I used to love Soul Train back in the day. You could be outside playing or something and then someone would say "Soul Train is on... or it's about to come on". You would stop what you are doing and get in front of the TV to watch Soul Train.
Heather, I still to this day (Aug. 22, 2020) have both of the Polaroid foto's with you when you came to Oceanside CA for an in-store photoshoot. I think this was around '91 or '92. The line outside to get to you was crazy long and you was extra cool and down to Earth. We love you Heather!

I actually think it's sad that she wasn't allowed to continue on the show. She seems so kind. She was trying to do something great with her life and live a dream, but people couldn't get past her past. I applaud Don for at least being classy and graceful. Sponsors. Boy, they are the modern day masters, aren't they?
That was back in the day when companies didn't want anything negative associated with their products. Soul Train being a G rated show didn't want anything X rated related. Different times.
But it wasn't her past , it was her present at the time. As far as the sponsors, they are basically paying for the show . Television would not exist without them so yes they are the masters.

She’s beautiful. No offense to her, but I knew a lot of older women in that day that said they stopped watching ST because it became nothing but a stripper show! 🤐 You will notice the cameras going up the skirts and such. It’s not the dancers fault though - ST wanted the ratings.

I think they tried new hosts because the ratings was getting so bad - an attempt to be young and fresh by replacing Don (I think he said he didn’t want Rap artists on his show)? But Rap and Hip Hop was dominating the charts and the ST audience. The show just ran it’s course.

I had already found out in recent years that she danced on Soul Train when they showed the old episodes on bounce TV. I found it sort of strange seeing wondering why was she dancing on the show knowing that at the time, she was at the height of the adult industry.
