Pretty sure Matteo is Italian. But in spain there are also way too many Matteos. The name is steadily spreading all over and that is why I wouldn't be using it, although it was one of my favorites. Might be using Mattino instead, which means "morning" in Italian.

Regis reminds me of Regis Philben in the US. A tv talk show host. It’s ok but I would always picture him.
