I agree 100%. The system has massive potential, the question is if Blizzard will improve it or just keep it as is. The big bad feeling from the traits being in majority boring and uninteractive is that it is combined with not getting anything else new. If we for example got a new talent or tier sets or something along with these traits I don't think as many people would be so dissappointed. But if these traits are all we get they need to be improved upon heavily to keep players interested in my opinion. Great video, keep up the good work!
Personally I prefer passive abilities. Most classes have enough buttons to worry about and key bind. My issue with Azerite gear is that you can’t pick traits for each spec and have them change to those traits when you change your spec. I know you can pay to change them but I tank and dps and have to change traits sometimes 2-3 times in a day because I’m asked to do different things. Just make azerite change like your main stat does when you switch talents.
As far as game changing BiS traits.. Problem is some of them are very niche. Whispers of the Damned gives a stacking buff whenever u void bolt increasing the damage of your Mind Blast. Stacks dont get consumed, so you're encouraged to chain together 2 Void Forms with DA to get the max out of this trait. However, its only ST, and its not going to help you in dungeons where you need a mixture of ST and AoE. This pushes more generic traits such as Thunderous Blast even further up the list. Same goes for pure AoE traits like Lunar Shrapnel on Boomkin.. It just feels awful to have traits that contribute 0 DPS to a difficult encounter.
I think more people would rather have a passive trait than a use trait. Because if they dude a ring of USE traits.....then its always going to be one that is picked, so in turn, it's the same concept. And you're just gonna bitch about that as well....
Agreed! It needs more abilities man. It feels so underwhelming right now. I want the choices to feel rewarding and good when i pick them over one another. Atm it feels so dull! The concept is google, it has potential though! Ps new talents would have been amazing too
TRRG: I do not think they are going to make any new game breaking traits simply because everything they are doing seems to being to bring mass appeal to the "casual" gamer. Less abilities off global simplifying rotations no more Artifact traits...etc. I fear in a month or 2 when everyone has max rep and raids are out population going to drop significantly. If you are not in a good Mythic dungeon group and or do not enjoy running them it's pretty much raid and that's it. Why even do the daily emissary anymore in a month? No more BLP terrible daily rewards...I love this game but am actually playing less now than I was at then end of Legion. Hope I'm wrong.

It sucks... And now they are making heritage armor for lack of armor variety...

Of course but it's not like they're going to add a new talent row in the next patch :p
