@@k.susieroloff4801 I've done a few of her designs on albums that she's done on canvas and they're really not that difficult since she gives such good instructions. You should try it, you'd love it! :)
@@theharleygirl64 ...yes, I’ve done some hers, too... however, I thought this one was very intricate, more detailed...I shall try it, but, right now, I’m doing junk journals/ homemade journals and my paints are scattered...😻

I simply love this. Hopefully in about six weeks I can sit down and give it a go. Palette is perfect for our summer. Setting up the design looked complicated but your easy to follow. Splendid job Sue, as always.
How are you going, not getting too tired or too stressed I hope? How long before you head off back home?
I had another round of Radio Frequency Neurotomy but to my sacroiliac joints bilaterally last Saturday. They did a Careful Block as well as a general so was in for 7/8 hours. At least I was pumped full of anaesthetics and pain relief. Mind thanks to the block (epidural), it was as well that I had my crutches to use at home, being numb from the waist down.
I have a ways to go, like a couple of months. Pain isn't as bad as I expected. If this fails, I will be in the same boat as your husband having a pain simulator fitted. I don't think so at this point, even my husband says I have picked up just in four days too what I was.
It will be a test today as I take myself off to my regular Doctor and visit my mother. An afternoon's event that has been killing me since June. They want me to have my Gyny/Oncologist appointment this week but I cancelled till May but then I have an appointment with my orthopaedic as well. One knee it starting to
give me grief. It never rains but it pour.
But truly, how hard you going? Stay safe.
Wow so much! I still have you in my prayers as always I’m glad some is improving and hope you continue down that path. I’m doing ok feeling pretty good energy level. Of course still pain at surgery sites always is. Will be in for biopsies again when back home as pretty sure it’s back again. But knew that before I went out of town even just put it off. My Mom is healing well and everything is going good on her recovery. So I’m thrilled with that. Planning on being home sometime before March 4 as that’s when I scheduled my oncologist appointment. Just enjoying time with Mom while I can. Take care, thinking about you. Sue

Beautiful design and some of my favorite colors. I guess because it is a large piece, the camera had to be further away from it. My preference is to see it closer up (maybe because I wear glasses, and I’m getting old 😂). I hope you’re feeling well.
Sorry if it is hard to see. I have eye issues so can relate I try to make sure it’s close enough. But I also try not to zoom in to much so you can’t see where I’m dotting.
I just bought a new camera right before filming this one so have a learning curve again. Hopefully it won’t take me long to learn it.

That’s going to be hard as EVERYTHING will need to be scaled down. I made a smaller swirl design on a 6x6.. perhaps looking at this video and that one and doing something in between. Hope this is helpful. th-cam.com/video/HIO-BkEkNIo/w-d-xo.html

@@deniseslucher791 sorry not much help with this today. I work out measurements as I create. So to tell you I’d have to map it out on a canvas. I usually do the distance across the inner circle.
The size of that circle will determine it. After watching the videos on the swirl part you should understand what I’m saying. I hope.
But it’s personal preference how big or small you make it. I usually do 1 inch or 2 etc just for ease of folks copying me. But you could use any size you choose.
Then I do a circle further out where I want the swirl to end. On this design I just added two more circles between the swirl pattern so I could stop the swirl between but then continue it beyond that area.
I hope this makes some sense to you.
@@SueSloanI’m not sure I am mandala sophisticated enough to understand everything you said. I’ve never made my own pattern, but I did work on it today and I think I have something that may come close I’m very proud of myself! I’m going to start painting it tomorrow so if it’s anywhere near showing I will send you a picture although I don’t know how to do that. You can’t send pictures on this can you? Hi Sue.. This looks so gorgeous i have already watched this video thrice today!! however i have a question.. i have some canvas which are 8 x 10 inches and i am wondering if this can be replicated on that?
Yes and no. Of course it could be made on a smaller canvas but you would have to adjust how far you go out with your swirl. My goal in this was to make the swirl continue in the outer border. You could just do it as I did and omit what doesn’t fit. But if you’ve been dotting a while I would just make the inner circle smaller and each rotation smaller to fit it all in. Take the concept and make it your own. 😀
I struggle with the teardrops and comma strokes. When you pull the teardrop shapes out, are you using a tool with a pointed end? Any tips on how to improve them?
The tool you use to pull them really depends on the size of the paint your moving. For the most part I just use my .8 ball stylus tool which barely has a ball to it at all its more like a thick needle. But for tiny dots you need to use a needle type tool that is smaller yet. You really just need to play around with it to get the feel for it. But if you get a .8 or .5 mm tool it will move paint nicely as long as your paint is a good consistency. I hope that helps. The .5mm tools are very hard to find most are listed as embossing tools.

It’s inches. So if it’s set to 1 it’s actually a two inch circle it’s always double. 😀. Spirals are hard for a lot of folks. Just stick with it, you’ll get it!
