I'd like to see a tragedy. 90% of super-hero movies are the hero's journey, which is fine, but I'd like some variation. Something like Revenge of the Sith but in the Spider-Man universe. The Morbius IP had the potential to be a tragedy, but alas it was not meant to be. Or you could have a family movie, like The Incredibles, but with the symbiotes, where Eddie, Venom, Carnage, and Riot each have to learn to individually grow as characters and get along with each other.
“You have Spider-Man, the greatest of them all.” This line is incredible. Out of all the Marvel characters, of all the great and amazing stories in Marvel, Spider-Man has always been the big one. In my opinion, he shares a special spot in the world of heroes, right alongside Batman and Superman. Those three are what many think of when you mention Marvel or DC. Edit: I forgot to mention Superman, whoops haha.
Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man have always been the big three of comic books. Even after all the movies and exposure these three stand head and shoulders above the rest in influence, character, and heroism.
@@vkpotter260 IIRC Spider-Man was the most profitable superhero and most recognizable in the world. Don’t know if he still is but if anything I’d say they’re all equal with maybe Spider-Man having the edge with little kids.
I agree with Andrew for being the Spider-Man of Sony’s multiverse because he’s the one actor who has been screwed over and he deserves a second chance.
Nah. He does deserve a second chance, but the way it's going, he'd just get screwed over again. This universe is repeating the same mistakes as the last.
They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits of NWH But do you know who else deserves a big thank you? LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her partner (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the original trilogy and TASM1 had depth Arad on the other hand just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
I think if she was still alive today I believe she should have pulled John watts a side and said Yeah look. Spider Man should not be like this and like that
Just wanna say man as someone who's a moderate fan of all things marvel, and someone who didn't grow up reading comics, I get closer and closer to diving head first into the illustrated worlds of comics with every video I watch by you. Your passion is palpable and I love every second of your content.
Dive in. There are times you'll be disappointed but honestly when comics are at their best they're doorways to worlds that no other storytelling medium can reproduce
Having Garfield return as an older Peter Parker and introducing Miles, both in a separate universe, is exactly the smart and exciting kind of thinking that Sony should be doing... which is exactly how we know they are never going to do it.
@@Hardrive2677 Tom's Peter Parker is too young to be mentoring Miles. It'll be another decade before he is. Garfield's Peter Parker is already in his thirties. It's perfect. However this all assumes Sony is competent in executing this strategy, which they aren't.
@@Spore6001 even tho I agree, there’s 1 big problem with that. it was confirmed in homecoming that miles is in the mcu so clearly Disney has some plan to have miles alongside Tom
One thing that hadn't crossed my mind until seeing this video is the potential for andrew's spider-man. I've always loved the darker side of Spider-Man, and Andrew could definitely pull that off. One that carries a lot of sadness, makes bad decisions, and hits the ultimate low point to where you have to question if he's even worthy of the red and blue anymore. Spider-Man web of shadows will always be my favourite spidey game because it really tapped into that darkness Spider-Man can hold sometimes, will you choose to be the hero or do what's right for yourself?
You brought up a good point, having Mile's story happen in the Sonyverse, we could have something reminiscent of how Mile's story wasn't originally in the main 616 universe, but in the Ultimate universe, and like how in the Ultimate universe Miles eventually ended up in 616. Miles could start out in the Sonyverse, and end up in the MCU.
VENOM had the writer from 50 SHADES OF GREY MORBIUS had the writers from GODS OF EGYPT And now KRAVEN THE HUNTER has the writers from TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT Sony's cinematic universe is doomed to fail And all because of AVI ARAD
@@benefistben7844 The only reason why they are decent is because Tom Hardy's amazing performance and character that he poured into Eddie and Venom. Not because of good writing.
The Venom movies are fine. They're literally love letters to all the edgy solo Venom stories from the past. That's why they're fun and actually work. Morbius that's a completely different story.
@@mrmeatball1478 it’s good enough writing, the movies are fun and dumb, but the writers know that and just play along with it, Hardy’s performance is great and the cherry on top, the problem with comic book nerds is that you guys want every movie to be a masterpiece, they’re corporate made capeshit movies, as long as they’re fun and entertaining that’s good enough
I feel like the best choice they can make right now is to move to the silver screen and make a Spider-Man story with the same amount of freedom and care as Daredevil. Each villain would have his time in the sun, a deserved backstory for them all and a chance to be as real and as different from the MCU as possible. That or just make an animated Spider-Man 4 or TASM 3...
The reason why the original trilogy and TASM1 were memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth She was the only one capable to tell AVI ARAD when to back off Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1 Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise Spiderman was nothing without her
I was just watching a video last night that covered Spider-Man 4's production and she featured in it fairly prominently. It's a shame which hands the Spider-Man movie IP fell into by and after the production of TASM which led to the bumpy ride that franchise has still technically been driving down today - over a decade later.
what about in Spiderman 3 (2007) if she told Avi Arad to back off then? i heard one of the reasons Spiderman 3 wasn’t as great as the last two movies had something to do with Avi as one of the factors.
Having an older Peter Parker is something a lot of us want, we saw what it would be like with ps4 Spider-Man Andrew is in the perfect position for that
I hope Sony just abandons morbious with literally no mention because even hearing the words dr. Micheal morbious just makes me bust out laughing and there’s just no room for redemption
Number 1: put Andrew Garfield back to work bc he fucking loves this character. He loves playing this character with his heart and soul, and cares about the script he's given. No Way Home was our wake-up call to how good Andrew is. Put him alongside Tom Hardy. Have a blast. Give him something substantial to work with. Make it a love triangle romcom between Eddy, Peter and Venom and make it as goofy but heartfelt as it should be.
@@viktor2694 Andrew waited 8 years to return as Peter. No Way Home was the story opportunity that SONY decided he'd be allowed to return. Sidenote, actors are workers. If they don't get paid fairly, why should they work with the studio? Andrew may love Spidey, but he's also aware that Sony screwed him over before. No amount of love for a character should outweigh an actor's mistreatment by a studio.
Who knew "Spider-Man" would be such a seriously meaningful name for us. Imagine "Peanut-man" being said in a serious tone without a hint of laughing at that idea. In all seriousness, Spider-Man is the best superhero ever. Each story is so much deeper than it has an right to be.
I cannot imagine myself saying "Peanut-man" without laughing. I am smiling right now. But, "Spider-man", god, the name makes me emotional; nostalgic, if I will.
@@SecondFool It reminds us of Peter, not a spider. While Peanut-Man reminds us of the ridiculousness of peanut and a man,a superhero who can, what?shoot peanut out of his nose?Give me a break.
peter and mj naming their daughter after may like in the comics would be really a wholesome and beautiful component of a spider-man 4, and I think maguire, dunst, and harris would love filming that scene
9:22 that was exactly my problem with NWH. The whole time I couldn’t stop thinking that I wished Marvel had given Tom’s Spidey an opportunity to face off against his own Doc Ock, Green Goblin, etc. It would’ve been nice to see his Peter develop his own personal relationships with those characters that would lead to them becoming villains, rather than to have them be imported from other universes.
The problem is that the MCU is way TOO tied together. And just like Vulture and Mysterio, they will very tied to Stark in some way. At least in NWH, while they are not HIS villains, they are directly Spider-Man villains.
@@JamesJones-fk1mv that’s weird though. Peter will instinctively know now when he meets someone named Otto Octavius that they’re linked to Doctor Octopus and the whole transition of the character becoming a villain will be diminished
Yeah that’s my only problem with mcu spidey rn is that we might not get those iconic villains for his own universe, I hope this new trilogy introduces oscorp or something
The very first movie I TRULY remember seeing and EXPERIENCING in theaters is Spider-Man. The one that came out in 2002. It was a film that I think America really needed. The scene with all of the New Yorkers defending and helping Spider-Man, or Spider-Man ALWAYS in front of an American flag at some point usually during the final swing, might feel cornball to some younger audiences, but you need to remember the time frame and context of this movie....it's hard to explain an IMMEDIATE post 9/11 America to the Zoomers and Alphas. All they know is "well that's a HISTORICAL event that happened." and they live in a world that's always been post 9/11. They don't remember a time with the Twin Towers. But imagine it like having extreme anxiety just all the time, and you know WHY but you don't have a cure all for it. You can't really talk about it cause no one WANTS to talk about it how do you talk about the things you saw, the things you heard, the reason why what happened happened after all...But we just want to remember it and never forget what happened. Action films kind of died when 9/11 happened. That genre was effectively revived THANKS to _Transformers 2007_ and _Iron Man._ While _Spider-Man_ helped comic book movies feel like they could be taken seriously, _Iron Man_ helped them get into the spotlight post 9/11. When I saw _Spider-Man_ in theaters, and still to this day, there's this sense of...I'm not sure what to describe, but SOMETHING with Spider-Man. I think it's maybe sheer willpower. He has more heart than I think any hero out there. Spider-Man is my favorite hero because....Spider-Man teaches you that you're going to screw up. It's going to happen, and it's going to be bad. But Spider-Man also teaches you that the only way to get through it is that you never, ever quit. It's not easy, but even if it seems impossible, you can beat anything that stands in your way. But it has to start with YOU. What YOU want to do. You can't do something because someone ELSE told you something inspiring. Sure Ben's words do inspire Peter, but only AFTER he made that bad decision. The only way Sony will be able to have their own universe with Spider-Man, is if they remember what makes Spider-Man....Spider-Man. He's not Batman. He's not Iron Man. He's sometimes part of a group sure, but mostly a solo act. And that's okay. Not everything needs to be connected. In fact the superhero film scene might be better off for it. Each Spider-Man story is so different so unique. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man is really a story about figuring yourself out. Andrew Garfield's story is one about loss and how to deal with loss. Tom Holland's story, is a story about growing up. Which at the core, is what Spider-Man is about; he teaches people what it's like to grow up. And when Sony remembers what and who Spider-Man is....that's when they'll be able to swing into the spotlight.
Nice. Spider-Man is to me that no matter how many times you get knocked down. No matter how many mistakes you make. That he always gets back up. What makes Spider-Man great is that at its core. What makes him so great and why he's consider one of greatest superhero of all time. It's also amazing that back then Stan Lee may he R.I.P thought of this idea. Of making a hero relatable. And inspiring. Was never been done before. When he first approach about his idea. It was laughed at was hated. But he still did it in Amazing Fantasy 15. Sony needs to learn this too. That you need to take chances. To have faith. And to start trying. That's what happened with Stan Lee when he created Spider-Man. Spider-Man to me is also a friend. Like what I said with Superman he's a friend in the neighborhood. Spider-Man is a friend to New York. A friendly neighborhood hero. Who swings up high with the neighborhood. Near the people. Spider-Man deserves better. And even when he can't pay the rent, let's down his friends, his girlfriend, and his family. He still at his core gets back up. Stronger than ever. To keep on trying. To keep on swinging higher and higher. To keep on believing. And also doesn't matter who wears the mask. Because at his core Spider-Man remains to me the friendly neighbor. Who swings up into the sky.
@@jspur22 There's actually a pretty solid theory that Spider-Man's ENTRANCE was supposed to be that tease; with him and the Twin Towers. It certainly makes more sense than how he's currently introduced-with him just kinda appearing.
Answering the initial question before watching the rest of the video: The problem isn't the characters being used or the actors, it's the plot. Don't get in the way of the creatives to try and sell a franchise, even if what the creatives are making isn't as franchisable as the MCU.
This made a tear come to my eye... Sony have Spiderman.... He is the one. They need to use him properly. Andrew Garfield was always brilliant. This is their opportunity to bring him back, either as mentor to Miles or just on his own to quip and own the wonderful villains line-up. And no, Spidey definitely does not need (as much as I love RDJ) Ironman...
I agree with everything you say. I wish someone like you (or you) was in charge of the spiderman universe. Someone that has this level of passion for these characters and understand them but also understand that they need and can be more. Man keep doing what you doing and i hope you get places because you sir is someone that deserves that in my eyes.
@@marcomartinez1088 i don't agree with what u saying because it's other times he hated on stuff and not because of him being biased. Or that is what I feel like. And with spiderman he's said he loves Spider-Man 2002 the most of all the spidermen men but here he says that they should choose Andrew. Not because of him being biased but because he think Andrew is different from the rest and could be Sonys own Spider-Man, that fits the Sony spide verse. Personally i would love to see movies on all 3 spidermen. I like all of them.
That line about having someone new to swing with was really touching, people do deserve their own figure to look up to. Peter's still gonna be here, but he should share that space sometimes
There are three cinematic Spidey related franchises now that I can recall : Tom Holland over in the MCU, SPUMC or the Morbius-verse, and Into the Spider-Verse…Verse. I’m hoping they’ll go back to basics for Tom since the ending of NWH pretty much promised as much, just a grounded Spidey story set in the MCU with broke Peter struggling in life. Into The Spider-Verse Verse has so much potential to continue its success so not much to say about it at the moment, Across is my most anticipated upcoming Spidey project for sure. Morbius-Verse can carry on to be the best cinematic franchise in history, absolutely flawless cinema.
I think we'd (mostly) be happy if Sony's films actually mean something and aren't just cash grabs to capitalise on "oh it's a movie about someone who's from spiderman". If they give us something meaningful I think we'd be okay with sony still sharing the rights
Although I hate on the MCU a lot, I can respect the work that went into crafting the entire universe of films, and I appreciate the risks they took early on. The problem that Sony has is that they want what Marvel has spent years building, but they continue cutting corners and taking shortcuts wherever they can, and it never works. Every other big budget, thrown together, failing "cinematic universe" created since the MCU has had this same issue. They want what Marvel has, but they don't want to take the risks or put in the work to actually get there.
The MCU knew early on that the characters and their stories came first, that's what people will latch onto and keep them coming back. Their mindset was to just make a good Iron Man film or a good Captain America film, then put in a tiny droplet to suggest that maybe there'll be something more later on, that's all it takes.
Yeah. They get these terrible scripts, the directors and actors don't seem to even try to bring their top tier work we see in other movies. Imagine Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson delivering that oscar level acting to show how scary symbiotes can be, instead of the bad CGI of goofy Venom making dumb jokes. I don't care how hard it might be, I want a dark and serious Venom movie in the level of a horror movie. Even Morbius manages to be less stupid, and it has a vampire dancing ridiculously right after killing a bunch of cops lol.
It's the same thing that happened with DC, but it's not too late for them, yet. They could have it so at the end of No Way Home Peter is thrown into this new Spider verse with all of the solo villain movies, or try to come up with some explanation to connect the 2, but they don't have to throw out what they have and hit the proverbial reset button, they just have to put in the effort and try.
Honestly... I'd make a big budget TV show with a villain of the week formula. Spider-man would be in college, experienced and getting tired of being spider-man. Story Arcs could span a few episodes or culminate into a season finale. Peter would start off resenting being spiderman. But he helps a criminal working under Kingpin -to pay for his daughter's treatment- leave crime and live with his daughter. After that, Peter would have a friend who knows all the details about organized crime. Peter now respects being spider-man after seeing the good he can do first hand. When the show itself is done, and the proper characters are built up, then I would make a big live action movie like edge of time or spider-verse or the death of spider-man. And eventually after that, miles takes over and may cross over to meet MCU Peter after he lost everyone he's ever loved. (Ah... Classic Peter...)
I'm always blown away by your videos. I can't imagine the amount of work that goes into them and the quality of it all. While they might perceived as breakdowns or commentaries, I watch them like short films telling a story. One of the best channels around. Thank you.
Here's what I would do: Start off with Tasm 3 right after no way home, Peter 3 returns to his universe with a new outlook on life, he want to be Spider-Man again not the murderer but the hero. He is shunned by the public but he does his best to prove he's better now which catches Harry's attention who hadn't been interfering since he started killing because he knew he was already suffering, but here he is a new man. Harry gets a team together, he doesn't have time for the big boys so he makes a team of low level paid contractors: Beetle, Kangaroo, Tinkerer, Prowler, shocker and finally himself to form the sinister six. Peter goes through a journey to get back in touch with aunt may and meet MJ, through the movie he reflects on Peter 2's words of making it work with his MJ so he decides to start a relationship with her. He fights the six and beats all of them except beetle who cuts his loses and leaves. Finally he's beat Harry and is about to kill him for Gwen but remembers not only the other peters but MJ, so he spares him. The movie ends with Peter being his best version of Spider-Man and a PCS where miles Morales gets bit by the spider Harry had been working on Next I'd do venom 3 where it's basically Eddie and venom are in new York and see Peter fighting with a villain so they decided to help and get pretty damaged, to the point where Eddie needs to be taken to the hospital but before leaving he gives venom to Peter so they won't detect it in the hospital. Peter uses it polar opposite to Eddie, he doesn't let venom be full form and asks him to be along the outline of his suit and have a spider logo. Basically the rest is a buddy cop movie with venom going back to Eddie by the end with a nice spider logo. Finally is Ultimate Spider-Man where Miles comes forward and Peter trains him. Pretty much the PS4 game but at the end of it Harry uses a new serum to become the green goblin from the ultimate universe and kills Peter leaving him as the only Spider-Man. That's pretty much what I've come up with
In my mind, Sony should do both by letting the MCU do its own thing with Spider-Man and bring Andrew Garfield back. No Way Home introduced the idea of different Spider-Men to the general audience, so they should be open to seeing more than one action portraying the same character. Though I honestly want one more Sam Raimi movie with Toby, because I felt Raimi was cheated out of making the 3rd movie he wanted to make. and that irritates me.
would love to see Spider-Man being the Antagonist of Venom 3. set it in Garfield's Universe and have him meet Tom Hardy. bet the two of them would be brilliant rivals
Personally, I wouldn't bother with Miles. Lord and Miller have him down to a T and made the character actually good and I trust they'll also nail Miguel O Hara. Instead of passing the torch to Miles, why not pass it to Mayday? To Ben Reilly? To Annie? Spider people who people don't recognise but can learn to love them. Annie or Mayday, I'd like to see set in the Raimiverse but Ben would only work in the Webbverse. However, I'd like to see Mayday become Sony's definitive Spider instead of going predictable and 'Barbara Gordon'ing it.
Nah bro, Miles deserves a live action portrayal at some point it would be dumb not too, but it definitely won't come anytime soon since well be getting more animated miles films for the next three years so would possibly like 6-7 years for that idea of live action to come into fruition
@@Coolgamer54321 Why does Miles deserve it(despite having a bunch of animated movies releasing)over Mayday Parker? The daughter of Peter and MJ, a character who's been around since the 90s.
@@prufan I respect your opinion, but I'm disagreeing. Miles definitely deserves a live action portrayal and story. It would be pretty useless not to because in the comics he plays a vast majority of important roles in some of the biggest events further down into the later Phases of Marvel, like Secret Wars, Secret Invasion, and Civil War 3. Plus Tom said that he was looking forward to passing the torch for another unique character with a beautiful story.
Great video! Thank you for shedding light on this topic after audiences finally got to see all the spider-men on screen at the same time. There’s still much work to be done with this character.
Sometimes I question whether Sony is still aware of why this is such a beloved character. I genuinely can’t explain the passion and the love I have for the web head, it’s magnificent and amazing how many wonderful memories I have that in some way involve spider-man. If Sony only took a page out of hi-tops book or at least tried in an efficient way… that would put a massive smile on my face.
Every spider man video you make is a love letter to the character and hits the perfect emotional chord. You are undoubtedly very talented and realize the core of the characters... waiting to see what amazeballs you would drop with the Jason Todd film!
Great video as always. I said before that Andrew should probably be Sony’s Spider-Man but only under the condition that he and the director get full creative control. Maybe they could adapt the story with Sin Eater and Jean DeWolff and set it before NWH. Also Miles should 100% hail from the TASM verse while Mayday Parker hails from the Raimi verse.
TASM1 not only had the writer from SPIDERMAN 2, but also had a writer from the HARRY POTTER movies, and a writer from ZODIAC All because of LAURA ZISKIN TASM2 on the other hand, had the writers from TRANSFORMERS All because of AVI ARAD
At this point, the spider-man I am most interested about is Insomniac's. Actually, spider-men. I love how they are portraying both, and the games look and feel like those spider-man movies that we deserved but never got to see before.
As usual you nailed it! I just can't get enough of you talking about Spider-Man and Batman or any comic book characters for that matter. I appreciate your passion and love for these characters. I just wished the people who are in charge also cared the same way too. 😢
Spider-Man 4 should be about Peter Parker being a dad. Inspired by elements of the Renew Your Vows comic with him and MJ's daughter having the same spider powers.
I totally agree miles is the smartest direction for sony especially with andrew Garfield spidey mentoring him is icing on the cake , if sony really wants a multiverse they already solved the problem with into the spider verse …. great video 💯
LAURA ZISKIN was the only one capable to save this movie from AVI ARAD After she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1, there was nobody else to stop Arad from ruining everything May she rest in peace
This is 8 months old by now, but I just wanted to thank you for touching upon the fact that Spider-Man should be set in its own universe with his own villains. I never really liked multiverse stories that much. I just think that a superhero should stick to their own storylines without being messed up by other ones. That's why I don't think the Tom Holland trilogy is amazing or anything, because his Spider-Man story was affected so much by the Avengers. Additionally, I completely agree that Spider-Man should have his own villains that are not ripped from another universe's rogue's gallery. I found it both cool and stupid that Tom Hardy just came in, teasing that he and Holland would duke it out, just to reveal that he was the catalyst for the venom of the MCU. No, I would much rather have Tom discover the MCU's specific symbiote, not the symbiote from another universe. It decreases the impact of the stories when you realize that it's not actually their villain. It's like your children dying and then getting the same children from another universe. Yes, they're kinda your children, but they're not actually YOURS
Love your analysis of the Raimi films man. I appreciate them so much more now that I understand where Raimi was coming from. Its a shame people criticize cringy dialogue and never look past that. Spiderman 3 is my personal favorite because its so fun to watch, Bully Maguire is epic.
Listen. This was great. I men I enjoy your content in general, but wow. This started strong, delved in deep, and ended with the greatest mission statement and gauntlet throw to Sony ever. I think you're right. Thanks for making me feel this clip. Thanks for putting heart in your videos.
Gotta say man, I’m loving these more positive videos. Because like Raimi’s Spider-Man, I grew up with him just as much as I grew up with you. I hated Snyder for his DCEU and all the rest. I basked in their ‘failure’ but now that I’m in my 20s, I say who cares. Life is too short to be so angry. And I love that your videos reflect that.
imagine making a movie set in new york after the 9/11 tragedy, and non beats it w/ a web crawler superhero as Spiderman, Sam Raimi did it w/ how the audience empathize w/ Peter's interpersonal struggles and responsibility.
I’m still waiting on Toby Maguire Spider-Man 4!! Hopefully it can end the story on a much better note. 🕷🕸🕷 If Sam Raimi had the same personality as Quentin Tarantino. He would slammed them in their faces and told them this is my movie this is how I want to film it with mine vision.
I have been wanting a 2099 movie for the last 6 years with a blade runner and TRON feel and style, having Miguel deal with the trauma of his parents abuse
16:31. This is what quitters do. Sony needs a revaluation of their entertainment company values. After working with Disney, Marc Webb could be a prime choice for more Spider-Man films with Andrew and Sony. Zack Snyder's Justice League got this treatment, wheeled into existence by a fan petition and studio support. If that's the case, Andrew will get his due after Secret Wars. Thoughts?
I want an Amazing Spider-man 3 and an Agent Venom movie with the actor who played Flash in the Amazing Spider-man movies. Best Flash Thompson portrayal in all of the movies.
Don't know how long I've been waiting for this very video. This is exactly what I've been saying since Venom - Sony should've embraced a different structure for their universe than the MCU since Day 1. Fundamentally, because they make movies about villains and morally grey characters. Yet they're all given the same hero journeys and are pit against even bigger scumbags with similar power sets by these movies' climax. People enjoy the Venom movies and more power to them but personally, I could never get into them just out of the sheer wasted potential I notice when seeing actors like Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson put in a dumb-fun Fast and Furious flick instead of a character study that explores Eddie Brock's dark, tragic backstory intertwined with Spider-Man. Joker, regardless of your opinion on it, might be the only CBM that pulled off being a SUPERVILLAIN movie and not just a superhero one starring a known comic-book villain. A slow descent into darkness Venom, a Frankenstein tragedy Morbius movie, a Black Cat heist film with B and D-list villains, a political thriller Silver Sable film, etc... This is the universe we could've had if film execs still didn't think an extended universe could only be done like the MCU.
Step 1: start fresh scrap everything but maybe venom Step 2: make a Spider-Man film preferably Andrew or even tie into the original tasm universe like ghostbusters afterlife Step 3: develop that Spider-Man introduce his villains in a series of solo movies Step 4: now you have all you need Spider-Man vs the sinister six it should be like endgame so preferably 3 hours long to give some good time for development it could be similar to the PS4 game Step 5: now you’ve covered the basics what everyone wanted now you start doing new things like the spider verse
the part about andrew being sonys spider-man in their universe almost got me emotional. I’ve always loved andrews spider man adaptation the most. ive felt more connected to him than the others. andrew deserves to have a movie if not movies made with his spider man and marc webbs vision. I need to see it or else spider man will never be fulfilled to me. spidey has always been my favorite super hero. even with the raimi movies or the mcu spider man movies they don’t itch that spot of the darker/emotional tone that marc webbs movies did. #MakeTASM3

I wish Andrews universe would continue. His films were more mature and dark and they are my favourite Spider-Man films. A lot of people were very disappointed that there was no TASM 3, and I’m not talking about the hypocrites who love andrew all of a sudden, I’m talking about the people who loved him back then. He was the best Spider-Man and had potential for great movies. I really hope they keep him seperate from the mcu and bring back the TASM universe.
They say that the SSU started with Venom or Spider-Man Homecoming, but it’s actually Raimi’s Spider-Man, the man who started it all, the SSU was created on 2018 starting with Venom, it was official you know, Spider-Man 1 was created in 2002, Spider-man wasn’t in the SSU because the SSU was created in 2018, Spider-man was technically part of the SSU Unofficially. Venom was Official, TASM and Spider-man Trilogy were unofficially part of the SSU, but Spider-man 4 and TASM 3 will be officially part of the SSU.
Freaking dope as per usual man! Your love for the character shines through as always and you have the insight that I hope someone with influence takes note of😁
Start a new Universe for Peter Parker where he's just starting grad school. Focus on the characters before the plot and think about how the characters react to premises that lead to plots.
I would to see Cindy Moon as Silk over Miles. Nothing against Miles but I think it would be interesting. Adapt her story from being bit by the same spider as Peter to being a human test subject used by Oscorp to recreate Spider-Man's powers. They succeeded but kept Cindy against her will in a lab for years as they tested and expiremented on her to keep trying to recreate the process that gave her powers. Then through some means, Peter finds out and frees her. He would then take her under his wing. This idea popped in my head recently and I quite like it. Cindy is not as popular as Miles currently is from what I can tell, but I think it would be an interesting tragic character to look at.
I would love it if Holland and Garfield played Spider-Man at the same time in their own universes. I love the idea of having one Spider-Man that fits in a much wider interconnected universe while having another that's in a far more isolated but personal universe, it gives a good variety to the kind of Spider-Man stories we can see on screen.
“Stop Making Every Film a Superhero Film” Oh my god thank you for saying it! There is no reason whatsoever that all these films need to be the exact same genre, have the exact same climax, feature the exact same character tropes
If Marc Webb doesn't return for TASM3 Then Sony should let PHIL LORD and CHRIS MILLER direct and produce the movie They could save it from AVI ARAD, just like they did with SPIDER-VERSE
Morbius and Venom need a recast and reboot. This requires talented actors, good screenwriters, and a director who can convey the right tone, and all this without the control and intervention of SONY producers. It would be better if they were shown as villains first. Their confrontation with Spider-Man create a contrast, making them more interesting. And only after that it would be possible to make them antiheroes. Venom could become a Lethal Protector, and Morbius could fight Blade, become part of the "Legion of Monsters" or "Midnight Sons" team in MCU.
@@michaellabonte6390 use emojis all you want but I'm not joking. Morbius is a better movie than all of those horrendous toxic propaganda dogshit mentioned up there
Sony needs to understand that not every Villain of spiderman can work on its own and have their own movie, the only one that can work on it's own is Venom but even then he's not as interesting when spiderman isn't around
Even if Spider-Man wasn't around, I might have liked the movies if they bothered to establish the relationship between Spider-Man and Venom before Brock joined the symbiote.
With secret wars coming up, it would be interesting to see Tobey and Andrew's universe combine into one. Maybe combine all of the Sony universe combine into the ultimate Spiderverse with Venom and more.
My main thought process on the Sony universe that's always confused me is that they own the rights to Scarlet spider who in a way can be the best character to fill that hold, a few years ago I just thought simply maybe in their contract it's Spider-Man can only be in one universe and as much as I would love Andrew to come back because he was my favorite I highly doubt that he can do to contracts and stuff so I thought why not just make it a Scarlet spider film make Ben Reilly the main Spider-Man of your Sony verse, and I thought the first film could be a film about Ben versus Kane at the start and the end is Ben versus The jackal don't completely make Spider-Man non-existent but if you don't have the capability to have Peter Parker on screen I thought it was fitting
I'm honestly so glad I can wind down on your videos and have another mega time spidey lover as yourself to listen to and even be motivated by. Not only your videos themselves but the clear passion you show. Spiderman means so much to me just as alot of us here and is one of the biggest inspirations in my life, I'm so glad we have someone like you who is so passionate and understands this character like few others do.
It’s pretty simple. Continue with the MCU Spider-Man movies and the animated Spider-Verse movies. Don’t make SM4, don’t make TASM3 and don’t make stand-alone villain movies. This shit is obvious.
Exactly. I would only want to see Spider-Man 4 and TASM3 If there were good writers attached. I'm just grateful we got to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield again in No Way Home
Yes, much of No Way Home is a banger. But let’s not forget that Sony hasn’t made a 10/10 live action Spidey flick since 2004. The fact we haven’t gotten a 2099 or Noir movie is baffling. We keep getting garbage like Venom and Morbius. And now El Muerto with Bad Bunny? Give me a break. This character deserves better, much better. How they don’t fully utilize Spidey is insane. Give us a Raimi/Tobey reunion movie where Peter and MJ have a daughter, setting up Spider-Girl with a Rocky/Creed vibe. Give us Andrew Garfield’s third movie. You could even bring them back for a proper team up movie. Give us live action Miles!! Andrew would be perfect for that! Mentor him for a while and have him either die or retire, passing the torch! There’s so much more they can do but continue to consciously make generic/mediocre trash.
Give us a Raimi/Tobey reunion movie where Peter and MJ have a daughter, setting up Spider-Girl with a Rocky/Creed vibe That's actually a pretty great idea !!!
@@boxingchampion2469 thanks! I think it’d be great to have Tobey be the central focus for one last movie, but we see his teenage daughter having her powers kick in at the end, setting up her movie/trilogy where Tobey is the supporting character. Could be great

Writing this at 4:37 before watching the rest of the video. I think it would make sense to give Andrew another go. Have him interact with Tom Hardy’s Venom and maybe begin to introduce Miles Morales. Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker needs redemption. He needs to become more. He becomes a mentor to Miles and eventually passes on the torch. Simultaneously, I would be down to see Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi return for one more movie. But, only if it’s a project of passion and not of greed from Sony. Let Raimi have full control for the 4th installment. I promise that he will not disappoint because he loves this character.

The problem isn't the characters being used or the actors, it's the plot. Don't get in the way of the creatives to try and sell a franchise, even if what the creatives are making isn't as franchisable as the MCU.

Pretty much. Hell, they'd probably get more respect if they followed though with their initial R rating teases instead of just baiting.
Don’t even worry about live action stuff. Into the spider-verse has you covered for a meaningful story
Exactly I agree man
#IBlameAviArad
Thank you.
Here's what I would do:
Start off with Tasm 3 right after no way home, Peter 3 returns to his universe with a new outlook on life, he want to be Spider-Man again not the murderer but the hero. The movie ends with Peter being his best version of Spider-Man and a PCS where miles Morales gets bit by the spider Harry had been working on
Next I'd do venom 3 where it's basically Eddie and venom are in new York and see Peter fighting with a villain so they decided to help and get pretty damaged, to the point where Eddie needs to be taken to the hospital but before leaving he gives venom to Peter so they won't detect it in the hospital.
Sam was both cheated out of a 3rd and 4th movie, he really should be given the ability to get the redemption he wants
would love to see Spider-Man being the Antagonist of Venom 3. set it in Garfield's Universe and have him meet Tom Hardy. bet the two of them would be brilliant rivals
I agree, Mayday would be perfect for that role.
She actually deserves it, not Miles.

In a perfect world, I would bring back Webb and Raimi to finish their stories. Honestly that’s all I would want at that point.
HiTop Films .. how many times will you bring me to tears , my passion and love for these characters, you touch that every time
Every spider man video you make is a love letter to the character and hits the perfect emotional chord.

Since they already got the next two spider verse sequels in production too.
Imagine a Kraven Last hunt type of story with this more mature Andrew Garfield’s Peter/Spider-man that would be sickkk

Dude... It's permanent. Just gotta say it once.

If Sam Raimi had the same personality as Quentin Tarantino. He would slammed them in their faces and told them this is my movie this is how I want to film it with mine vision.
It would be nice if spider-man 4 took place after spider-man 3 rather than nwh, they could fill in many things that took place before 2021.
I have been wanting a 2099 movie for the last 6 years with a blade runner and TRON feel and style, having Miguel deal with the trauma of his parents abuse
I wanted Marc Webb to have a second chance
But what I didn't want was to see him working with Disney on their live-action remake of SNOW WHITE
Very well said!!! Totally love this idea and vision for the films.
Step 1: start fresh scrap everything but maybe venom
Step 2: make a Spider-Man film preferably Andrew or even tie into the original tasm universe like ghostbusters afterlife
Step 3: develop that Spider-Man introduce his villains in a series of solo movies
Step 4: now you have all you need Spider-Man vs the sinister six it should be like endgame so preferably 3 hours long to give some good time for development it could be similar to the PS4 game
Step 5: now you’ve covered the basics what everyone wanted now you start doing new things like the spider verse
the part about andrew being sonys spider-man in their universe almost got me emotional. #MakeTASM3

Been looking forward to this one. So much potential there, they just need to get a better focus and structure.

I agree- I want a standalone Spider-Man movie without throwing in Avenger heroes or other spin-off heroes. Let SpiderMan Be a capable solo SpiderMan.
Andrew Garfield is the ultimate spider man in my opinion
In BTS Andrew Garfield was reading ultimate Spider-Man some of the stuff in those movies took some elements from the ultimate comics.
