power steering pump was. I briefly considered doing that at the same time but I don't have the gumption at this point. Now that I know how to take the alternator out, I'll have an easier time of it at a future date.

Aye man I appreciate it, it’s a lot of help seeing what I need to do. I have a whine on my 00 ls400 and I get to change the pump and on my 98 ls the hose running from the switch to the air box is all kinds of messed up 😂

Had my pump changed a year ago or so. Idk what it is but sometimes my steering gets tighter for a couple of days and then fixes itself randomly. Don’t think I have any leaks because I turn my wheel for a min and don’t see and fluid under the car. Any ideas?

Good video... I'm trying swap the alternator. Power steering pump pulley nut is difficult to loosen. I saw where said leave belt on, but it still turns, Thanks for details. I will have use pry bar to hold pulley in place.

Ayo I did the same I took the pump
Out bc the switch from the pump was leaking. So it took it all off and replaced that part and put it all back together. I then turn the key and it won’t crank like it feels like the battery is dead. It’s not the battery bc I checked it to make sure. Is there something you think I missed, something I didn’t connect maybe ?

Make sure ur belt is on correct also did you bolt on the ground on the alt?
