Fort Worth Homelessness Crackdown -- proposal would require permission for camping

  • Since the actions taken in Austin on homelessness, camping laws are getting another look. For Worth Police say the homeless camping on private property should require written permission from the property owner, which currently is not the case. Police say it would speed up the process to verify what illegal campers tell them when officers are investigating.

I live in fort worth and they all hang out on Lancaster. But there are alot of businesses on that street. and normal people dont want to go to those businesses. Because homeless people come up to them and ask for money. And I'm sure older woman or women with kids get that uncomfortable feeling.

I don't know...I don't go to church or give to charity and I think you are wrong about getting asked for money. I like it, because I know it's not going to an evil corporate tax shelter but a real person. You probably ask people for stuff or to do stuff that makes them feel uncomfortable all the time and you don't even know it because you're used to getting people to do stuff that makes them feel uncomfortable all the time, but you can't honestly tell me that you're going to do business with any of the businesses over there anyway. You make me feel weird every time you ask for donations, but I don't think you should be removed from the area and jailed or fined. That's oppressive.

Giving them tickets will only over crowd the jail system. Your making one problem turn into another. When it's cold outside they will wanna go to jail three meals and shelter.

John Watcher trying to build a complete lot with homes but I have no money. I’m trying right now to get the 398 for non profit status. Then hitting up city council and Tarrant council for donations. It’s 6 acres of land. If you look at Emerald Village - you will see what I am going for.

They’re going to fine homeless people that many do not have a job or some sort of financial stability. There’s a growing epidemic of homeless people across the America. The latest count of homelessness was at 1.2 million homeless people and family’s across America in the year 2017. Its sad that America sends Millions of dollars in financial aid overseas, but have a problem providing aid for homeless people. Many did not choose to be homeless and have worked and had good paying professions.

Ticket ?? Why would the city even think about that, That is
not helping the situation, people who live in homes, some of them don't pay their
tickets ! If not paid, so they
will lock them up ! Criminals
    will be walking around free
because the jails are overcrowded, a lot of
    those homeless people
    have lost good paying jobs,
a lot don't have family or anyone to turn to for help.
    Now everything is online,
    Millions of applications are
    sent through, if a business
fails to call you or hire someone else, It's not their
fault, a lot of people choose the wrong path to follow, that's their choice, but their are some who are still out their trying. I think the city
    should build more shelters
and maybe have a on spot hiring day, like every 90 days and do a Drug Screening and Background Check.

Na Na i was being sarcastic. Of course I dont think we should execute homeless people. Hell We have more empty houses and apartments than we do homeless, I say give them a home. But then people, probably like you, would start bitching about “why they get a free place?” instead of being happy we solved homelessness over night.

Its illegal to be homeless in North Carolina and soon to be south Carolina...this is pretty much moving in that direction like it's illegal to FEED the homeless in Dallas...arent there any human beings out there that have any compassion left. I get that they shouldn't be camping on private property or trashing the places they camp. But I think it be a good idea to take a little piece of that big pie ft worth has in their budget and invest in an outside homeless camp area.. Maybe hire a couple of the homeless ppl to keep it clean and running smoothly so cops aren't wasting their time fining ppl they know can't pay the fines and get out there stopping more horrific crimes and putting some real criminals behind bars .
