Freude Herrscht !!! Danke viel mal für diese Eindrucksvolle Präsentation , der PILATUS FLUGZEUG WERKE in Stans-Staat , wo ich 1983 eine Schnupperlehre , zum Flugzeug bau Spengler , machen durfte !
PC24 is an amazing aircraft - the Australian Royal Flying Doctor Service were a launch customer, ability to land on dirt strips and then get patients back to hospital over long distances at jet speeds is a game changer.
I love the RFDS... they're fantastic. I was invited to their opening day for their new facility at YPAD... unfortunately COVID hit and that was the end of that. A few years back I did some deliveries to their old base at YPAD and someone took me through for a quick look around. Big respect to what they do. :)
It was heavily designed around the needs of the RFDS, there are very few operators who take plans into the conditions the flydocs do especially purposely landing on something that isn’t intended to be a landing strip!
Well… 949BZ is up for sale, so I think we’ll be seeing some Pilatus vlogs coming soon outside of the next few! I would hope for the 24 because I love jet aircraft, but it’ll more than likely be the 12.
Everyone talks about the PC-12 but to me the PC-24 is the most amazing. Its ability to operate on dirt strips and takeoff in 3000 feet to blows away everything else on the market. The TBM is my favorite TP but the PC-24 is my favorite jet. I love the factory tours since I started as a machinist and am now a mechanical engineer. Thank you for making this video!
It can't really land on dirt. The 24 is very fragile and prone to damage when taken off road. Whilst it has the performance to do it, you will find that none of the aeromed operators in Australia are actually taking it to dirt strips for anything other than promotional videos.
The planes are amazing but more amazing to me are the awesome machines that build the things. Also that lady has mad skills with her hand-drawn artwork!
Flavia is certainly very talented but the best part is the results of her work on display in each aircraft that leaves the nest!! I grew up around an old Taylorcraft on floats in Alaska in the early 1950s, and always loved the idea of an aircraft that wasn't limited to pretty asphalt airstrips! My dad and his friend who actually owned the plane, flew all over the Territory of Alaska "in the Old Days." Taylorcraft was great in its day but the PC-12 and PC-24 are incredible!
Lovely video, impressive to see how clean and organized everything is, and funny to see you were first visited Pilatus factory and not Daher 😄 Big Pilatus fan here
Thank you for this amazing and awe inspiring video! Over decades, I worked with both Swissair and Crossair, and was an independent airline technical representative to Douglas and Boeing. Daily, I watched how aircraft were built on production and delivery lines, and Pilatus was always renown for its supreme quality. Visiting industrial mechanical shops and watchmaking facilities, I have long admired what I term "The Swiss Culture of Quality". It's everywhere! Take a look at the Pilatus facilities; extremely clean, well organized and you can instantly tell the quality and drive of its people. The same is true throughout the country in countless ways, inspired by unique beauty and a deep desire to create only the very best that can be obtained. Bravo gentlemen! Your example continues to inspire me to do better! I only wish we in America could come close to this level of craftsmanship and quality!
Thx Stevo...fine integration of craftsmanship and automation. You can tell employees are happy and proud of their work. Quality aircraft is the result.
Thanks to all for this fantastic factory tour👍 Incredible to follow the production process from start to finish and see the detail involved. What a great place to work. State of the art👍💥
Great video, as a retired corporate pilot I’ve seen my share of new aircraft builds, never gets old. I was somewhat shocked when you were in that completed aircraft with what looked like regular shoes on, I’ve only seen booties or bare socks in new aircraft. LOL
Very interesting, all Pilatus are said to be amazing planes, I love them and it's great that this "little" company makes such great airplanes. Swiss clocks quality !
It was nice to see the pride they have in their quality control. Pilatus must be an amazingly run company. Thank you for the tour. I just retired from purchasing and miss plant tours the most about my job.
I didn't get the name of the gentleman Pilot. He was a perfect instructor for the trip; friendly, calm, dedicated. What a treat to all of us your followers Steve. Thank you!🛬
Steve congrats on expanding your focus and leveraging your viewership to explore other areas of the aviation world. A suggestion for your next one: Boom Supersonic.
Wow Steve. Finally I see you in a Pilatus. (As I have mentioned in comments of the past) Since not knowing why You are over there. I will just wish you enjoy yourselves. Can't wait to see see you flying one of those.... 👍🏻👏🏻
I've been on 3 aircraft plant tours. Twice to Cirrus in Duluth Minnesota just before their Cirrus Jet went into production. The other time was at Cessna in Wichita Kansas. At Cessna they were certifying the Cessna Citation X and they were working on the JPATS Trainer entry which wasn't selected. At Cessna I saw the Caravan line as well as one of the Citation lines. It's cool seeing how the plane starts with one part and grows to a fully built plane. In the Twin Cities I've also been to the Ballistic Recovery Systems plant at Fleming Field in South St Paul. They make the Airplane parachute for Cirrus planes, as well as parachutes for supply drops for the US Military.
Oh Steveo, If I had known you are in Switzerland, I would have made a lot to meet you on a drink. I suffer from some kind of multiple sclerosis and therefore my radius has decreased at lot. I imagined 1000 times sitting on the right seat next to you and flying into a sunset somewhere in Florida. Now that you have visited Pilatus, I want to say not more but thank you for making your flying accessible to me. Take care, fly safe! Magnus
Thanks for making an honest to God factory tour that features the people that work there instead of inserting your personality all over the video. I normally dread these kind of "tours" because you really don't learn much and usually have to deal with an over the top host. Not here! A great idea to mix having the factory folks and yourself alternate hosting. And the short snippets of you and your wife (again, something I usually dread) were entertaining because they were short and mostly AFTER I learned something. Great job. Neat plane.
Amazing tour, and holy cow what a place and team - might have to watch this video several times, very jealous. Thank you Pilatus for the showcase & access. Steve are you living and working there now or something?
Amazing tour Steveo. Truly a great experience. It reminded me of Embraer. My father was one of the first employees at Embraer and I was raised going there all the time and hung out with their pilots.
Very nice and enjoyable tour to see how these planes are made and how everyone work as one to put all this together in a jaw-dropping natural Swiss setting. Bring back fond memories of my visit. Hint: There are a few PC-12's in India but not a PC-24 yet. It is only matter of time the first launch customer for this awesome jet shows up. Enjoy rest of your stay, Steve.
Hey Steveo, enjoy your content, and of course Pilatus! Can't believe you visited my tiny hometown, Stans!! Nostalgia hit hard. Greetings from the Bay Area.
Steveo, tell me the truth! Please! Flavia Vianna, the Pilatus designer is brazilian? She is so gorgeous!!! These brazilians know what BEAUTY IS!!! CHEERS!
I know the mechanical engineer who designed the Honeywell RDR-7000 weather radar on the front of the PC-24. It’s cool to see it installed on something.
Fantastic! If you have anymore footage of the process, please show it. The electric cable harness assembly footage was very much appreciated. The young age of the workforce😊
Super interesting video. Was in Stans/Engelberg area for a video shoot just couple of days ago, would have loved to meet you in person! Should you end up in Zurich one day, pleeeeease let me/us know! ;-)
Steveo, what an awesome video. I was in Lucerne about 8 years ago. I saw a few PC 12s in primer flying over the lake. I wondered what the factory was like. Thanks for finally getting me my tour. Great video.
Steveo...in my home country...not more than 80miles away...hope you had a good time in switzerland! A great fan who knows every tbm movie on your channel! You helped me a lot during covid-time...lots of dreaming in front of my big screen with your feeds between my flights in FS2020! And it was a torture, to wait such a long time during your job change. Hope you'll make a lot more in your 940! (I check every day, if my bell is screening a new video...) Thank you for all that!
The factory was indeed used as a location in the James Bond movie "Goldfinger", well spotted; I wonder if they still have this gold cutting lazer in a backroom somewhere! 🙂
I LOVE the PC 24! The only improvement I can suggest is increasing the range. I know they increased the range recently from 1800NM to 2000NM but it still can’t reach Hawaii from Southern California (~2300NM). If Pilatus can increase the 24’s range to 2500NM and keep it single pilot certification, I would be in airplane heaven!🛩️
Nice video, I stay fairly close, have stopped before to let a red PC-9 across, want at those lights, was a slightly different location, no lights, wasn’t sure if I was allowed there but the pilot waved so must have been ok!
Freude Herrscht !!! Danke viel mal für diese Eindrucksvolle Präsentation , der PILATUS FLUGZEUG WERKE in Stans-Staat , wo ich 1983 eine Schnupperlehre , zum Flugzeug bau Spengler , machen durfte !
I feel very humbled when I see what these people are doing. Huuuuuge respect.

Definitely a versatile jet! 👍🏼

Don’t know why but the search for the paint shop was my favorite part of the video.
Steveo, spill the beans. You were not there merely as a tourist, were you? Perhaps a bit of factory training going on?
Agreed...I get this funny feeling Steve is in-process on his PC-24 Captaincy
Yeah, I agree. He's finally seen the light. All hail Pilatus!
Well… 949BZ is up for sale, so I think we’ll be seeing some Pilatus vlogs coming soon outside of the next few! I would hope for the 24 because I love jet aircraft, but it’ll more than likely be the 12.
exactly. he is prob saying. bring the pc12 to tbm speeds and technology capabilities
@@TheLeoojedapno. TBM is a sports car. PC12 is an SUV and much larger. Different missions, different planes.

The BAe 125 (Later Hawker 800/900) could do all those things as well and it was being built 30 years ago. Have you noticed how alike they are...?
@@tango1571 I have not but I will. Thanks.
@@tango1571Member of our club fly this species and years ago he invite me to check them on ground. Nice airplanes.

Boeing needs to hire Pilatus to advise them on how to build planes with the highest level of quality control and modern manufacturing techniques.
Pilatus doesn't have 50 subcontractors making their parts.
хахахахха компания боинг сама может учить других :-)
no dei
Steve great video. Thank you for showing us the factory of a great plane.
Glad you enjoyed it
I could enjoy working in a place like that. Amazing stuff.

Pilatus PC-12 or PC-24 are great planes in their respective categories. Would be great to see more content with either one!
Great aircraft in an amazing home base.
Swiss manufacturing is exemplary.
Boeing should be taking notes!
Absolutely huge Pilatus fan! Fell in love with the PC-12 and the capability when I was young. Still hands down my favorite plane
Lovely video, impressive to see how clean and organized everything is, and funny to see you were first visited Pilatus factory and not Daher 😄
Big Pilatus fan here
Just started flying the PC12 NG with PlaneSense. Amazing plane to fly and magnificently crafted
That company has been on my radar to fly for since I started working towards getting my certs.
Beautiful aircraft. Hard to beat Swiss precision manufacturing.
Thanks for the great videos on Pilatus which is my favourite planes. Great work !

Also one boss has a great farm in South Australia.
Amazing Pilatus tour SteveO Love it. Maybe you should transfer to PC24 type rating and fly this small and fun jet in the future.
You are very lucky. My Aunt lives in Ch and I can’t get a walk round!! Basically told to piss off!! But I’ve been though factory’s like Piper.
I thought getting a new car was cool. Guess I got a looooong way to go, lol! Bet it smells so good in that shop with all the Spruce.

I hope the rumours are true and the Spanish Armed Forces fly the PC-24 too, it's a beautiful plane.
Great to see the Pilatus factory now can you tell us more about that pretty Swiss blond and some more close up pictures of her.
You where in Switzerland!?!? That factory is near my hause!! It World have been awsome to meet you!!!😢
Awesome video....thank you Stevo ......Soooo miss the PC-6......😢
