Paul didn't break up the Beatles. John quit. He was ready to move on with Yoko. Without both John and Paul, there couldn't be a Beatles. Paul just let the proverbial cat out of the bag when he released his first solo album. ANYWAY, Wings did fine. And Paul (solo) has done fine. 70 years old and still selling music and filling stadiums.
Can never get enough of this song, PAUL's voice gives you an out of body experiences. I can not count the number of times I have listen to this song. Never seen to get enough.
In my 11 year old memory, C Moon was A side or my dad would never have bought me the 45. Then my big sister snitched on the meaning of the B side....yes, we heard bodygun, and the single was taken away and burned 😆
On this day in 1973 {January 28th} "Hi, Hi, Hi" by Paul McCartney and Wings peaked at #10 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; it had entered the chart on December 10th, 1972 and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100... The record started a string of eight straight Top 10 hits by the group; after this one came "My Love" {#1}, "Live and Let Die" {#2}, "Helen Wheels" {#10}, "Jet" {#7}, "Band On The Run" {#1}, "Junior's Farm" {#3}, and finally "Listen To What The Man Said" {#1}...
Well, when I met you at the station You were standing with a bootleg in your hand I took you back to my little place For a taste of a multicolored band We're gonna get hi hi hi The night is young She'll be my funky little mama Gonna rock it and we've only just begun We're gonna get hi hi hi With the music on Won't say bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye 'Til the night is gone I'm gonna do it to you, gonna do it Sweet banana, you'll never give up We're gettin' hi hi hi in the midday sun Well well, take off your face Recover from the trip you've been on I want you to lie on the bed Get you ready for my polygon I'm gonna do it to you, gonna do it Sweet banana, you've never been done Yes, I go like a rabbit, gonna grab it Gonna do it 'til the night is done We're gonna get hi hi hi With the music on Won't say bye bye bye bye bye bye bye 'Til the night is gone I'm gonna do it to you, gonna do it Sweet banana, you'll never give up We're gonna get hi hi hi, we're going to get hi hi hi We're going to get hi hi hi in the midday sun, ooh baby Hi hi hi Hi hi hi Hi hi hi in the midday sun
It was banned because of the "body gun" "rabbit" and "you never been done..." lyrics. Every Time in the Chart Shows the B-Side "C-Moon" was playing, the speaker read the lyrics that cause the ban.
Good song to listen to especially after hearing the news that Richard Nixon was re-elected in 1972. I know that George McGovern stood a better chance winning than Benjamin Spock, but the creepy aura of Nixon's campaign made me feel pessimistic. Paul McCartney's Hi Hi Hi made me feel optimistic and Frank Zappa's music gave me the comic relief I needed.
I worked on MCGOVERNS campaign, in the BRONX, NY. NIXONs dirty tricks every where. Cut tires, pohone lines, you name it, they did it! Had a fund raiser in CO OP city, lots of celebrities, loved SHIRLEY MACLAINE and BELLA ABZUG. BUT, MCGOVERN never had a chance, sad.
Wow. Rare video with Joe Cocker's Grease Band's Henry McCullough on lead guitar. Think he was only in the band for a couple of hours before he and (drummer) Denny Seiwell had had it with the schmaltz and split. Actually, they stayed together for one album, Red Rose Speedway, recorded in early 1972 with Hi, Hi, Hi, I Lie Around, Live and Let Die, C Moon, The Mess and other tracks that were inextricably cut from what was to be a double album. Following a string of commercially unsuccessful singles, EMI feared the costs of a double album were too high and "the material was not of a sufficiently high standard."
Seiwell recorded with McCartney for 3 albums: RAM, Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway and was with Paul for about 2 and 3/4 years before he left (just before they began recording Band On The Run). McCullough began recording with Paul in early 1972 and quit in July of 1973. He was with Wings for about a year and a half.
@@ewest14 I'm not sure Band On The Run would have been better with them. I think Paul and Denny (and Linda) were out to prove something with "Band On The Run" after the other two members left.
Imagine Mac being asked what he was going to do now that he had just broken up the most successful group in the world, and him turning around and saying "Well I'm thinking about forming another group with me missus who can't really play very well." Well he did and they didn't do too bad.
McCartney rocked quite a bit in the 1970s IMO, Venus And Mars/Back To The Egg albums, a couple of tracks on London Town, Band On The Run, Wild Life, and even Ram... in the 1980s we had to wait till .84 with "not such a bad boy", pretty much once an album if were lucky after that
Okay, someone help me out with the facts and history. I see Denny Laine playing his usual Wings rhythm guitar role, but this was '72 and before the short era of Jimmy McCullough at lead guitarist. Who was the guitar player on this video and did he have anything to do with the lead/slide guitar part on the actual recording of Hi Hi Hi? Why didn't he last longer?
Pure raw talent, they don't and won't be another ever like him.
Except for the one who entirely replaced him lol
@@switchswitch1898 and that would be who?
Tu
"I want you to lie on the bed get you ready for my body gun." Perhaps the most suggestive line from any Beatle.
MarkBarna1 and why don't we do it in the road
Paul was not the choirboy the media made him out to be :)
The actual lyric was polygon
That's more than suggestive
The line is actually: get you ready for my polygon. It's what Paul claims the line is
My favorite Paul song. Blast it when you are driving! This song is the definition of rock and roll and full of what made it great!

Crochet Fun wanna be friends?
could hi,hi,hi be one of Wings precursorary metal songs?
Yep. Especially at 1:35. Man he's so hot.
this song is everything! along with Helen Wheels
Sir Paul McCartney, thank you will never be enough or say enough for everything that you have given us. Simply the best.
I think Linda was way cool and good too. I love her.
This is my favourite Paul, the rickenbacker years..
you say you want a revolution... 🎶
A song that keeps rocking along with an eternal beat. Brilliant that Paul, Linda and Wings stopped by tonight.
The late 70's...age 10 on up...this little rocker: on vinyl! Great Times!
Awesome. Paul is a force of nature!
Great song
Fond memories of being 14 yrs old...Remember the summer well that year ..1972!
the hardest rocking and my faverite beatle.this man is simply the best.

Paul McCartney & Wings - Hi Hi Hi ( 1972 )
Great Song .

very very high, very very good..
this was one of those that got a lot of radio play but you don't hear of much anymore.
Go Jimmy Go!! R.I.P.
Fun song, took me a while to find this version!! I remember the controversy, about playing it on AM radio!!
what a belter the feel good dance factor with sherry.

Recover from the trip you've been on
I want you to lie on the bed
Get you ready for my polygon

Hi hi hi
Hi hi hi in the midday sun
One of the lines in the first chorus is wrong. The correct line is "I'll put you in my pocket little mama"
Lovely one of 'Sir Paul McCartney", think of all his songs I know from my early days, it's still my favorite !!
Thank God for that, I'd rather listen to McCartney's rock and roll anyday!
This song was banned by the BBC for drug references. The misheard lyric "body gun" instead of "polygon".
WE GONNA GET HIGHHHH!!!! WITH MARIJUANA
no wonder it was banned from the BBC
It was banned because of the "body gun" "rabbit" and "you never been done..." lyrics. Every Time in the Chart Shows the B-Side "C-Moon" was playing, the speaker read the lyrics that cause the ban.

Love this song and Love him!!

I would love to hear Paul play this now.......
he has played it on rotation over the last few years, most recently a month ago:

And that's the truth! The one and only "Paul McCartney."
Балдежь,балдежь,балдежь!
fabulous.. 😊😊
СУПЕР!
I feel high.
Pauls Hi Hi Hi and Rockin . Sweat runnin down his balls.
And that says it all! Could just see Martin tilting his head, raising his brow, knowingly stating the obvious ... ;-)
Go listen to Abbey Road's medley and see McCartney had already done that Rock opera thing years before Queen.
The "medleys" on Abbey Road were in fact uncompleted tracks, segued together, rather than anything operatic.
👍🐴📡🐺
McCartney rockers Tops
Does anybody remember laughter?
first song to get on dance fLore jimmy ayrshire
McCartney Rockers R Tops
This and Helen Wheels were about as rockin' as Paul ever got :) :)
I agree. maybe add Juniors Farm too?
Gary Goodrich and heller shelter and back in the ussr
Revolution? Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band? Dear Prudence? Sir Paul and his Beatle mates could do it all!!!
OF COURSE Junior's Farm! What a cracking tune! I couldn't agree more.

nice song, know it from wings over america:)
Paul's voice in this song is different, are the guitarist singing over Paul?
Paul liked to Rock & Roll that hippie lettuce If you`ve never tryed it itdefinately enhances the musical experience
hehe i like you!

So this was the song and film clip banned from the BBC for obvious reasons.

Don not think for one second these guys were not on some shit
I am very upset youtube had no Hungarian Rhapsody video, the Yugo and Rubik's cube footage was nice though.
The only part you got wrong was that McCartney broke up the Beatles!
Of course we all know that he didn't!
how could he....he was dead LMAO
Hungarian rhapsody?...I don't care what u say bro this is a badass song
En alguna biografia, leo que dice,"Polygone" no "Body gun".Aunque yo no le encuentro sentido.
