Great interview. Dave Davies has been a true supporter of The Save Denmark St aka Save Tin Pan Alley Campaign and he of course recorded the demo of You Really Got Me with The Kinks at Regent Sounds Studios at 4 Denmark St London
Just saw him at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, N.J., from 8 to 9:30 p.m., April 13. Excellent show. Place was packed. Dave is an underrated guitarist. Bandmates were superb. Included in the mostly Kinks-music set was a wonderful version of Waiting for You, which got the crowd singing along in full throat, and he brought the house down with You Really Got Me to end the show. Only slight disappointment was not hearing anything from Sleepwalker. That song and Jukebox Music would have been icing on the cake. Another highlight was the wiggly and delightful Rebecca as a backup singer.
@@bonnerscott5374 Dave had a stroke. Common sense tells me that Dave needs to hold auditions for a new lead singer..someone to help him out..and improve his sound. And yes..I do.
