Don't forget to consider initials when picking a name! Like Rock Anderson Taylor spells RAT or Timothy Ives Thompson - well, you get the picture! I honestly think that's way more important than the syllables.

After watching your girl and boy name videos, I think you are having a boy!!
I am probably wrong but you seemed more excited going through the boy names.
We are having a boy and it took us awhile to find a name.

We have a Cyprian James and an Ambrose Joseph! (Both boys). Clearly we both appreciate the pairing of a more “out there” name with a solid traditional name.
    love all the unique names!!
    Here’s my boy list :P
Tobias, Finian, Fabian, Julian, Linus, Isaac, Judah, Jonah, Jeremiah, Silas, Micah, Malachi, Luca(s), Clement, Elias, Isaiah, Augustine, Ambrose, Cyril, Jerome, Blaise, Ignatius, Anselm, Cassius, Cassian, Caspar, Florian, Valentinus, Valerian, Ephrem, Sebastian, Vianni, Peregrine, Callistus, Emmaus, Laurence (Laurrie), Solanus, Leeson, Cephas, Athanasius, Kairos, Casimir, Isidore, Bosco, Ananias, Pascal, Kieran, Phinneas, Irenaeus, Hilary, Ezra, Kieran, Matthias

    • @MK-oe5md
      @MK-oe5md 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These names are super cool!
Valerian is cool but all I can think of is the disguisting root you can take for sleep.
Calista is a girl one along the "Cal" trend. Similarly Clio/Cleo. You could even do something like Kleona.
Athena is also nice, a very stong girl name.
These names gibe me Greek/Latin/Italian/Southern/biblical/literary vibes for some reason.
      You put Kieran twice haha

This is super late to the game but figured I would share it anyway because someone might see it and like it as much as I do. It's a family name, my great-great-Uncle's (2nd great Uncle?) name: Tobias. His brother, my other GG-Uncle's name was Matthias. Both of thier names were pronounced differently than traditional German pronounciation though. Like instead of Too-bii-as it was Tuh-bi-us and instead of Ma-tii-as it was Muh-tay-us. More relaxed sounding which in German I feel is a strange concept. Especially in the late 1800s/ early 1900s.

I totally get what you mean about your list from the first time. First time around we had picked out Wren for a girl and Wilder for a boy. We had a girl. This time I didn't like Wilder, so our boy names were Oren or Reid. We had a girl again, so now we have a Wren and a Fern. Maybe I'll get to use a boy name on #3. I was leaning towards Reid because Oren is starting to come up on a lot of lists, there's even an Oren at my 2 yo swim class, plus it makes me think of Orrin Hatch.

So far we aren’t liking many other boy names but would probably want the middle name to be John or Jack/Jax

We just found out today we are having a boy and Noah has been our only boy name we both like! But i do love a nickname and im struggling with middle names. Hopefully a nickname can lead into a good nickname.

As someone who always had to spell their name... please don't use "creative spelling" 😩

Same, I’ve got into the habit of spelling my surname as I’d say 80% get it wrong. Though I’ve had some interesting spelling versions of my first name over the years and I’m not talking about Sophia, which is close enough for me 😂

Malakai and call him Kai. Malakai isn’t super common in my region (Midwest USA) but Kai is fairly common. And Malakai is a biblical name also.

If I ever have a son, I would name him Henry, but call him Hank. I think Hank is a good, strong nickname. And then you have the more formal "Henry" for professionalism or if that's just what he would prefer to go by.

@@heyshayla I'm a huge nickname person, too. I also think it's good to have a more formal name, because then your child knows when they are in trouble 😂 I'm only called Jessica when I'm in trouble. It's good to know what you're walking in to, lol.
