That is awesome your dad is getting into media. My dad is incredibly bad with new electronics, but he loves helping me find items so I have to explain to him what to get which is super hard but he does a great job. I think you would benefit from a finger scanner to quickly scan those media barcodes in the moment instead of having to set them aside and look them up later, you could probably even do it on video and bring up on screen the "Scan" which could be exciting when you get a high value one. OH! I saw something @ 21:51 there are some figures in the case that are Byers Choice, I just found out about these figures recently and I'm sure this store probably priced them up, but the average one sells for $50, and more rare ones can be 2 or 3 hundred. I'm guessing it's typically more of an estate / garage sale find but I found one at a Goodwill a few weeks back that sold for $250 very quick.
I have a future video suggestion. When thrifting it seems to take me a long time to search items to find the sell through rate on the ebay app. Could you show your app in a video as you go through a small stack of CDs or some electronics like remotes, so we can see how you seem to do it so quickly and easily? I really must be doing this the hard way. Thanks for your videos!
I went thrifting after watching a video or two of yours. Found $250 in an old book just cuz I walked over to the CD section. Never made it to the CDs after that.
Location is everything. I spent about 10 hours doing research on baseball bats and golf clubs - watching TH-cam thrifting/reselling videos - and several months hitting up nearly 20 different thrift shops in a 130-mile radius. The results? Zero. Every single bat, every single golf club, for nearly 3 months in all those stores. Not a single item worth reselling. Some items are just no-goes in your area.
I actually love selling Wrangler retro! But i usually pick it up NWT, it doesn't sell that high so I'm not sure if I would get it used except maybe at the bins.

You pick up media like its cool but never look at the condition of the disk (on camera anyways) do you check condition, or do you refinish all the discs before selling... or do you not have alot of trouble with discs being to banged up?

Moat of the CDs I find that are profitable are ones I have NEVER heard of. Thrash metal and some religious ones are good. A lot of mainstream well known ones aren't as good
I am a big fan and love your teachings on how to sell. But by your own admission, the stuff you find are at thrift stores in well off areas. In short, this is not the kind of stuff the average thrift store carries. I live in Syracuse NY, a middle class area and all the thrift stores within 25 miles do not carry or ever even have “steals” like you find. I don’t just mean this video but all your haul videos. I should start making videos of trips to middle class areas and let people see what you should expect to find. Stuff that may eventually sell but very little in the area of high turn over rate.
My 6 year old knows to look on the feet of the my little pony and she will NOT get a fake 😂😂😂😂😂 she actually knows without looking at the foot to be honest 😅
Bats have item numbers on them. Look up the bat #, then filter results to only show sold listings. The number of items for sale divided by the # sold in the last 90 days equals the sell through rate.
certain sections like CDs and sunglasses you should probably cut and restart then show your finds because watching you scroll through rows of CDs just isn't top end video content.
That’s a tough one because a lot of people tell me they really like to “look with me” and really enjoy those longer segments. I’ll keep you opinion in mind thank you

There’s a photo to search feature on the eBay app. That’s how I look up products quickly.

What packaging do you use to ship CD's? Is it media mail?
I just use usps ground 4oz rate $4-$5 depending on distance
classical/ religious cds are sometimes bangers
Do you check the cd's to make sure they're not scratched? Is there a good way to clean them?
