As an American, I was a bit confused when I first saw a video of the Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band parade in April at Blumen Hügel, since it started with the band members in their uniforms, and a group of youth in what appeared to be school uniforms, gathered in the parking lot, before the parade. I wondered if the ones in the school uniforms might be a choir, and that there would be a concert with singing? During the parade, they were following along behind the band, clapping their hands - but there was no singing concert. With some additional searching on web sites, I found that they were the 1st term band members, who weren't yet familiar with the music and choreography for the parade. That was what confused me, due to the April time frame. Then I found that Japanese schools operate on a Tri-mester system, and that their academic year begins in April. One web site explains that the first semester runs from April until around July 20 - then for most students, summer vacation lasts from July 20 through August 31 (the KT SHS Band practices during this break). The second semester begins in early September and continues until about December 20, when the students go on winter vacation. The third and final semester of the school year begins in early January and ends in mid-March. In most American schools, the academic year starts in late August or early September, and ends in May or June.

THIS is the most important event of all the year seeing the new generation arriving and old ones are going to colleges later everybody with the great memory in their precious golden years
Been looking for this one for a while. I know the tunes, I know the moves, but I still watched it from start to finish - the magic of KT. Nice to see the Japanese spectators applauding at the end. Americans would have been whooping and hollering, but the Japanese have their own ways. Near the end of the same year, 2018, watch out for the whole band (including the first years in "civvies" shown here) give an outstanding performance at the Tokyo Instrument Fair. These are high school students, we should respect their privacy, but still enjoy their performances.

Well, I am very impressed. I am no expert on marching/parade bands. I would have to say that this group must certainly be one of the best in the world.

All of a sudden when I refresh TH-cam, I get a lot of newer versions of 2018 (my favorite year) that I have never seen. I am thrilled watching my favorite class from Tachibana but also my favorite student who plays saxophone. She is the cutest girl.
CLUB music program. This is an after-school club, run by the students themselves. They pick out the music, design the choreography, and the older students (Senpai) teach the younger students (Kohai.) ..Joe

Mía felicitaciones a la institución educativa japonesa, por crear un modelo educativo distinto y con proyección, dejando a un lado las estructuras de bandas institucionales, que más se asemejan a bandas militares que a bandas musicales (este comentario final, lo hago con mucho respeto y en consideración que es hora de romper paradigmas y acercar a nuestros niños, jóvenes y adultos, a una educación innovadora)...
Gosto muito de ver essa banda tocar. O sincronismo entre os participantes é algo impressionante. Como que todas conseguem memorizar tantos movimentos. Os orientais são muito bons nisso. Parabéns a banda!

円陣の橘クライから始まるブルーメンのパレード、中でも駐車場から続く坂道は映像としてとても美しくて大好きです。素晴らしい演奏とダンスを披露しながら坂を上る姿は温かくまぶしい太陽が昇るのにも似て若い命の輝きを象徴するかのよう、名画のワンシーンのようです。
ここ最近偶然マーチンバンドを見つけて、見てるけど飽きない。橘ステップは独特で素晴らしい、若さ溢れる、見て楽し、聞いて楽しい、素晴らしい.

ローズパレードで日の丸の国旗をしっかり掲げてくれていた子がドラムメジャーなんですね。
もうすでに出来上がってる感じの上級生について行くのは大変だけど、新入生のみなさんもキツい練習を乗り越えて戦力になってもらって、最強の橘のバンドを作り上げて感動を味わって欲しいです。
日本代表として世界中に受け入れられたプライドが現れたパレードですね❗ＤMも先輩のプライドを受け継いでそうですね。

hola mi nombre es celia castrejon escribo del estado de Morelos Mexico ase poco tiempo empese a ver los videos de esta banda musical escolar y me parese muy bonita la forma de fomentar la buena musica entre los jovenes y por supuesto para deleite de las personas que los escuchamos yo por lo pronto me gustaria mandar un saludo y una felicitacion a lus alumnos y los profesores de este colegio

Mía felicitaciones a la institución educativa japonesa, por crear un modelo educativo distinto y con proyección, dejando a un lado las estructuras de bandas institucionales, que más se asemejan a bandas militares que a bandas musicales (este comentario final, lo hago con mucho respeto y en consideración que es hora de romper paradigmas y acercar a nuestros niños, jóvenes y adultos, a una educación innovadora)...

Gosto muito de ver essa banda tocar. O sincronismo entre os participantes é algo impressionante. Como que todas conseguem memorizar tantos movimentos. Os orientais são muito bons nisso. Parabéns a banda!
